 A Kickstarter campaign launched by Sekai Project has surpassed its initial goal of 100,000 USD. The campaign aims to create a 20-minute OVA based on NEKO WORKs' visual novel series Nekopara. The funds raised currently stands at 273,585 USD, and an extra 10 minutes will be added to the episode for every additional 100,000 USD raised, with the maximum duration of an hour. The campaign, which was launched on December 28, will end on February 10. Synopsis What's NEKOPARA? Why, it's a cat paradise! Kashou Minaduki, the son of a long line of Japanese confection makers moved out to open his own shop "La Soleil" as a patisserie. But upon moving out, hidden amongst his things were two of the catgirls, Chocola and Vanilla, that the family had been raising. When he tried to send them back, they begged and pleaded until he gave in, and now they've opened La Soleil together. With two catgirls who really, REALLY love their master trying their very best and occasionally failing—a heartful comedy opens for business! | Honestly, I have a feeling this is going to be really disappointing The Nekopara games have fantastic H-scenes. That was really their main selling point. But the slice of life segments were all really mediocre. They mostly made me sit there rolling my eyes waiting for the good parts to start When you have a game where you only really care about having hot sex with horny catgirls, and then make an all ages OVA out of it, then as a producer you probably aren't really understanding what the games' main selling point was. You're literally adapting all of its negatives and none of its positives like this. That said I know there are some pretty crazy Nekopara fans out there who will probably eat this up simply because it's Nekopara so in terms of sales I'm sure this'll be a huge success anyway. But personally I doubt this can ever be better than like 3/10 or so (as that was what I gave the all-ages volume of the VN) That aside, seeing a $100k Kickstarter be fully funded almost immediately was pretty funny |

| It's nice to know that an OVA of Nekopara is going to be produced. My brother likes Nekopara so I'm definitely showing it to him. Despite me not knowing much of the VN, (I only watched one episode of a let's play of it) I'm excited to watch it because the anime looks super cute and I love cute things. |
