| THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE. ---------------------------------------- What shall Kaede and Dino borrow from a multimedia store...he's just too ecstatic. Not to mention Dino crossing over the R21 space, WOW that is SOOOOO META. And to watch Jurassic Park and Yokai ghost movies, that might've been too much. And Kaede's ex-boyfriend Shouta beinging in tangerines...at the liberty of his mum STILL on the impression that both of them are dating. Peeling the white "cotton" like thread on tangerines, there are times I like eating them with and without. And a trick that works on him, yet lost on others. The live-action part this episode, it's even better. The games, from Dino's tiny "transformations" to the quiz questions and piggy badminton, were hilarious. Looks like Dino has given up...but not yet! The origami and coin-stacking skits, with the abrupt "the end", how can you not laugh at that. WHA THE...the weirdness really steps up a notch this episode! |

| Was just wondering one thing, that doesn't really have to do with the episode itself... but why wasn't "mikan" translated in the official subtitles? Checked the episode to see if there was a gag or a pun or something that led to their decision of leaving it like that, but found none... |

| Pfft, Kaede's so chill. She just waltzes on into the R-18 section like, "Lol you don't need anything in this section. Oh. What up, Shouta?" I feel like I have something to say about Shouta not telling his mom that he's broken up with Kaede, but I'm going to meditate on it. That was a cute live action part though! It was pretty funny. Hr0n said: So it looks to me that it's kinda a thing with the Japanese naming system. I'm still looking into it because I thought this choice was odd too, but it looks like "mikan" usually refers to a particular tangerine/mandarin (Citrus unshiu). However, Citrus unshiu is apparently "a separate species from the mandarin", when using a certain naming/classification system. Meanwhile, another system considers them to be mandarins/tangerines. It sounds like some complicated stuff, so I guess just calling them mikan is your best bet. I'm sure someone wrote in on translations from the past saying, "ACTUALLY THAT'S WRONG", so they probs left it be in future translations. Additionally, it sounds like a lot of other mandarins/tangerines have specific names like "dekopon" or "komikan", so it seems like "mikan" is usually just used in reference to Citrus unshiu. Someone can correct me if I'm wrong. | I don't think I've seen a show which is so painfully mediocre before. While this series has entertained me, watching each episode has been something which I have to motivate myself to do. Probably the most depressing part for me is the art and animation, since they're both really good. You can tell that this is one of those series where the mangaka hands complete creative liberty over to the people producing the show, since the people on board are clearly having a blast with seeing how far they can push the concept. However, while I appreciate experimentation, there also needs to be some room for cohesion. This show awkwardly shifts between the anime -> stop-motion -> live-action formula without ever ceasing to be jarring. I have to watch movies in two parts and even my attention span isn't that short! Also, I'm frustrated by my inability to come up with a joke about this series' title. |

| Open! Open! Open all night! Do it! Do it! Do it all night! Kyouryuu face? Looked so intimidating xD. Well, Shouta, its really understandable. Jurassic parkour? Lol. Late night snack scene was okay. Hmm. Mikan eating day, eh? Looked so yummy. Kyouryuu scared about their trick xd, and landlady reactions indeed dissapointed Kyouryuu xD. Buzz wire challenge, trivia quiz, origami, magnet coin, dat slap! Piggy badminton challenge, tiny Kyouryuu the best Dino. And wow, a nice information about 17th april. They celebrated Dino as a special day! And i might be pass a joke one. I am not a comedian! |

| I see Dino became a man...ehm dinosaur of culture there in the dvd shop ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) and I also like Shouta's taste considering the disc he looked at ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) It hurts my soul seeing Dino trying to fold the paper in half without being able to grab the edges. |
