Miyo trying to bear too much responsbility on herself isn't a good look for imo. On the other hand, I do like her courage and devotion towards Kiyoka. This season almost felt like the entire world is against them.

An emotional epsiode again and it looks like we got more in depth character study of Kiyoka.

I didn’t think we’d see a cameo of Smol Kiyoka, out of nowhere, helping out Miyo. But then again, the way this series works, this ain’t worth getting surprised over. How easily Miyo came to terms with everything was a bit baffling to me as well lol… I mean leave her trying to be responsible and leading things upfront against Usui, she’s even calling smol Kiyoka to sleep with her in the same bed… and that’s too drastic a development to take place in a single episode if you ask me xD

Man didn’t get his love and then went off the rails… yeah, that entire backstory of Usui and Sumi can just be summed up with this. Pretty one-note villain, though that’s not something new for this series, and not that we were expecting something else as well. If anything, at least Miyo has “finally” awakened. Plenty of people were looking forward to that, so due to that I’m guessing it won’t be as easy to stop Usui as Miyo made it sound like in the end.

Honestly, I would take a smol Kudo stuffed animal anyday, dude is freaking adorable xD

But yeah, as expected, all it took was seeing her mom’s past to master the dream sight thing or whatever. Did like the flashback very much, probably my favorite episode of the season just because of it icl.

All the pieces are set now, and now we’re gearing up for a classic rescue arc!

This episode hit right in the feels.

We finally learn Usui’s past and the motive that drives him to be the way he is. It’s sad that most fictional villains were once good but were ultimately broken and forced to become who they are. Not that I’m justifying Usui’s actions, but I see where he is coming from. How would you feel if everything was taken away from you, only for someone to help you and be taken away too?

Also smol Kudo hella cute, ngl that´s prob what one of their future kids is gonna look like... well maybe with miyo´s eyes or hair.

The enemies machinations being what they are really got us good this time. Still the ambush on Miyo and Kudo was the drop of a hat considering the gains they made elsewhere. Thankfully the navy is still an ally. What was most surprising of an ally though was Kudo's shikigami. You have to wonder if the emperor had not intervened then Naoshi might not have turned into a despot. Kiyo was adorable as a tsun. Thr insight into the past told from Sumi's POV really was insightful.

Kiyoka's Shikigami is adorable, and just like him, it couldn’t help but blush while being near Miyo.

It’s such a shame that, because of the Mikado, Sumi had to suffer, and Usui ended up becoming a villain. But now Miyo has awakened her powers after that bittersweet flashback of her mother. She’ll have to stop Usui and save Kiyoka.

A shikigami based on a younger Kiyoka was pretty cute, especially how Miyo interacted with him. The tsundere was in full force when Miyo offered him a spot in bed to keep warm, even though he doesn't feel the cold at all.

While the situation is tense with what has happened to Kiyoka, Miyo was able to get help so that she was able to visit her grandfather's house again and learn more about Naoshi's past with Sumi. Mikado had a hand in making Naoshi to what he is today, but I did enjoy seeing how Sumi was able to get along really well with Naoshi up until that turning point.

Thanks to what she was able to see, Miyo has now awoken to her powers. The challenge of rescuing Kiyoka while putting a stop to Naoshi and Arata will be difficult, but it's given me hope that Miyo will succeed here.

Wow didn't except Kiyoka's shikigami to be smol cute version of him. Miyo can't sleep with her husbend but when he is little she is all in. Shotacon much..

Usui story was told in parts before now all is told. Can't really blame him for killing murderers of her parents or taking revenge for Sumi. Sumi was literally only person he cared about and then...He was betrayed and then she also died. Hard not to sympathize with him. Should have killed Saimori family and Mikado then and then would have saved lots of lives.

Miyo's ability awakened finally, should be interesting now.

Feels so bad for Miyo's mother Sumi regarding her backstory :( but it was interesting to see Usui's development for how he became the main threat now

I found the Sumi and Naoshi stuff rather interesting since Naoshi saw his own family killed right in front of him, alongside the Usuba family being long feared for their exceptional supernatural power. With Sumi promising Naoshi that she will protect him and Naoshi saying the same thing was quite sweet, alongside being what keeps Usui in check. Sumi later on marrying into the Saimori's to save the Usuba family with Sumi turning rejecting Naoshi being what drove him insane. Miyo awakening her Usuba power and vowing to save Kiyoka was quite the great character growth moment alongside how cute Kiyo, the manifestation from Kiyoka's shikigami was.

I can’t lie I left this episode in tears. One of my favourite yet. Idk why this just really hurt me, I feel so bad for Naoshi.

Everything he ever loved was taken from him, it’s no wonder he’d hate the world and just want to completely reshape it with a new world order. Watching your parents get murdered, then being punished for killing their attackers, then you find someone that helps put you back together and she’s taken from you via arranged marriage and then death. The way he’s gone about things is wrong, but I empathize for sure.

The ending of the episode was so beautiful to me. Sumi just encouraging Miyo with that little smile was all the answer she needed. After learning about his backstory, I wanna save Naoshi too rather than killing him. He’ll probably have to end up dying in the end because of the evil shit he’s done, but I hope he can find some peace in the end and it’s one of those bittersweet moments where he sees Sumi as he takes his last breath.

Great ep. Excited to see awakened Miyo

@Arciinin I came here for this. WTF was that?? WTF is wrong in the heads of the people that animate these things. Having her drop to her knees and suck his finger SMH. Not to mention how gross it was since it was bleeding and you can still see the blood on her mouth after. She literally could have just wiped it with the cloth. One of the reasons I stuck with this show is because it has adult characters (that actually look like adults) and doesn't sexualize 10 year olds. But the Japanese need to get their sick perversions in somewhere I guess.

This is the first episode of my favourite arc this season will cover. Although a cute moment was omitted, it more than made up for it by inserting some preliminary scenes.

LN6 opened with Miyo on the way to Usui before encountering Kiyo.

They went really hard with Sumi's backstory, and it is really the Emperor's fault why Usui ended up undoing Sumi's influence and becoming truly evil, even if Usui himself is a POS.

The visuals are great as usual.

ETA: In the thread and Reddit, people were saying that Miyo has awakened the full power of her Dream-Sight ability.

I don't know. That wasn't my impression when I was reading the LN because Miyo
Maybe it's an anime change, but for now, I'm inclined to believe that the true awakening will take place either in Episode 12 or 13.

Edit 2: I checked other subs. In the anime, Miyo has awakened her ability and her grandpa said it. I'll re-read the LN to check if that happened at this exact moment.

Edit 3: In the LN, Miyo's grandpa did not say that Miyo has awakened her ability. But rereading the passage, there are some imagery that suggests it.

Regardless of when, Miyo has now awakened her ability according to the anime, and it's now official: Miyo is now the most beautiful swan in this ugly duckling story.

Cheapest power up (awakening) ever. It seems Miyo will never overcome anything on her own. 10 episodes in she has no understanding of how her powers/abilities work but now she's "awakened!" She'll be able to save everyone and has full grasp of her ability now. Weak....

The number of times I replayed the scene of small Kiyoka shikigami introducing himself hahaha. Love the focus on the eyes, then the panning up so we finally see him. I love his clothes as well. He's so cute! Kiyoka's powers are very powerful being able to create such an animated shikigami???

I was still expecting that Arata is a double agent but he seems fully onboard the plan/betrayal... I still hope to be surprised, please.

Since Season 1 the Emperor has been doing questionable things. His meddling with the Usuba family was cruel, and Sumi and Naoshi received the brunt of it. Will the Emperor be dealt with this season or will he continue to be a villain in the future LN volumes? The cut to black then cut to new scene with a funeral lantern got me, goodness... Sumi really deserved better.

Miyo as a Dream Sight Maiden gets developments via her dreams. The sakura tree growing to be very tall and bright was a beautiful sight. Truthfully, I would want to see more focus on Miyo. Though the end did show Kiyoka and her meeting, this dream focused more on Sumi and Naoshi, so I feel like it's more of an intel gathering step to stopping Naoshi, than the main factor to her ability awakening. But I am looking forward to what an awakened dream sight maiden's powers entail.

I am glad miyo had such a great character development since S1 , miyo developed so much courage and personality due to her love for kiyoka (thanks kiyoka ! ) she finally realized how important it is to stand up for herself just because she finally gained someone she wanted to cherish for her whole life . Love is a beautiful thing ut truly changes ones perspective on life ! miyo and kiyoka , you both have done a great job my beloveds take care of yourselves <3

Also , 10/10 back story , i feel so bad for naoshi and how his life turned out , its terrible that he had to suffer so much at such a young age and when he was at his lowest, sumi helped him by giving him a new purpose . that was to protect her and to love her . naoshi's whole world was sumi but that stupid mikado had to ruin it all . I hope he regains his peace (he lowkey didn't have any to begin with ) and lets kiyoka and miyo live in peace too!

also a note that i hate that stupid mf arata he had no right to do that to miyo and kiyoka . i hope he and mikado suffer alot .

Haha, so a smol Kiyoka clone (kinda) will be helping Miyo from now on. ;D

Another emotional episode with really beautifully directed moments.

Good to know that the Prince was not idling and also took some actions, even if they were quite limited, given how masterfully the whole intrigue was planned out by Usui.

Miyo has awakened her power, it seems. Before facing Usui in person once again, I guess she will go to save Kiyoka first.

SSSOOOO GOOD TO SEE MIYO BECOMING SUCH A STRONG WOMAN!!

She was such a fearful girl until a few episodes ago and now she is going to save her husband and all the people around

Hope she can also saves Usui, he's just a boy who suffered too much and is trying to continue the dreams of his beloved

And then Miyo haves to say "I love you" back to Kudo, OMGGG I can't waiiitttt

Also, Kiyo-kun is such a cutiee, it was adorable to see him the entire episode

I really like this anime <3

Lamest power awakening moment I have seen in a while. On par with Miyo mastering her newfound powers to save Kiyoka back in Season 1's finale.

Also glad to see I wasn't the only one raising an eyebrow at that "loli Sumi sucking Naoshi's finger" scene. Man, and here I thought Miyo inviting the shota version of her fiance to her bed was already odd enough...

I give her that she's trying to do what she can, but there's always the issue of what she could do and what she risks by getting caught instead. Feel that her putting herself front and center is like moving your queen into pairs of bishops and rooks.

Sweet that she has a little shinigami companion to help her out tho. Despite her guy being detained by evil people, she has some assurance there.

That Naoshi flashback to the past tho.. he and Sumi did seem pretty close. His love ruined by extenuating circumstances. But villain gotta be a villain at the end of the day.

Miyo blaming herself for Kiyoka's loss, though Hazuki tries to calm her down, as well as Takakura allaying the fears of what Takaihito is feeling for his sworn friend, all hope is not lost at this time. And her wanting to save Kiyoka, though his shikigami did come to stop her from doing pointless matters alongside Takakura bringing her past a hidden tunnel, out to safety to see the Usubas once again discreetly. And her grandfather knowing full well on the deep discourse of both Usui and Arata and their heinous ways, he attempts to correct the course for Miyo's understanding.

What started off as an orphan with his parents murdered, Usui had the problematic history with his family connected to the Usubas, only to use his supernatural abilities for evil, until the change in the Emperor and politics prompted that they be connected to the Saimoris instead, which is how Sumi parted her ways with him and got Miyo in the mess from her very birth, after spending some time with her for his rehabilitation. At least the Awakening portion is now clear to Miyo and the shikigami, even with her late mother showing the dream between her and Naoshi, one that first raises hope between the two as a lifelong promise, but when the plot becomes clear that Sumi wants to connect herself to the Saimoris to preserve the Usuba legacy, all hell broke loose because he lost his one and only family to traverse down the rabbit hole.

The generations of Usuba that Sumi left for Miyo, she has finally awakened to her power, the power to stop Usui and save Kiyoka.

The damsel-in-distress is no more, she's now a force to reckon with, and I'm proud of her character development.
