I wanted some really good Shoujo this season and like you, I enjoyed the art style for Honey Lemon Soda. I can’t say I enjoyed either of the leads, but a lot of people seem to have really taken to it, just not me.
I appreciate the summaries for these two. I was considering Tasokare Hotel, seems like it has an interesting setup and I noticed similarities to Death Parade. Okitsura seems like fun, not usually my cup of tea but I’ve been hearing almost exclusively good things about it.
Be happy to discuss anime anytime, and we can do some check-ins on seasonals if you’re down for it. I’m going to be reducing my number of seasonals for the next couple of seasons (planned to do it this season, but with 7 holdovers from last year, it was never going to happen), but I’ll still keep up with 10-15 per season most seasons. Next season already looks pretty great with Kowloon Generic Romance, Lazarus and Apocalypse Hotel looking very interesting and the return of Wind Breaker and Sentai Daishikkaku, but I don’t want to get too far ahead.
As for Yuri is My Job, it was a good anime, but I felt like something was missing while watching it. Maybe it felt a bit rushed to me. However, checking out the manga will probably make you love the story even more! 😊
Ikuhara is a great director. He really understands the aspects of anime made for girls that make them so special. His work is also commendable because, in most of the anime I’ve watched where he was involved in the production, there wasn’t much unnecessary fan service.
You’ve got great taste when it comes to yuri anime! Personally, I’m more into yuri manga because many yuri anime adaptations don’t do justice to their mangas. For example, I recently watched Yuri Is My Job! and felt it was a bit rushed. However, reading the manga afterward was a much better experience.
If I had to pick my favorite yuri anime, I’d go with Kase-san and Morning Glories and Rin: Daughters of Mnemosyne. (^v^)-b
Apologies for the late issuing!
