| THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE. ---------------------------------------- I'm really glad to see Ikuya getting along so well with the others. That little party and drinking showed him a much lighter mood with Makoto. Looks like the World Game competitions will be very tough with the selection of competitors. Haruka probably knew this from the start but it's still a reality. I like his determination to succeed though. That Albert guy is on another level compared to the others, even Haruka. |

| Mikoshiba? Is she (new character) younger sister of the Mikoshiba brothers? She said she also does swimming, too, besides arcade game. She's strong, but someone else (foreigner) is stronger than her. It seems like she knows him? Solo match, I'm glad there's no tense like before even though Kimura-san's character talks to Uchiyama-san's character's friends the same. She's a high schooler, it seems, and her team came to visit her brother's team. She's a captain. She challenged main character immediately. That foreigner came to their university, too. Enjoying lunch w. main guy at cafeteria. He learns fast on the chopstick. Highschoolers are prepared for their, too. Hirakawa-san's character is excited for the future. Uchiyama-san's character help tending red hair guy's baby niece. Mamo's character visiting shark school. Mamo's character's coach in Sydney is relative of Miyata-san's character?! Kouhais worried about Hosoya-san's character, but Mamo's character reassuring them that he will be ok. Two legendary swimmers on TV. The blogger is one of them?! lol @ PKH. The guy who does coach supporting that little boy, who got sick but doesn't want to lose to his rival. So that foreigner is a super swimmer (fastest in the world from Sweden). | I looooved this episode, again an episode that felt like free! again to me and my boy Rin came back (to see haru hehe) and also seeing Ikuya and Hiyori being friendly and nice to the others is great! Dang, that swedish Albert guy, did not expect him to be that great. I mean, now Haru is finally getting some challenge because he has always been the best swimmer but, I totally did not see that coming. I am super excited about seeing what episode 10 will bring, only 3 weeks left now :( I dont want free to end again.. but hopefully kyoani has plans on milking more of it lmao. ALSO, what the heck Mikhail is "related" to Ai (sort of) that was a huge surprise, seems like Rin was surprised too. And I also had to idea that Ryuji used to be swimming in Iwatobi :0 |

| The end was way too dramatic, did Haru really not expect there to be other amazing swimmers? But I really like Albert so far! Overall this episode was so much fun! Introducing Mikoshiba sister! Such a cutie! I hope she and Gou meet one day, haha. Ikuya with the baby melted my heart! I'm so happy to see Iwachuu group plus Hiyori get along so well now! Rin meeting with Samezuka boys and his family again, getting a bit more screen time! Only 3 episodes to go! |
| Damn, Albert is in another league and despite being such a beast he still seems to be a chill dude, I like him. And I wonder how many girls fangasmed when Makoto catched Misaki xD Very enjoyable episode again. I agree with the post above, this felt really like Free . |

| Albert was pretty cool. Again appreciate kyoani using real English VA’s and having it sound mostly natural. Happy that best boy Rin is back. Tbh I was actually kinda excited to see Mikoshiba sister swim since they have never shown a girl swim lol. I mean yeah whatever this is the male fan service show but still. |
| Haru lost to Albert, I guess it was inevitable since the guy is the WORLD record holder and Haru is just small timer. Alber is such a beat even in games how can you beat that Haru? But why does he speak in an American accent even though he's from Sweden?? Weird. That Steve is really cold to Rin. |

| Didn't Haru come second? That's still good! There is no reason to act like it's the end of the world. Also, did the characters always sound so fake or am I just noticing it now? It feels like they are trying too hard to sound cute or cool or tough. |

| "Haru lost?" So dramatic XD Sure Makoto doesn't know that the guy who won is a world record holder, but still, why is it so surprising? The world is vast, no way Haru is the best, even if he's at the top. Glad to see everyone getting along. Hiyori is so much better without the drama. There are so many characters in this series, but I don't really care for Iwatobi HS stuff, unfortunately. Then again, I've never been much interested in Nagisa (had to look up his name cuz I only remembered his last name for some reason OTL) or Rei. Surprised that Mikhail is distantly(?) related to Nitori. Although, is that necessary information? |

| The OST when Haru and Albert were swimming reminded of Stranger Things’ as well XD The Mikoshiba siblings are a riot! No swimming Rinrin yet but man his faces were such a delight to see! I can’t wait for him to meet Asahi and Ikuya actually so they’d all be friends! :-) I loved all the smiling Ikuya and how he and Hiyori hang out w the others. Ikuya w the baby was so precious!!! <33333 Excited for the next ep! |

| I'm LOVING this new season, every new episode is an improvement on the last and all of them are so good they make me emotional for some reason. I usually graded all of the Free! seasons with an 8 out of 10 (which is a very high grade coming from me), but boy, I think I'm gonna give it a 10 this time. Maybe it's because this season does a very good job of distributing the time among all the characters, maybe it's because seeing them out of the typical high school context REALLY works (seeing both Tokyo and Sydney in the same episode is just magical), or maybe it's because this time around the stakes feel quite high, I don't know, but I'm enjoying myself like never before. It seems like they're not gonna show the All-Japan competition in the next episode. I thought maybe they would wait until the final episode but now I'm thinking they will maybe show it in the second to last episode in order to save the very last episode for some character development and emotional stuff, and maybe setting up a new season. So.... maybe it's not the right place to ask about this but, how are you guys feeling about another season? Do we have any news? |

| Forget everything I said about the previous episodes. Albert is the best. This season is the best. The drama was only a way to test my patience and then introduce me to him. There is a god. I give +1 on the score card for every following episode where Albert is adorable. Gimme more Albert plz |
| I skip the show for like 1 week and this happens. OMFG. Albert is HOT HOT HOT. Nitori and Mikhail being relatives? I can see it. I was surprised for a sec and then it all made sense. Makoto being protective and dependable as always is really cute. :) He's exactly the kind of teacher young kids need early on to believe in themselves and reach new heights. I've always been lucky when it comes to teachers and I know what a difference the right teacher (or coach) can make in a kid, whether it's studies or sports. :) Haru getting beaten by that yummy Swedish pike was great. Why? Because if Haru were to beat him or catch up eventually, it makes it all the more meaningful, given this guy's track record. :D Another highlight was finding out there's yet another Mikoshiba. Love all 3 of them, haha. I wish I'd seen the Mikoshiba sister race Haru, just for fun. Not like we really see girls swimming in the show, so why not? Sad there's only a few eps left. :( I want 13 more, kthnx. |

| And here I thought I would finally see a girl swimming in Free :/ Way better than the previous episodes but the final scene was unnecessarily dramatic. It was to be expected for Haru to lose against the guy who has the world record so I don't know why they made all the people look so shocked about it. |

| people shit all over free for its manservice but seriously the animation is really good and fluid always so visually pleasing to watch also really really love asahi's VA. i think the problem with dive to the future is that with such a massive ensemble cast there really isn't enough screen time in 12 episodes for all of them. so many characters i want more of :( ahem rin :( |

| This was a feel-good episode! It was so adorable to see Ikuya carry Tsukushi (Asahi's nephew). It melted my heart just to see the look in Ikuya's eyes, and Ikuya saying that he wanted a younger brother as he himself is the youngest child in the family T___T I think Ikuya would be a doting father someday! ^^ And it was hilarious when Akane said Ikuya could "take [her] little brother," and Ikuya automatically had the .____. face at Asahi LOL. It was such a warm atmosphere to see Ikuya, Hiyori, Asahi, Makoto, and Kisumi eat together at Akane's cafe <33 I love it when they're all friends, without drama. And they can casually talk about others who are absent, like Rin. It makes me feel warm that these characters are connected through their swimming community, and they can enjoy each other's company :) Albert seems like a relaxed character. We haven't heard him speak Japanese, but I hope he has learned at least something to communicate! Albert's lucky Haru understood English to help our Swedish swimmer buy a meal. It was pleasant to see the pair eat together, despite being strangers. :-) And it was shocking for everyone to witness Haru lose, as he's usually won in swimming matches... It was shocking to see how far ahead Albert was, and Haru came in second while heavily breathing. - Haru usually finishes on a more relaxed note, so it must be the first time to see him try so hard, and be so behind... Poor Misaki wasn't feeling well x( Thank goodness Coach Tachibana was there to catch the little guy! I hope Misaki gets to compete against his friend, Natsume Kaoru. -Since the name is mentioned, maybe we'll see him?? :O I think the Samezuka boys were watching The Rat's Life 2?? LOL. The cliche trope never gets old xD It was pleasant to see Rin again, and he even gave Momo a souvenir from Australia! :D - Surprise to learn that Mikhail and Ai are relatives. Mikhail's last name is Makarovich-Nitori... Maybe he adopted a spouse's surname? And it was fun to meet Isuzu! She's a great gamer (lost to Albert :<) and the coach of her high school swimming team! Hope we see her dream fulfilled of racing against Haru someday. And it's great to see her and Seijuuro get along. Hope to see the trio siblings on screen! Looking forward to seeing Rin interact with his friends again soon!! |
