Hanako trying to resolve this mystery takes an interesting turn. I'm kinda seeing a character rivalry between him and Kou here.

Watching this episode shows that he does have more to learn but still has plenty of time for growth. This clock mystery really added a lot of personality to the arc as a whole imo.

I’ve always thought about this, but why do their names have to be this similar lol. We know the guy is head over heels for the girl, but yeah, that doesn’t mean they had to go that far to remind us, right? Also yeah, dude is one of the seven wonders who can stop time, because once he wished for it sooo wholeheartedly that… those powers became his own, yeah. As simple as that lol. Though yeah, when this thing around time started I actually thought we’d go a bit deeper with some time paradox or sort, but nah, this series always does its stuff at surface level.

That bit about Mirai touching Nene and she not growing older actually made up for a good revelation. Though yeah, we know she won’t die in just a coming year, because reasons, and I mean they’re already onto that as well. Good to see though, at least Akane isn't just a simp.

Well that was a way better and easier resolution to things than I expected! Turns out Akane not evil after all. Also, Aoi definitely likes him and is just teasing him with all the rejections, lol.

That flashback was a nice way of fleshing out their relationship and showing how Akane became an apparition. Whereas I thought we’d have a fight between Hanako and Akane today, it was a chill talk if it out situation. But wtf do you mean Nene only has a year left to live?? Don’t mess with my heart!! Hanako talking about he’s already dead so he don’t care who lives and dies, yea yea mf you better protect Nene though or we’ll have problems lol 👍

They need to keep better wraps on Mirai too so she don’t get in more trouble lmao. Her bad ass needs constant supervision before she puts everyone in the future.

Fun episode! Ready to get into new content, though. This arc chronologically took place before season 1 ended.

I'm already dead. Who lives and who dies doesn't matter to me anymore.
Ouch. Right in the kokoro. Hanako's disenchantment with life is always hiding there in corners of his mouth in every smile, in the veil of his every dirty thought (lmao erogaki indeed) - this might be where it shines through it all the strongest. And holy fck if it isn't relatable.

As always in this series: exceptional voice acting jobs across the board, but especially on Hanako. That range is nothing short of incredible.

Oh man what a huge bombshell hanako kun just dropped. It will be fantastic to see how the humans, exorcists and all ghosts and Apparitions all work together to save yashiro from her fate.

The turning point of the whole series has finally arrived: from now on, the real TBHK starts, IMHO. I gave a second chance to the anime adaption just for this, since the way they handled things in 1st season got me kinda disappointed. But here, the pace and the atmosphere of this whole episode were handled quite well, and I don't know if the OST is still the same as 1st season, but it was actually good and worked great this episode. Even if the color palette has never been my piece of cake (I think they stuck way too much with the manga, they could have been way more creative), if they go on like this, this season has big chances to surpass the 1st one. Stay tuned, folks ^^
Also, Mirai is just so cute, made my heart melt!

Wow, wasn’t expecting such a big bombshell dropping like Nene having less than a year to live in a goofy arc like this lol, but man this is sad, I can’t imagine the funny daikon girl having such a sad fate awaiting her, but I did like the connection to how she was able to contact Hanako in the first place, the fact she’s close to death already allowed her to. And it’s also wild to find out this arc was skipped in Season 1, this seems like quite the important one so I can see why some folks may have been upset before lol, but imo it really works as the first arc to Season 2, this adds a whole new layer to the story. I also really liked how Kou refused to give up and let Nene die, and I’m with him, they live in a world where ghosts exist and have their own pocket dimensions, surely there’s a way to turn her destiny around lol, and this ended up giving Kou and Akane a reason to be friends which I liked.

And speaking of Akane, looks like he’s not a complete wonder but instead in a contract kind of like Nene is with Hanako, I liked getting the backstory for how that happened too, it’s really sweet that he’s using that power to protect Aoi, if only she’d return his feelings lol, although it’s possible she does like him and is just fucking with him. And I enjoyed the chase to capture Mirai too, I just watched “Beyond the Boundary” which also has a girl named Mirai so funny timing there, and she’s absolutely adorable, but she had to be caged back up because turning the whole school into senior citizens isn’t gonna fly lol. So I guess in the end this means Aoi wasn’t one of the clock keepers after all, I still think it’s likely she’s connected to a wonder somehow but that’s something for later I guess, I do wonder what she wanted to tell Nene tho.

Strong opening arc to Season 2! I hope they go back for more skipped arcs but if they end up moving on from here that’s fine too, really I’m just happy to be back in this series again.

A terrifying revelation this episode about Nene. Its very sad hearing that she has such a short lifespan left. Under a year remaining on her life, it's shocking to find out like this. Hanako of course knew the entire time he's known Nene, I'm glad too that he cleared up her short lifespan isn't because of him or anything. Kou definitely took the news hard, he's had personal experience dealing with situations that don't have an easy outcome. I don't think he could handle losing Nene so soon like that. Hanako naturally has a more morbid outlook on life given he's been dead for decades now, so I don't blame him or get mad at his response to Nene only having so short to live. Akane being one of the time keepers for the first myth was an interesting reveal we got to end last episode, now with the explanation this episode. Seeing how he got tricked into the role their first day of the school year. Them all chasing around the little baby with the future role of the clock keepers was adorable. She was very cute and fun bouncing around accelerating people. Kou got to keep his memories of this ordeal so the only one who doesn't remember is Nene herself. I wonder how long before she finds out while dealing with another of the school's wonders.

Here I was thinking how much fun the episode has been and then they just drop on us that truth bomb, I liked how it wasn't overly dramatic but showed how much Kou and Hanako feel about it.

holy fuck nene's life-span is finally revealed!!!!! now manga readers can stop dancing around it!!!!! this is a huuuge turning point for the series, and imo where it goes from good to great!! liked how they did this ep, although i prefer ep 1. this episode honestly made me remember how much i looove hanako's character, we get a better look into his personality and motivations from here out, and honestly i'm in love with his character because he's very complex & flawed but in an actually interesting & realistic way, and his actions genuinely make him morally gray and that's pretty evident from his reaction here. im super excited for this season to flourish ㅤ♡

@Softhenic03 i think their names being so similar is meant to be a joke bc if they got married (like the guy wants them to) they would either be named Aoi Aoi or Akane Akane and thats supposed to be funny or sumthing

Ugh the simp guy is so annoying, but Kou has to be one of the most lovable characters ever. His whole personality and spirit screams shonen. I'm guessing they'll have to fight the timekeeper in the future because Hanako wants to release them all first?

That said, I do like the whole twist at the end about her lifespan. This gets a bit into it, and maybe I'm going a bit too in depth. Kinda dark too, but a lot of those students should've been shown not growing to old age, if you know what I mean. A good majority of your classmates won't be lucky enough to do that statistically... It would make the reveal seem fairer, because before I think we all thought the mechanism for the future girl's magic was to make them grow to old age, regardless of what their actual lifespan was. It clearly wasn't the case.

Kou remembering Mitsuba made my heart ache 😭😭, I love these 2 waaay too much, no matter the amount of episode(s) they were together...

And now he wants to try and save Nene with Akane. That makes me think about time traveling, and I can't stop thinking about Madoka and Steins Gate 🥲🥲

@Softhenic03 You’re not going to know because you’re not a manga reader but there is a reason for the names being like that and parallelisms to other characters. All stories and reasons for characters actions are reflections of a big part of tbhk

Our Tsundere Queen is in her mid-40s and still popping out voices like Mirai's.

Well damn that got dark. I actually said a deadpan "Oh no she died" out loud when Yashiro fell over but I didn't think I was that over the target.

Loved the episode the animation was just magnificent as someone who has read the manga i already knew what was coming in this episode but the animation just made it so much more interesting. The only thing dragging it down for me personally is that I really just don't like Akane however I do understand that he is important to the story. Definitely worth the watch.

Is this show going to make up it's mind if Hanako is caring or a pos? He's been remorseful for making Yashiro cry before and even seemed sadden the very moment she fainted in this episode but then gets all sly and unaffected while explaining the bombshell reason why that happened.

Toilet-Bound continues its colorful cartoonish story. And adds an ice-cold plot twist to the mix. That is actually something that I enjoy about this anime. So much youthful behavior and humor. But also, that there is always a darkness nearby.

Still can't believe it, and so high quality too. So many warm memories from S1. Our precious girl is in trouble, let's see where this goes I guess.

It's such a big deal after all this time, truly surprising. Dub is grrreat!
