| THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE. ---------------------------------------- It's out on Amazon Prime Japan. We got Hiroki and Tsukasa introduced as the main characters. What's fascinating about this series revolves around the undeworld activites and the dream of both of the main leads. Yeah, this is definitely one of those psychological shows, kinda getting a familiar vibe with Babylon. The animation style looks alright, nothing too great but works. |

| When I was watching the avant-title of "Babylon", I noticed something was wrong. Psychopass-like opening began and it said the show was "Pet". It seems the broadcaster changed the time table. Very confusing. --- And a very confusing show began. |

| Pretty good first episode, this is definitely one of those shows where you need to watch multiple episodes of to fully understand what's going on though. |
| What an interesting pilot episode. It is definitely striking, especially that mind-control and off-shoot to reality of a person's mind. It's another psychological anime I'll be looking forward to. Looks like those two are the main characters. Damn it, I still did not believe to witness something like that. (That one weird scene.) |

| Wow this was a really interesting start. The op was great and there were a lot of psychological stuff in this episode. Kinda confused as to what this anime is gonna be focusing on but guess it will become clearer later. |

| Pretty meh. The artstyle it's quite ugly (at least Kokkoku the first work from Genos studio looked a bit more eye pleasing) and just like other cheap studios they save on animation when scenes at night or on dark places are running (I could barely see that hand coming out of the barrel in order to understand that that blotch of black and brwon are supposed to be several barrels with more dead bodies in them) Yesterday's Eizouken ni wa Te wo Dasu na! was a magnicient example how to make transitions from one cut to another and give the audience orientation in this fictional world along with immersion. This is the complete opposite (either on purpouse to just enhance the WTF message or just lazy directing) quick cuts with very little animation (although there were some that had some nice animation, but barely nothing substancial happening) no transitions to cue the audience that the story is being presented after a timeskip and very little emphasis (framing) to tell that a couple of characters introduced in the first scene before the OP, are the old guy giving shady jobs and the kid whose soda was tainted by the cigar butt. I can't believe that the same guy that directed Kuragehime, one of my most beloved shows, directed this "thing". I disliked ID: invaded from yesterday with a similar theme, but this one is even on a lower level than that. |

| Well that was... mildly confusing to say the least Bit hard to know what to think about something like this so early on. Could turn out to be great but just as likely to be a trainwreck. Guess we'll just have to wait and see |

| The animation and art were both beautiful! The story really makes me curious to know more. It's very interesting and raises a lot of questions (as first episodes should). Some of the scenes were kind of gay and one was really gay. I hope it stays this way throughout the series. lol. Do all TK songs sound alike? Actually, I don't really care! His songs are fun to listen. |
| I mean, we're obviously not supposed to learn everything right away, and after reading the synopsis one should be able to get the gist of things. In my book it was an intriguing start. |

| I don't understand why people are calling it terrible and dropping it after the first episode. This was clearly a set-up episode for the rest of the series. Also, pretty sure either Hiroki or Tsukasa was the kid in the mental hospital. I also think the guy smoking in the hospital is Katsuragi. Not sure why it's so hard for you all to deduce that. |

| Wait people actually think this episode was confusing and terrible? I only watched it once and understood everything that happened. I guess this will be one of those shows you either hate or love. Anyway this was a pretty cool first episode, will definitely continue watching. |

Yeah I agree. Coming from Eizouken, the directing in this is poor to say the least. I'm probably going to give it a few more episodes, but it's not looking good. Also agree with ID - wasn't particularly interesting but at least it was somewhat coherent. |

| I don't think I could drop it yet. The ending jumped through so many states of mind that the "twist" could not even be real. I enjoy shows that jump around as if it was in the eyes of a schizophrenic person, and this show hasn't proven to me that it will do it wrong or right based on the first episode. |

| WTF!!?? Seriously I don't understand a fucking thing. The introduction was good. After the intro it was so boring. All understand is the anime is about mindfuck. I'm not dropping the anime yet. I'll try 4-5 episodes |

| I guess the “mystery” is what’s going on? Actually I couldn’t even work out who the main character was supposed to be but for me it didn’t really matter as I had no empathy for any of them and found it boring. Wish I hadn’t wasted the time on it. |
