| holyshit. i thought mushoku tensei and chainsaw man marked how the best of high budget anime tv series can look, but this shit was on a whole other level. it looks as good as idk, arcane? or high budget anime films. if monter with only ok visuals is already one of the best anime ever made, this might very well be the actual best thing ever. i've read 1 chapter of the manga, and if nothing else the writing is as good, if not better than monster. best case cenario, anime of the decade is an understatment. |

Let's wait and see weather this show lives upto the reputation of the manga. well, arcane is 3d, so obviously the still shots of the characters can't look as good here in 2d. but the backgrounds are up there. and the 2d animation is absolutely great. comparing it to arcane can never work purely because one is 3d with 2 elements, and the other is 2d with 3d elements. but i think this as good of a 2d animation as arcane is good 3d... if that makes sense. |

| In my opinion 20th Century boys is better than monster and Pluto though I'm still in the chapter 174 and i might change my opinion based on the ending but for the moment I like 20th century boys more than these two. |

| Lmao chill homie, yes animation looks good with PV but we are yet to see it how it goes, also monster was panel by panel copy so its essentially like reading manga. Monster is magnum opus of urasawa and nothing come close to it not even pluto, 20th Century boys comes after Monster and you should read that too. Pluto is good but saying anime of the decade is like setting yourself for disappointment. Wait till you see how it unfolds. However I am happy that its finally getting released after 5-6 years of announcement but don't hype it too much. |

| I've watched Monster, read 20thCB and Pluto, Monster is still on top in terms of characters, I liked both 20thCB and Monster stories the same, Pluto is behind them in terms of everything imo (still literally peak fiction) Still can't wait for the adaptation because Urasawa is the goat, if this succeeds and we get something like 20thCB anime adaptation I can die peacefully, it has a lot of volumes so It's gonna be hard for a studio to pick something like that up and adapt it Btw agree about the anime of the decade thing, there are a few mangas that can come close to Pluto that can be adapted, if of course Pluto gets good adaptation like Monster, maybe they fuck him up like Berserk movies or smth |

| From the Urasawa works i read i would go 20thCB > Monster > Pluto. Not saying Pluto is bad, because it is not. But it is based in one arc of Astro Boy lore and it will not feel a complete story. I believe the anime will be great based on the last trailer. |

| Pluto is pretty great but honestly of the Urasawa works from monster to Billy Bat its largely my least favorite of the 4. I'm wondering if my opinion will change watching but I have a distinct memory of the last few volumes being kind of underwhelming as it starts to be more and more reliant on following the original narrative and a bit of the mystique wears off in the process, and cause of its shorter lengths it doesn't have as wide a net to fall back on to counteract that which billy bat and 20th CB had despite them also having semi underwhelming finales as well. Still great though, Urasawa's character writing is outstanding its just not as strong here as in other works |
