Holy shit though I'm surprised this is even allowed in a shounen magazine let alone shounen jump. Going to be following this until it ends, and I hope this gets an anime one day. |

| Outside of maybe the Shibuya arc from JJK, I can't think of any Shonen Jump series that has gotten as much hype than Chainsaw Man. So many people I've seen on social media singing this series praises that I just had to give it a shot at some point. With the anime on the horizon, this seems like the best time. And already I can see what they're saying, this is a pretty strong start. Denji is pretty quickly established as quite a likable main character, largely through his relationship with Pochita which is super adorable. The art is really strong, far more visceral than most Shonen Jump series already. The chapter's also pretty well-written with all the callbacks, the double contracts one between Denji & Pochita, and all the ways Denji's dreams come true at the end, from the hug to the bread with jam. |

| Finally starting this. It's interesting so far. Denji seems like an interesting character. There was a lot of gore and the artstyle is decent. I'm confused is Pochita dead or has it become a part of Denji? I'm guessing it's the latter. Guess I'm gonna read a bit more. Overall this chapter was a 3/5. |

| A refreshingly brutal, quite compelling start. I've heard many good things about Chainsaw Man so I finally picked it up. I need to confess that this is the first (complete) manga chapter I've ever read; so while I've watched ~4,000 anime episodes (+ some movies) in terms of manga I'm a complete noob. I've read western comics / graphic novels since I was a little kid, but not manga for some reason. The reading from right to left took some getting used to but I read the first 3 chapters in one sitting. Pochita is a very kawaii little demon and Denji is quite an unlucky guy. Or is luck irrelevant and he's been suffering because he just cannot say 'No'? Denji's father owed to the yakuza, he committed suicide and Denji got saddled with his ridiculously high debt. At the end, as was to be expected, Denji died and merged with Pochita. Thankfully the yakuza goons he owed to also died, along with their repulsive oyabun :) |

| Decent enough premise, if a bit rushed. The artist really loves screen tone. The lack of depth and detail in the background of some panels makes the art feel a bit empty, but I'm hoping that'll improve. |

| Same reason as many recent readers, I'll read Chainsaw Man before the anime airs. From the first chapter alone, we're introduced to our protagonist, Denji, a guy with an outrageous level of debt, all from his now-dead father. No parents, relatives, material wealth and only his body long with his devil friend, Pochita. The only thing he could do is sell his organs along with the labour to pay off his debts. Even still, despite having nothing besides his dreams, he is killed right off the bat, all diced up. From here the Chainsawman is born... A human-devil hybrid with a purpose, and now, a proper occupation. Wonderful first chapter, it's a powerful introduction to Denji and his hardships are clearly displayed to us, we'll see how he journey through his life starting from rock bottom. |

| The anime is just around the corner, why read the manga now?? Well simply put, I'm not really a manga reader so I've never had the experience of reading a manga beforehand and seeing it come to life in an anime; and now's my chance to do that- no real reason to of course, other than I just want to feel what it's like. And to do that I'm going to do it with one of the most hyped up manga of all time, with an adaption that looks as though Mappa is going to knock it out of the park. And I know I'm speaking way too early... but judging from this first chapter alone, this could be my favourite piece of fiction ever. It's getting late so I'll just pause for now, I'll probably read the 100+ or so chapters in a day when I have my day off. Again it's too early to tell, but come on it's one of the most popular manga ever, I think it's safe to say that I am at least able to get the hype now. And I do; I fully get the hype. |

That demon dog is so cute though! <3 I decided to start reading the manga before watching the anime that's due to come out soon. This first chapter was great! I really enjoyed it! I'm looking forward to how this is going to develop! |
