Hmm, I think the mood of this episode/show is interesting. Almost everyone seems to be there as part of the club but not everyone seems to want to be there.

Personally, I think that Takigawa guy is the most mysterious and interesting character in the show at the moment. He's just so mysterious and hard to tell his real intentions in the show. Not to mention, I'm wondering if he can influence Minato into archery.

That guy invited main guy in to tend the scar.

100 shots in 100 days?! Main guy refused again about doing Japanese archery.

Main guy thinking about that long hair guy, and the two friends worried about him.

Introduction and trying with holding the bow for the beginners. Ishikawa-san's character is annoyed.

Main guy went to find that long hair guy, who still welcomed him after he ran away from him the night before.

No experience in competition, so kind of impossible for team. Megane guy suggesting to get main guy to join the team, but Ishikawa-san's character not approve of him.

10 months ago... the competition that made him suddenly not able to shot. He originally had confidence and the practice shots were perfect. He cannot hear his sound of archery (tsurune).

Not knowing his own shot... So that long hair guy experienced before. He suggested to do archery with others to recover from his problem.

So that's what he meant by "not exist", he died a year ago. Hah?! It was another guy who died?

He gave main guy the final shot, and made him realize he wants to do archery. That long hair guy also continue doing archery.

Wow, this episode is such a magical captivated. Not sure if it's because the beauty of the sport itself or I just love two guys hugging each other under the moonlight.

Okay, two things i absolutely love about the series (one that got its addition in this episode), both are fairly particular.

- KyoAni puts a lot of care in the animation for the process of shooting/releasing the bow, it looks magnificent, everytime they put additional focus on the movement, i get goosebumps.

- Did you hear that violin OST in the middle of the episode? FIRE! Shades of Kevin Penkin.

Officially in love with the owl man and Who, can't wait to see more of them!

I wasn't expecting Seiya to be so harsh lol, why you gotta do Minato like that. Also, we got a sneak peek of Shuu! I want to meet him, he looks like the stereotypical rival character, but maybe this show will surprise me like how they showed Seiya's darker side...I'm also loving the girls, they're adorable~

Anime was beautiful as usual, but now I gotta collect all them gifs

So far loving this show, hopefully, it doesn't deteriorate in quality like another certain Kyoani sports show...

Don't worry about being lame now, you were always lame anyway!

This series has been such a nice surprise. What a fairy tale vibes episode! Everything in it was done so beautifully and I really felt for the MC.

I'm glad our mystery archer wasn't a ghost *sobs*.

Ok, good that Masaki isn't a ghost xD Really the most intriguing character in this show. Hope he can help Minato to overcome his target panic.

Aside from the plot I'm still enjoying the top notch production, it's the main factor which makes this stand out for me.

Great episode again.

Fantastic direction, absolutely love the archery shots, very elegant but powerful.

They really got me good there, I kinda thought that Masaki was a ghost after the way they built it up but it looks like Masaki is here to stay. xD
I was kinda embarrassed having thought the same thing as Minato. XD

I hope Minato can recover from his target panic.

Nice episode..

To be frank, I thought that master archer was going to be a kami...vanishing into the air.....but glad he wasn't.

Nice hair porn lol.

To bad the episode itself was weirdly paced/rushed, as a result the final scene came off as oddly dramatic for no reason.

I'm only hating Seiya's voice more with time. It's not just that it's so weirdly high, it's that something about how high it is sounds artificial. If you told me he was being autotuned, I'd believe it.

@straggy Funny you say that because the voice acting for Seiya really caught my attention since the first episode. While the pitch maybe higher then some of the other actors, Aoi Ichikawa, for me, has such a calming voice. The same can be said for Uemura-kun too (Minato VA). Personally this quality in their voices/performance has enhanced the calm, gentle but melancholic astmosphere the show has given us so far.
Really a case of different strokes for different folks I think :)

That ghost thing was interesting and I like the atmosphere as a whole. The main theme about target panic is refreshing, it is quite rare to see a sports anime that isn't about newbies trying to win the tournament. Also, the relationship between characters is interesting, it isn't just straightforward friendship (if friendship at all) but something more complex. Owl guy is sure intriguing too.

Nice episode. I thought Masaki was a ghost too ! XD Nice "twist".

The two first episodes was like an introduction I feel. The real start seems to be in the next episode. Can't wait to see more of the other characters.

Ah and it looks like Minato and Seiya have some background relationships problems, but I didn't understand very well the scene when Seiya told Minato he could blame him. Beside, he seems to feel guilty about something...
Well, can't wait for the next episodes !

I loved this so much!

Minato couldn't forget the dashing, handsome young man he met under the moonlight, and even though he pretty much ran away at first, he went back there as soon as he could in the next day, and he found a kindred spirit.

After all, Masa-san (he is already shortening his name!) had/has the same problem that Minato does, but I was sad when he said that he didn't exist in Minato's "real" life, but I want to believe they are going to get even closer. I swear that for a moment I was already crying, I knew that it was strange, and I didn't want to believe it, but just like Minato I thought that Masa-san was a spirit, a memory left behind, that was just going to disappear like that, but now that the fear is gone I can say that Minato jumping in his arms, holding him, and asking him to stay there; was really, really, really cute!!!

Good episode. The tone of this episode was relaxing yet interesting to watch.

Loved the ghost bait. It kinda did catch me off guard, not gonna lie.

The music was really nice in this episode. Whoever composed this did a good job.

As a guy who is normally disappointed with KyoAni shows, this one is off to a solid start. I'm curious to see where they go from here.

When I saw the first episode of this a week ago, I wasn't sure if I would continue watching this, but this episode is slightly better, so hopefully more exciting things will happen in the 3rd episode.

Also, there's a character with the same name as me, so I can't really drop it now, can I?

I liked this episode better than the first episode, and the reason is not about Minato's determination to get rid of his target panic, it's because of the scene between Masaki and Minato in Moonlight. Beautiful! It's great that Minato is trying to overcome his target panic with his tsurune :) let's see how this goes.

Seiya, you bastard! You made Minato cry :'(

It was a good episode. Better than the previous one if I'm honest. Also, I found the OST during this episode really good. Not to mention that the scenes under the moonlight were amazing, artistically speaking.

But man, I really though Masaki was an spirit or something xD But well... honestly, I think that concept could have worked well as a psychological factor for Minato to not surrender due to his target panic. But it's ok, he's an interesting character so I guess I'm happy he's not a ghost.

P.S.: I can't really tell if there is anything like a owl with cat paws... probably yes but it looked odd, being honest.

Lmao at the supernatural fake out. I got baited so hard; that was well done. Minato having met somehow who has gone through the same thing, as well as just being a kind of inspiring dude, has motivated him enough to want to continue. Seiya really gave Minato a blast of shit, but he did kinda ask for it and I'd say he needed to hear it.

Good episode!

Production Value, Art/Animation, was top-notch as expected but the Sound Department, with aplenty of soundtracks to offer solely in this episode alone, did a magnificent job too! I must say, though, the soundtracks sounded very fimiliar to that of Violet Evergarden and both are glorious!
Takigawa-san has finally managed to raise the spirits of our main character, and I’m glad that it’s been done with relatively quick and with some fairly good directing. If he really is to retire now, it’ll be a pity but I think the episode hinted that he might just continue for a little longer at least until our main character moves on from him.
What’s up with Seiya though and what’s with the atonement? I hope we get to see this in the coming episodes sooner than later. Other club members so far have been kept in the dark, so I’m looking forward to seeing more backstory and screentime of them.

I knew that guy wasn't a ghost, but I really wish he was. It would be kind of nice to see a ghost teach the kid, and disappear when their mutual wish has been fulfilled.

The characters are simple and easy to look at. (Didn't think KyoAni was capable of doing that).

The cousins are kind of hard to look at, especially the pink haired guy. Wish they'd disappear somehow.

I said this in another anime's episode discussion as well, but I am just looking for something watchable. So far, this anime is watchable.

I couldn't say that better! You summarized all my thoughts!
And yeah, I almost teared up at that scene too, I really couldn't let him disappear like that. I was screaming at Minato to stop Masa-san!
And omg, their interactions are so cute, I can't. It doesn't feel like cheap fan service, and that's the great thing about KyoAni - they take their characters seriously, and give them actual thoughts and feelings, as seen in Hibike Euphonium as an example.

Yeah, I thought the same the first time I saw that owl, but then I realized it was very similar to the one that Harry Potter owned and effectively it's the same. Its name is "Snowy Owl" (Bubo scandiacus) and they have very cute "cat paws". <3

While others thought that Seiya is an asshole, I actually prefer a character like him. I already had eyes for him the first time I saw the visual novel pv on KyoAni yt channel. I also like his va, he sounded calm and collected but sometimes he also sounded like he hide a lot of things. Seiya looked like the type of character that has a smart mind, he is also straight forward and doesn't afraid to say what on his mind, he remind me of my friend, they basically similar in all aspect except that my friend doesn't do kyudo.

And I knew since then, that he was the one I'm going to ship with Minato, once the anime is out and also already guess that Masaki is going to get in the way somehow XD but I love Masa-san too, though I think Seiya and Minato is my favorite character in this show. And it happens Minato share the same va as Hiro while Seiya share the same va as Mitsuru, and it says something 'cause I also ship those two XD

Anyway, this episode interest me more than the first one. I really love that scene when they were at the shrine doing kyudo under the moonlight. Also, I somewhat like that moment when Minato and Seiya fight, it just felt so intense XD I don't believe we already got fujobait moments when we're only on episode 2, not that I want to complain hehehe.

In short, I'll definitely going to continue watching this and just hope there'll be plenty shippy moments like in this ep keukeukeu.

Interesting episode that expanded upon the setting while also doing well to reveal Minato's past. It was nice seeing the club member's reactions at seeing the bows. The insight into how to maintain the bows was interesting. The club members though sure are a interesting bunch. It was surprising that Masaki went through target panic as well. Seiya's dark side though sure was menacing. The mixup about Masaki though was certainly amusing. Meeting Masaki sure proved useful to Minato and allowed him to confront his fears. Looking forward to seeing how he will overcome it.
