I was kind of surprised that Godai came out and said he loves Kyoko, especially this early in the series. Mitaka seems like an interesting rival for Godai, but neither one of them have a chance until Kyoko get's over Souichiro. And, it looks like that's gonna take a while.

I'm still wondering why Godai didn't just say that he didn't know he confessed to her T_T
Oh well, that's usually how anime works ;__;

I'm surprised this was a 1980s anime. All the clothes and stuffs seem incredibly up-to-date. The only thing I can think of is a lack of a PC in the house but if I hadn't seen the date I'd never have thought this was 1980s and also the plot seems incredibly relevant. It's amazing!

Yeah... It seems no one ever works out misunderstandings in anime by just admitting a mistake or being straightforward. So frustrating, hey? D:

I can't believe Godai said tennis wasn't 'manly'. I love tennis. Tennis guys are just as manly as any other guy playing a sport, haha. Either way, this episode and Kyoko's thoughts in this episode totally make it seem like Godai's going to completely lose. But that coach seems so arrogant! Or just over-confident? He bugs me.

Apparently you did for 20 episodes.

Anyways, as if it wasn't hard enough, now there's competition. I did appreciate the sober, completely unromantic love confession.

LOL Same
I hope he has some imperfections ( like a phobia or something), then I might like him a bit, but I'm still staying strong for Godai!

He reminds me of Shutaro. Very perfect and with a fear that is constantly exploited.

Mitaka doesn't look like a rival, he is a total opposite of Godai on most aspects. He definitely feels fishy

OK, it was a bit of a slog to get through the fist half dozen episodes, but man does it seem to pick up.

I’m used to Ranma (which I love), where character development and relationships are verrrrrry slow. To have a main character confess to another like this was unexpected.

I blazed through the next 5 episodes after this, glad I didn’t give up. Fun show for sure.

Ok, it is getting better, I suppose. But I'm having a little KOR flashback in this episode. Is it just me, or does the tennis coach look like Kyosuke and Kyoko sure looks like Madoka. Maybe I'm just biased. ;)

I'm starting to enjoy when Hanae makes fun of Yuusaku because that's the only way his pathetic self becomes bearable.

Shun isn't as bad as I was expecting but maybe he gets worse? Poor Kyouko if that happens, another loser in her life.

Damn Mendo really grew up and is a tennis Coach now,  jokes aside. I have a bad feeling about the new guy when they called him 'Lady killer'. Godai has competition now

Who wear shorts, shorts! Kyoko wears shorts, shorts! She looked banging in the beginning of the second half of the episode.

When Godai says 'I love you' (sober) all the tenets are happy it cracks me up. They are like teenagers. It reminds of my old apartment gossip everywhere.

'I never want to forget him
If I were ever to forget Soichiro
Then he would truly be dead '

That's some great dialogue

It took Kyoko san several months to reveal her tenants that she is a widow and then she tells the same to Mitaka san mere days after she met him.

If I saw Kyoko san in such clothes as in the begining of the episode, I'd freeze too.

It's a neat episode. Godai's "accident" with the ice delivery sums up his present countenance towards life; rough, meager, abrupt but with a little sweet sprinkle of dreams. Let's see if his countenance towards life, and subsequently towards (and because of) Kyoko. I feel there is something deep, aging like wine in casks.

Call me a fatass romanticist who is just buttering over this series just for the sake of, but somewhere, a part of my heart feels it, something which I can't make out of properly. I think I should get some sleep rn...

Final single digit episode, there’s a lot to go but it will go by in the blink of an eye. And this was a nice one for Kyoko since she finally got out of her slump and seemed to be enjoying life while taking tennis lessons, her paired with Ichinose is pretty fun too, love the ass slap lol. But along with the tennis lessons came a new character, Mitaka, and boy if he don’t have Mendou written all over him lol, looks like others feel the same in this thread. So far he just seems like a nice handsome guy, but Mendou did at first too, I don’t think it’ll be long until he exposes his inner goofiness, for now tho he’s proving to be a legit love rival.

And dayum Kyoko with the daisy dukes! She was looking hot but Yuusaku’s reaction absolutely killed me, honestly I’d react the same way lol. But man I really wasn’t expecting him to openly say he loves Kyoko while sober, I thought a drunken confession was the best we were gonna get for a while, but I guess the possibility of Mitaka stealing his girl was enough to draw it out of him, I’m happy for Yuusaku but it definitely wasn’t the time or place for it, thankfully this just led to a good moment between Kyoko and Mitaka even after the accident boob grab, but Yuusaku’s position isn’t necessarily better after he was able to say it, gotta say things are getting really interesting though!

I love it whenever Ichinose imitates Kyoko haha.. And now.. a complication with a love triangle, as if it wasn't already complicated enough but kinda excited. And Kyoko admits that she doesn't want to stop loving Soichiro because she doesn't want him to die.. i wonder how this will be overcome.
