JustCallMeMouse's review is surely a joke, right? Why must so many dumb ass people hunt down and rate all short anime and apply the same mindset to those that they do going into lengthier shows? Boggles the mind. |

I seriously don't understand these reviewers acting as if this was supposed to be more than a simple experiment. "Oh no, I lost 30 seconds of my life", no shit, I bet you wasted more time writing that silly comment. Anyway, it's impressive how minimal traits can be perceived as art by us due to our previous exposition to the idea of a car accident. Minimalism is an interesting artistic movement. |

It was quite a funny little short, though I wonder if I either lack the knowledge to grasp the moral of this, or rather the moral was not set in place by the creator. Feel free to enlighten me if I am wrong about the lack of meaning. |

Just seemed like some one's short test animation to me. Nothing really either that special or particularly bad. Not sure why all the strong reactions in either direction. |

I constantly wonder similar things. It seems like so many people are too dumb to understand that not all anime is going to be deep dramatic stuff. You aren't going to get deep character development or complex plots out of short experimental films or ecchi comedies or action OVAs, stop expecting such out of these things, you might actually enjoy yourself more. |

It was... something. It doesn't make any sense. People are born and get old, wow, nobody knew that, sooo deep. But for some reason I kinda enjoyed it? It was calming. |

I only did this for the MAL badge. But, I feel like I should perform a metaphysical analysis of 001. We begin with a windshield wiper wiping presumably water off of what is presumably a motorized vehicle. This display of artistic mastery lasts for eight to nine seconds, after which our first victim comes flying head first at the windshield wiper. Immediately, his skin is torn as he is relentlessly from his mortal body, and he is left as only a skull. Ignoring the fact that the windshield wipers would have to be moving at a particularly high velocity to accomplish such a feat, the victim is tossed aside and we move on. Just three seconds after the first victim, another poor soul is launched at the vehicle and suffers a similar fate. This victim hereafter referred to as person 2 interestingly enough makes a clapping sound when he is being assaulted by a windshield wiper exerting many many Newtons of force. Person 3 yet again falls at the miraculous might of the windshield wiper, yet almost sounds like a bored middle-aged man yawning as he slips into the sweet release of death. The last victim sings as he is brutally murdered, almost as if he wanted this all along. In conclusion, 001 is only worth it for the MAL badge and has absolutely no redeeming factors. It's only 37 seconds though, so it's not like I went into it expecting a masterpiece. 2/10 Story: 1/10 Art: 4/10 Sound: 3/10 Characters: 1/10 Enjoyment: 3/10 Raw score: 2.4/10 Final score: 2/10 To see how I believe this show stacks up against other anime I have seen, click here. |
