The one black Ristae that Jess wishes she has an accompaniment to follow her to the royal capital, her wish came true, and that magic translated into her prayers bringing Pig to Mesteria. But that's not what happened, and MC-kun was brought into the world not a human, as Jess would've hoped. And as much that Jess is at fault for deceiving him in her selfishness, she has one more wish: not for Pig to go back to his own world, which the pathetic, scrawny four-eyes virgin wants to make a life back there also. All Pig was ever to Jess was nothing more than a hindrance, and since they've come so far to reach the royal capital, Pig's wishes should be prioritized first, despite Jess's bereavement.

Instead, spending their time together in the royal capital, taking a picture together like a couple, if only he'd wished he was a human enough to love Jess the same, despite the latter feeling the exact same way as well. And when it's time to bade farewell, it was a rather emotional farewell. The virgin finding himself Isekai-ed back to Japan, that same feeling could not be replicated, so he made a web novel about his adventures with Jess (appropriately as the series' title) to remember his time that's now faded to a sense of loss. Even more surprising, he found information from fellow people who came from whence he came from, that could return him back to Mesteria.

And that's what he did, coming back as Pig once again.

This is one bittersweet finale (though IDK if the long wait's worth it), and the series is actually decent: neither bad nor good. Though it's up to you to decide if the entire show ever makes sense to begin with.

Oh, I thought the series was over, but it's not! Entirely forgot about it.
I wonder if anything like that happens to something interesting...

What if this journey was just a combination of coma and drugs?

This series, with its premise of a guy being isekai'd as a pig, matched my expectations.

However, it pleasantly surprised me with its fun and emotional finale. It really hit me in the feels, making it a solid 7/10.

That's quite a meta ending for anime.

The studio takes time to create the last episode to make it rewarding instead of punishing.

This pig really have no cheating ability, or any ability at all, which is refreshing for an isekai genre.

I didn't have high expectations, but in the end it was a pleasant journey.
I'm not optimistic about a second season, which is a shame because in the end the story interests me and unfortunately translations of the source are not available. The manga is blocked from the end of 2022 to like the second/third episode of the anime, for the Light Novel I haven't found any official translations. Too bad.

Man 😢 I’m sad to see this one go. I was kinda enjoying the delay because I didn’t have to say goodbye to this yet.

I was really hoping for an asspjll where Jess and Buta would be able to stay together, but nope no such thing happened. Have to give credit to the author for not being afraid to go in such an original direction, as well as being able to tug at our heartstrings like this.

The entire episode was so heartbreaking. Seeing two people who had finally found happiness and peace together forced to separate was so hard. With how Yethma are treated in that world, Jess being all alone is sad to think about.

Well Buta certainly lived up to his promise of never forgetting Jess. They got real meta on us at the end there by turning his adventures into a WN. Interesting decision to go with a VN look in the final third of the episode. There’s basically no moving animation besides the camera. Cynic in me believes that was Project No.9 saving time, but still a great episode on the whole.

I thought the fan club were just passionate Otaku at first, but it seems like they actually know a way to get back to the other world. Idk how much of the LN this adapted, but I need more desperately. I wonder how much time will have passed in the other world and how Naut and the others are holding up…

Despite the production issues and delays this was still a very good story and I think ended up being criminally underrated. 6.3 is way too low for this. While it may seem like your run of the mill isekai from the title, it’s anything but.

nice slide show, reminded me of the fact that i still have a powerpoint presentation to finish

i've no idea what yall are watching but the only things that moved for the most part outside of 5 minutes of flashbacks were jess and buta, and even then they were still images 20% of the time

That was such an emotional last episode and a lovely ending

It's a shame the studio didn't have the budget to fully animate the show and especially this episode.
But I think they made the right call with decent stills rather than janky animation.
After all I was here for the emotional ride and it delivered there.

It even had the courage not to asspull a simple happy ending.

That was sweet actually. I don't mind there was some recap there since it was fairly appropriate and it was needed to end things at the right point. Poor Jess had to see Buta-san die thinking she's never see him again. Even if she knows he'd live on it still is same as someone dying for them to not be in your life anymore. My only complaint is why was it not even thought of to try and ask for Jess to go to his world?

Looks like they used animation sparingly. Like when Jess did a twirl with her dress that was well animated and some other scenes were still shots with a pan.

I hope if this gets another season it gets more focus than it got airing same time as The Vexations of a Shut-In Vampire Princess which got all the production. At least it didnt get to the horrid level that was Oujo to Banken-kun. It actually deserves good production since it's pretty unique and actually touching even if not perfect writing. Hopefully they fix the animation jankiness for BluRay and that it will get more attention then.

Same, really it could have ended right there just have Jess go to his world, though that wouldn't resolve the issues of the world and if it did it might be too much resolved at once of it still being a shitty place for Yethma so I can see why the author made it go on further.

What a bittersweet ending.

Buta-san finally got returned in his human form, but we never get to see what he would look like - that sucks. If this anime ever gets a sequel then I hope the production will improve at least, unlike that Ojou to Banken-kun which was a complete disaster.

I'll settle this with a 6/10.

The episode got emotional which I didn't expect, pig went back to his world leaving jess behind, but after some time in his world, with other people who travelled to Jess's world. He also went with them once again to Jess world. So the journey continues & this adapted only Volume 1 of the light novel, they are 8 more left.

With the show finally concluded, I can finally say this is straight up one of my favorite anime from last year. Don't think I've ever seen a mystery isekai as interesting and subversive as this. It doesn't really feel like your typical isekai at all, and just feels like regular fantasy with how unique and unusual the setting is. This is mystery done right.

That buta-san returned to his original pigsty is ridiculous to think about and raises so many questions. How is he even going to get around anywhere without Jess this time? And how did he even get there without a Yesma's wish? Did he seriously eat another unheated pig liver despite all the warnings he gave? Really hoping for a season 2, but don't really expect to get one..

What a bittersweet finale this series got, both from a storyline and production perspective. While this last episode had limited animation I liked Jess' twirl and the use of both flashbacks and stills to get around their limits. I also liked Jess' confession towards the end.

The ending surprised me not only with Pig going back to his modern day Japan but also that he met other people that had also gone to that same world. Also with Pig going back to Jess' world I was also a bit surprised that he went back as a pig and not as a human unfortunately (Btw I wonder if he ate raw liver to get back lol, it's probably that those guys he met may have figured out another way to get back).

It's a shame that this series had a limited budget as I thought the storyline and character designs were pretty good. I hope (but won't hold my breath) that this gets a 2nd season since this was left wide open. On a site note I also hope that Project No. 9 gets more time and/or budget for their future projects. 7/10

I completely forgot the whole explanation that the King gave about Yethma's in the previous episode...

That aside......The Re-Reincarnation plan the other 3 "otakus" were talking about is a big wth?? to me...I can't imagine he'll be going back and forth between the other world and his world multiple times...aka: this next isekai would be "a one-way trip"

Anyway....it was a cute series and I finally get where the title of the anime/series came from but.....I'd be perfectly happy if I never find out what's next despite that obvious tease at the end.

That's a pretty disappointing ending. I was really hoping that the cliffhanger would be staying in the world to begin with and going against the king in some way. Either to free the remaining Yethmas with Naut, or just to escape with the powerful mage, Jess. I got my hopes up again at the very end thinking that he would be meeting Brace or even Jess in his world. Instead, he just meets some unnamed iseakai-ers.

The rest of the episode was nice though. It's just a shame there wasn't really any development from the heartfelt confession.

5/10 was an okay show but not anything I would recommend to anyone else.

It finally ended.
I kind of guessed that this ends like this, I mean I didn't think that the universe would just let Jess go on living with that misery inside her. But it is interesting now, that Mr Pig being isekai'ed will make things possible to return or travel between worlds but it might once again be temporary, since he will only be able to borrow another pig's body in the Mesteria (i.e. still can't isekai as a human being).
Anyway, this was a nice anime to watch but it is obvious it was another 12-episode ad/commercial to promote the light novel it is based on. There is a manga adaptation but so far, 3rd party groups basically forgot about this series and I only found 3 chapters out there, and with the botched anime production, the manga was still not picked up so no updates for it, and I guess, new seasons for the anime is very slim therefore, if you have access to the light novel, then it's the only way to continue the story.

Really felt the emotion in this episode. I assume they skimmed past the details of how they got back to isekai world just so we could have a better ending. That part felt a little rushed, but it works well as an ending point to the season.

Hope the light novels get a physical english release, I'd like to read them.

The above info was actually mentioned in the LN but somehow the anime skipped it. Just decide if you wanna know what really happened. I guess they were trying to minimise / skip animating everything in our world. Even that otaku meeting looks like coloured manga panels slide show more than an anime. :)

Thatis funny putting it that way lol Might be a weird regulation thing (so many i dont understand they seem so random) or just not wanting to put that in the end because how it would alter the tone. Maybe if it somehow got a second season it would be in first ep, dunno.

Thatis funny putting it that way lol Might be a weird regulation thing (so many i dont understand they seem so random) or just not wanting to put that in the end because how it would alter the tone. Maybe if it somehow got a second season it would be in first ep, dunno.

That's probably the case.

I really appreciate how they managed to sustain a bittersweet tone at the end for so long without feeling awkwardly mushy.

Turned his adventures into a web novel...is this autobiographical? Apparently, Scrawny Pork wasn't the only one who's been to Mesteria. To outsiders, this meeting of otaku probably looks like a cult doing a mass suicide through eating raw pig liver. Is he gonna have pig buddies in the next season?

Novels I have read/am reading pending approval: since November 10 2022
