THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE.
----------------------------------------
In the aftermath of all the battles, this episode had a tense and awkward mood imo.

Trying to live normal lives in this show feels like a far cry at this point. Still, this episode did have some action with some high stakes. They made that fight look feel much more dangerous than the usual kind though.

Wow they really saved the best for last with Dynazenon. Everyone finally started thinking what life would look like without Kaiju, sensed a little bit of romantic tension between Koyomi and Mujina, that “well, I despise you” line was cute. But you could cut the tension between Yomogi and Minami with a knife today.

Their seiyuus are excellent, all their convos feel like real teenagers talking. Shoutout to Yomogi with one of the best confessions I’ve seen in anime. No BS, no blushing or running away, just acting normal. Too bad Sizumu had to interrupt it with his BS. Predictable final villian, but I’m not sure how they’re going to take him down. Gauma could have a Kaiju inside him or some other upgrade to Dynazenon? One more ep, will be sad to see it end.

If you told me that this episode feels just as awkward for a set-up finale, I'd believe you. But since this is from the Gridman Universe, and having watched Gridman back in the day, I already kinda know where this is heading.

With that said, this episode definitely reeks like any other episode in the series (or franchise of that matter), being a very non-linear storytelling style. Everyone is moving forward, Sizumu is (almost) out of the picture both in school and of the Eugenicists, and both Anti-Knight and Second are about to leave because their Kaiju-fighting duties are pretty much done without more emerging Kaiju from the Kaiju Eugenicists. Even Goldburn and Dynazenon's uses are also done.

Seeing Gauma go berserk with Juuga over their 5,000 year-old rivalry is something to be expected, but the Princess angle hasn't been extensively covered much, so getting more content out of it builds Gauma's character.

Yume's visit to her older sister's grave with Yomogi to finally put her trauma chapter to rest, and everyone trying to live normal lives is just an outlier to their Kaiju-invested lives.

Well, well, well, look who's here to disrupt the order: Sizumu. The final hidden character-cum-boss that has hidden a Kaiju inside of him, everyone's mobilized by the stretch. Fate hangs in the balance for everyone involved, both direct and innocent.

The finale will be ONE THING AND ONE THING ONLY: an epic fight between machine and monster.

Too bad the next episode is the last one, I want a clear-cut ending, but look like I'll get incomplete ending instead. May be they'll make another SSSS?

Well, they either will show us everything in the last episode or nothing, there is a lot to cover still but only one last episode. I feel like TRIGGER kinda forgot themselves mid way ? They've been building and building .. something ... and nothing. Make no mistake this is my favorite show this season but something's missing.

Everyone seems to be trying to live a normal life. We got to see Chise attempting to go to school and Koyomi trying to get a job. There's more romantic development between Yomogi and Yume. The grave visit finally puts Yume's grief away. Ah yes, Yomogi finally confesses his feelings to Yume but, it was short-lived. Would you look at that, the final boss, Shizumu!

The part where Gauma flashes back to the person telling him about his princess' passing is taken directly from Ep 18 of the original Gridman series.

So we finally know how Gauma and the Kaiju eugenicists revived and why the princess can't, that's pretty sad. Yume x Yomogi interactions were beautiful again and damn we finally got the confession but ofc it was interrupted. The final battle begins, I hope everyrhing ends well for them.

It's nice to see Koyomi looking for a job and Chise trying to go to her school.

Sooo... Shizumu will be the last boss I think? Pretty unpredictable which is nice but unlike Gridman, this show has awkward development so it doesn't really suprised me for somehow...

Also can we talk about Yomogi's confessions to Yume, it happens very quickly and makes me screaming like literally five minutes lmao I'm not okay.

wut the previous Kaiju is not just making them dream of the past eh but its actually doing a multiverse aka destroying space and time of the past and future eh

so Shizumu is the final Kaiju or last villain i guess and Yomogi might use Instance Domination on him in the final episode

also the socializing side of this show is great again

So the sub version I watched mummy became a mirror.
I know the similarities of the 2 words, but QC exist.

Great packing up episode.

4 people creeping the Yume and Yomogi date.

I didn't had much against Shizumu until this episode, until the rude interruption that could had waited.

If a Kaiju user make the Jojo pose they become a Kaiju?!
Damn it! They feel more stronger and dangerous now.
Next episode will be our heroes approaching them?

This is what I liked about SSSS Dynazenon, the flow of communication and the raw emotion felt very real and natural for me. No overreaction or excessive expression. This episode feels like that moment you finish a movie.

Anyone notice Minami "uso~~" at the grave, isn't is similar to akane "uso~~"?

I think it's meant to be similar.

Like how Yume does that "claw fingers" pose just like Akane.

God dammit Shizumu, I knew you would be the final boss but you went too far by interrupting the confession! Yomogi and Minami are so cute together.

Poor Koyomi though, Mujina outright told him that she despises him xD. I can see where she's coming from though, Koyomi seems to finally be moving on after this experience with the kaiju while she doesn't really know what to do now that they're gone. That said, I still have faith in them!

Oh right, Chise is in middle school, it was weird to see her with the uniform xD. Understandably she feels that Koyomi and Goldburn are leaving her :/

I know Onija said he was going to kill people himself but it was kind of hilarious to hear that he tried to steal a cop's gun only to end up in prison.

At last we have confirmation that Gauma is the much rumored mummy, but finally, who is the princess? Who is the girl Gauma says he heard? There's only one episode left and I'm not entirely sure they can close everything but I'm hoping for the best!

I KNEW IT
01:37 So the last scene from episode 10 was out of chronological order. The battle did end in a victory for Kaiser Gridknight while the Kaiju Eugenicists lost. The Kaiju Eugenicists part ways, with slightly different agendas.
02:53 Dyna Striker and Goldburn gave the unemployed Koyomi and school-dropout Chise purposes, respectively. What will they do if there's no Kaiju left for them to fight?
07:09 They actually reused a clip from episode18 of Gridman The Hyper Agent! That's Yuka Inoue's original voice and line right there with the filtered footage. Everything shown lines up; the poison, the Princess's suicide, the burial items.
10:11 Yes, it's meant to say "mummy" (ミイラ in Japanese) not "mirror". The mummy (a screenshot from Gridman The Hyper Agent) is shown on the phone and Yume's line ends with "came to life and vanished?".
16:56 Response blocked by Sizumu.
17:15 The power of Kaiju revived Gauma and the four Kaiju Eugenicists. The latter still had Kaiju to keep them alive but Gauma has stopped being a Kaiju user, so the 5000-year-old-poison begins to kill him again.
19:14 The palm faces inwards so Sizumu has a Kaiju within. Dynazenon's actions wiped most of the Kaiju but Gauma needs Kaiju to stop the poison spreading. The one Kaiju left is Sizumu, is Gauma at his mercy?

Chise X Koyomi is social taboo stuff and Chise is still young anyway so its fine if she does not have any purpose in life for now

They did the thing!

You'd have to have been living under a rock to not have heard the mummy theory by now which has been circulating for months now.

These two have gotten so close since the beginning of the series.

About time Yomogi.

Lowkey was expecting his to say "Instance Abreaction" based on another theory floating around that Shizumu might be a fragment of Khan Digifer (the main villain of the original tokustasu series).

Dang, so ep 9-10 really did totally wrap up all the actually interesting threads this show had going? I figured it’d all come down to a big kaiju fight but thematically I just have no idea what the series is going with right now. Maybe about letting go of the past?

I was wondering if the show was edging towards Chise being the final boss, unable to let go; but I guess not.

Most of the time, this episode was calm. The tension and problems just showed in the last minutes. Living a normal life as a kaiju eugenist is harder than we thought.

Yomogi finally got the courage to ask Yume out, but she didn't answer. However, there were some signs. Koyomi decided to make a change and take a step ahead, I'm happy for him. Chisa was worried about leaving Goldburn, so I hope that the kaiju will return to her hands in episode 12. I wanted to see a bit more of her story. Gauma's actions were surprising, especially when he protected Yomogi from Shizumu's weird beam. He talked more about his past, but no clue about his relation with "princess".

Let's see the team fight once more on next episode, folks!

Only 1 ep left
I hope there's will be an explanation about Gauma in the last ep
And what i really want to watch is Yomogi instance domination and i hope it will out on last ep
Today episode is so good
Normal life is seems so different for them who fought Kaijuu many times already and getting used to it
Yume and Koyomi already take a step to change themself, Koyomi preparing resume and Yume visiting Kano grave
And i really love Yomogi x Yume screentime in this ep and finally Yomogi confess to her
But fck you Shimizu you ruin the romance mood
All left is how they handle Shimizu

Fantastic episode! That mummy theory is as good as confirmed, why the fuck did the subs say mirror lmao. I just love the character interactions in Dynazenon, it's even way better than Gridman's, it's one of the best if not the best. Let's fucking go Yomogi! As if he wasn't such a chad already, that confession was great... until Shizumu fucked it up.

Yume doing the crab hands was adorable. Koyomi actually getting his shit together and trying to find a job. Honestly feel really sad for Juuga and Mujina, while Onija out here getting himself imprisoned lmao. Damn, that gag of Onija always getting hit by debris and almost "die" actually got him out of prison, that's big brain writing right there.

Really looking forward to the finale, I definitely feel like there will be more SSSS shows to expand the Gridman universe and then maybe one day they'll all connect. I can't wait for that day.

I couldn't even laugh because it's such a joke that their translator could make such a big mistake. Even if you were unfamiliar with that specific word in Japanese, I don't know how they would think the sentence makes sense that a mirror came back to life.

This ep was... just Yomogi and Yume flaunting how close they are now compared to the prev eps... like Jesus Christ get a fcking room.
Koyomi taking a step forward in life tho! guess the dude got used to moving around ever since they started fighting kaijus that he got bored by not doing anything again and wanted to be a slave to society now, well thats good and all. NEET or be in an actual work force in Japan, either way you still lose anyways.
Wonder how this will all wrap up in the final ep. Gonna miss this show, loved how spontaneous their relationships and developments started to change, this felt more like an SoL that just got mixed in with some dumb robot and Godzilla fights here and there.
Looking forward to more SSSS series, be it a sequel to Gridman or Dynazenon or mixing them both or making a completely new story again.

Its now episode 11 and its really good! That just when u thought that that was the last kaiju, u will have one last coaster ride.. i had really thought that sizumu was always kinda acting funny, i didnt think he had an ace up his sleeve! Just when peace has returned, and after such a battle against a kaiju that bends space and time, a sudden change in the tide suddenly appeared! Like a calm before the storm! when they all made peace with their own pasts, and knight would now go with goldburn to somewhere safe, all that happens.. well, for chise, its kinda hard for her to face her past right there.. since she wasnt being swallowed in the last battle and all.. anyways, i rate the episode a 9 of 10, 9 for story and 10 for art.. :)

I'm really sad to see this coming to an end. I've never really considered myself a fan of mecha but something about this cast of characters and their interactions made me fall in love. Although there's still a lot left unanswered and it's a bit rushed, I absolutely love this series. I'm hoping for a second season with more explanation but I know those chances are slim to none. I've really enjoyed my time here!!

The best bet would be making another SSSS instalment, but taking place in yet another world with the potential for Anti and the Dynazenon mecha to make a visit to that world too.

So Shizumu is the final antagonist. Out of nowhere, he has a kaiju with him all this time but hey I prefer this instead of another random enemy appearing. As a NEET, Koyomi doesn't looks and act like me, he was just created to mock real NEET, smh Japan, learn we're not slaves of society. Chise is irrelevant now since she was barely developed so I didn't feel nothing when she came back to school.

Yogami, Yume and Gauma were better developed in the anime at least especially Yume and Gauma.
