Glad to have been seeing more TTGL haters lately, thought I was alone in such a take. It is like the most circlejerked anime I've ever seen. lol
I'll keep it short since I don't want to fill your comments section with an obnoxious wall of text. Most of these characters come down to flanderization or never being fully exploited:
Annie: I feel like Isayama handled Annie in a really poor way, and the viewer doesn't get to empathize with her on a meaningful way, even after all of the Marley stuff that goes down. Annie is really strange honestly, her infamous pie scene and flashback generic story dump in the horseride scene feels like a shoehorned attempt at building characterization; she felt really intimidating on season one and two, being this really skilled fighter who constantly stomped Eren on hand-to-hand combat, but she gets strangely sidelined and never fully exploited.
Nobara: ...I'm honestly just not sure what Gege wanted to do with Nobara, especially knowing how Jujutsu Kaisen ended, it never feels like she comes to fruition? She's kinda stuck as this potential woman alongside potential man Megumi. She just feels purposeless. Gege himself is a potential man, funnily enough, JJK felt like this big thing and it poofed out of existence as fast as it came.
Maki: Same thing as Nobara. I feel like Maki is a bit better though.
CC: CC is this absurd mixture of many characters and concepts, she's Lelouch's mistress, she's pizza advertisement lady, she's a weird girl trying to get used to normal life stuff, she's also this witch for some reason, she has a tragic past; none of which get explored in a meaningful or interesting way; later on, she's just Lelouch's waifu and a constant addon for him.
Frieren: I have a Sousou no Frieren review if you wanna read that. She feels less like a character and more like the attempt of five raccoons in a trenchcoat at writing a character who has to tackle grief and loss. I don't get anything from Frieren and her "growth" feels very artificial and faux.
But I hate Kamina more than any of these characters, of course. :D
It's wonderful to hear from fellow fans of Detective Conan..
I'm up for a chat with you about other Conan characters anytime..
Also excuse me for posting my rely in comment box, because I don't want to derail the thread or anything like that..
May it bless you with enough free time to pursue all your hobbies and passions!
Hope you had a good Christmas
P.S Seems someone is trying to do a Kajiri Kamui Kagura translation (if you care)
Even got some screenshots in English too so here's to hoping
(I need to get back to Dies Irae my ass is slacking sadly 😭)
