Anime_Name said: Not really, Blood-C is so much better than Blood+, but then again you have to understand that this anime is much closer to a CLAMP manga than a title from the Blood "franchise", except for the main concept, being : Saya, a vampire, exterminates chiropterans for the count of humans while being despised and feared/used by some of them. What if I don't consider being much closer to a CLAMP manga beneficial to the Blood series? He is even wrong at that. Apart from art style and folk references, this has nothing even close to the "usual clamp manga" style of storytelling(which usually would involve dark and coherent plot with subtle foreshadowings). And then there's the fact that CLAMP storytelling does NOT fit this show, even. CLAMP stuff is heavy into metaphors, folklore references and mysticism/fatalism. I was at first VERY MUCH SO intrigued by the idea of CLAMP doing the blood anime(considering they had quite a few very good mood-shift twists in their manga, notably TRC, where we had a a cheerful and happy atmosphere of happy-go-lucky adventurers with some foreshadowing of something wrong out there and they turned it into dark messed up mindscrew with cast of liars, sadomasochists and broken people in a matter of one chapter and one simple plot revelation putting everything into its correct place.) However so far BloodC is as subtle as getting punched to the face with a log of wood. I bet they are trying something similar, but it is already screwed up and cliched/shallow/stupid/weak due to everything being one dimensional and unconvincing. |

The titles within the Blood franchise are not interconnected so watching one shouldn't lessen the impact of another. In this case though, watching B+ would only make a person realize just how Crappy BloodC is(hey maybe thats what C stands for!) Not really, Blood-C is so much better than Blood+, but then again you have to understand that this anime is much closer to a CLAMP manga than a title from the Blood "franchise", except for the main concept, being : Saya, a vampire, exterminates chiropterans for the count of humans while being despised and feared/used by some of them. Honestly, I first watched Blood : The Last Vampire back in the days when it was first released and found the movie totally overrated, mainly because of its trite script and the action overdose. Then I watched Blood+ when it was released too and found it plain bad because the plot goes nowhere, the characters are utterly undevelopped and uninteresting and the direction atrocious except for the Russia arc which is two levels above all the other arcs in the series and the France arc which is just about average. At the time everyone that watched this series found it mediocre at beat, bad most of the time, but it seems that all the hate was lost in time and now it is considered a relatively good show - thing it never was. If you want proof watch it again and cry. And I don't even speak about the live-action movie, which is just utter crap made by one of Luc Besson's lackeys. That's why I've always and I still believe Blood is not a good franchise but this new anime really piques my curiosity because it finally goes back to the roots (namely Blood : The Last Vampire) in terms of gruesomeness/horror and introduces a slice-of-life approach that was present at the very beginning of Blood+ and weirdly disapeared after the first half-season, mixed with a CLAMPish mystery/folklore atmosphere that meshes very well with the background of the title. So for now, Blood-C is far, far better than Plus (not counting that the direction is finally decent which makes a huge difference), and even though I understand the character of Saya-C can put some people off, remember that it could be worst, she could have no character (B:TLV) or be a whiny little "Shinjiesque" brat (B+) so I'd rather have the new one On top of that, I think we should let this series some time since the first big development revealing Saya's powers hasn't happened yet and it will change a lot of things just like it did in Blood+ (or not). In this case, I guess her foster father will die and Fumito will betray her as he seems to be a main antagonist in the series. Different of taste not a fact. I found the movie half good too because the characters weren't there(saya was just a terminator with a sword really, some may find that cool but it really lacked meaning) and it just showed a girl killing a monster nothing more than that. But Blood+ is a very good show. You didn't like it but many did. Saying the plot goes nowhere is pure horse shit since it had a plot that even had more than just killing the bad guy and also had a nice conclusion. Where exactly should the plot have go? You must be blind if you are seeing nothing. Characters uninteresting? Hardly. Quite realistic characters at that, a lot better than a lot of other anime with fighting in them and the main characters were developed very realistically and steadily, so the undeveloped was in your imagination. Maybe you just wanted to watch something else and got frustrated. When most people clearly see that this series until now is clearly a lot shittier than Blood+ ever was it means there's a good possibility that your taste is the one that's strange. It doesn't matter if it's Clamp or not. Maybe you have crazy love for Clamp but mediocre staff are mediocre. If that's how all Clamp shows are then all of them are mediocre. Anyway those blood little capsules we see must be the blood that guy is putting on those cube things. In the end another episode of all the same but the monster actually talked a little more. I guess there are staff she will remember that hopefully change this show a little. Just don't leave whatever revelation for the last two episodes because this is getting annoying. The plot moves slower than a snail. And can't this girl get into red eye mod from the start instead of letting her ass get kicked and people die before he actually starts getting useful? Always the same stupid way of fighting. Teacher gets more and more obvious about not being just a teacher. The same can be said about the coffee guy too though. |

About the anoying singing well its saya´s way to deal with reality(people dying etc...) its seems to start no having effect, she does stop singing when she gets to the "happy people part"(not so for the baker) . About the "deal" the monsters talk about well it could be reffering to some old agreement(we appear from time to time eat a couple of people up and then go back to sleep) Also the men that died in this episode seem well "out of place" what are they doing fishing? and one of them says "this isn´t what they told me" hum........... strange . The "Red eye mode" seems to leave her in some batlle frenzy mode were she forgets much of what she did and loses control seems a last resort thing she has and could be the "hatred" thing the unseen narrator talks about . |

Their works are many things but coherency has never been one of their strongest areas (even in their early works). Not to mention the total lack of subtlety in a variety of their more popular titles (Angelic Layer and Chobits spring to mind). Their mysticism is incredibly heavy-handed and frankly, the storytelling in this show seems like the eventuality they've been drifting towards for a long time. Nanase is in charge of writing the show, you can hardly distance CLAMP storytelling from the Blood-C story since it's been crafted by CLAMP's primary storyteller. There's nothing wrong with enjoying their work, they hit a lot of right notes and it's understandable why they're such a popular group. But they can turn out duds just like anyone else and frankly, this doesn't seem like their strongest effort despite having many of the hallmarks found in other CLAMP titles. They seem to be functional thermometers but it's fairly implicit that there's more to them. Tsutsutori straight up admitted last week that she was a scientist (a researcher in an area that is not chemistry) and that she was only at the school for said research. Fumito we know less about, but he's coming across as increasingly sinister imho. There's just something about that niko~niko look... |

The blood "capsules" are part of the Galileo thermometers we keep seeing. They seem to be functional thermometers but it's fairly implicit that there's more to them. Well the Galileo thermometers could act as a metaphor for the persona inside Saya and the balance between the "happy goffy" saya and the red eyes monster kiling one because this seems to go arount the theme of how much can you change a person nature before you create another completly new person . |

Big TokixSaya scene (he's so crushing on her ♥ But that was obvious since episode 1. Loved the fact that she just stayed on top of him, with her knees digging into his stomach as she twists and turns, LMAO.), a good fight, and learned a couple things, so I enjoyed the episode. Only thing that bothered me was the fact her friends were never seen again until the end of the episode. If my friend ran away saying something about a dog, and then didn't come back to eat lunch, I wouldn't just ignore it. And it sure as hell seemed like they were in viewing range of her leaping from tree branch to tree branch without the use of her hands o_0 Coffee guy is officially creepy (what a pedo! Doing that kinda shit with your friends - WHO IS A PRIEST - daughter), teacher keeps getting creepier, dad is keeping quiet about something, and it looks like BTLV is tied to this story in some way. |

Given most of the shots seem to show the bulbs either sinking or floating (as bulbs in a Galileo thermometer are want to do) it could definitely work as a balance metaphor. One extremity or the other certainly doesn't seem to be achieving an equilibrium for Saya at this point. It could also point toward the extremities involved in the nature vs. nurture debate that has also been raised in the Galileo thermometer scenes. Or perhaps, more obviously, as it's a device reliant on buoyancy there's always "sink or swim" lol. Or maybe, since this is a thermometer we're talking about, it could represent the clement temperature required to achieve a particular result (such as in an experiment or a recipe). It could mean a lot of things at this point, come to think about it. :P LadyOrihime said: looks like BTLV is tied to this story in some way. Not necessarily. More awful singing. That is the only horror element in Blood C. Saya has a super sayan mode. More people died, but no tentacle rape this time. Disappointing. I demand a tentacle rape scene. That is the only thing that can save the show. P.S. I told you Mokona is going to appear :) |

it improved. Still has that singing but she isn't smiling. Things are slowly starting to change. It's like the school teacher saying "everything is same like always". So why didn't her friends check up on her later when she didn't return for lunch? And didn't anyone see her climbing the tree like that? It's like Hidan No Aria again. Flaws visible like the morning sun. Rants aside, Tokizane is really HOT! And he sure has a big crush on Saya. |

I understand what you're saying, I simply feel it's too early to ascertain the exact intent behind the inclusion of these moments in the series. |

Okay, I'm not defending this show or anything... it's been dull to this point, but obviously you haven't watched all that many vampire anime; I mean Vampire Princess Miyu had "vampires" just like these if not weirder, so really the creatures are the least to complain about. Then again, Vampire Princess Miyu was even more boring than this, so I don't sugest watching it. As for the episode itself, it's an improvement over the first three... and gives me a bit of hope that it won't be as snooze inducing as Miyu was. However, why the hell did it take so long to start... seriously three episodes almost identical to one another in nature before something of significance happens?! |

Sakky007 said: If you take a good look at Kisaragi Saya's sword it's the same as the one from Saya of Blood:The Last Vampire. They're both katana, but Kisaragi Saya's weapon is a far more distinctive piece than Otonashi Saya's. At a glance the tsuka look similar, but I'd venture that there are more points of difference than similarity in terms of design elaboration. For comparison. I certainly would not rule out a BTLV connection of some sort given what we saw in this episode, but I'm not sure if we can ascertain the depth of this connection so early on in the series. Sakky007 said: Saya from BTLV is a half blood chiropteran/vampire whatever you want it to be. It depends on on which aspects of the extended BTLV universe you consider canonical. In the novels, Saya was the result of a breeding experiment between human and chiropteran (making her half-blooded). The movie implies but does not elaborate on Saya's mixed-blood. In BTLV2000 she is stated to be an incomplete clone of the last original chiropteran, only able to become "full-blooded" by devouring another incomplete clone (Maya). She is not technically half-blooded in BTLV2000, merely "flawed". The 12 episode number count comes from the BD/DVD listings (six releases, two episodes each). The series is only set to be 1-cour at this point, regardless of the specific episode count. I imagine if it were extremely popular an extension of the series might be considered, but I wouldn't hold my breath in that regard. |

Its ok to watch when your bored and killing time or just for the mindless gore but its not like its anything spectacular~ Dont get me wrong though I enjoy watching this every week but Im STILL waiting for something interesting to happen like I REALLY, REALLY, REALLY want her friends to see her do her "Duties" *cough* Killing monsters *cough* and yeah they would freak!!! I hope Tokizone (Was that his name?) gets some more screen time hes one of the only characters Im interested in!!! Whats making it an average-y kinda show is that its basicly following a routine :) It goes like: Wake up. Talk to father. Go to cafe and eat breakfast with annoying cafe guy. (Waste of 5 mins in my opinion... I dont even like that guy hes annoying!) Sing on way to school. See mysterious dog. Get to school and chat with friends. Eat lunch with friends. Go home and get sword. Start killing monsters. END At least were getting somewhere with the "Honor The Covenant" thing the dying monsters are saying and I think annoying cafe guy has something to do with those monsters!!! Its just a hunch though but I hope Im right cause yeah hes annoying and I will forever be calling him that cause I can never remember his name -_- I can see alot of plot holes though. I'll quickly name a few I guess?: - After Saya kills them monsters theres blood EVERYWHERE so why hasn't anyone seen it!?!? I mean its not like she spends time cleaning it up she just walks away so like does the blood like magically dissapear or something??? - Doesn't she live in like a small/rural town so if people keep "disappearing" (when there actually getting killed by monsters) then aren't the town people gonna get suspicious!?!?! - WHAT ABOUT THE BLOODY CORPSES!?!?! The monster ones and lately there should also be human ones!?!? She just walks away so like there just left there how do people not see/find them!?!?! - Ok this ones probably pointless and stupid but HOW MANY UNIFORMS DOES SAYA HAVE!?!?! She totally wrecks them or gets blood all over them so does she keep buying new ones or something?!?! That or shes reallyyyy good at washing and sewing!!! - Do the Elder Bairn just appear in her small, rural town??? Out of the wholeee world thats all??? Where apparently they know theres someone killing them there??? Why dont they just go to major cities and start massacres if there unbeatable except when there slayed with that special sword!?!?! They could kill every human in like a week then!!! - The sword/katana!!! If thats the only thing that can kill them then yeah as I just said above the world would be doomed in days :'( Ok I just wanted to state those cause they were annoying me -_- And Oh well its anime... Aka its NEVER ever gonna be perfect :) Even though there are those faults I still enjoy the show!!! Its like mixing a slice of life with... I dunno Gore? Its just fun to watch in spare time!!! Well atleast next ep it looks like we get to see more of her friends then annoying cafe guy :) Right now this shows sitting on a 5/10. When something new happens though that score could go up ^_^ |

I think someone forgot to tell the writer that the series was only 12 episodes long. Blood-C is 1/3 over and nothing has happened yet. I can't imagine this ending well. My bet is "Something" happens in episode 8 or 9 and then they do a quick plot with the remaining episodes. She met Haji in this episode so it will probably have to do with him. Saya is probably actually an elder bairn, raised by her father whom she seems to have an incestuous relationship with (although if she isn't even human, much less his actual daughter, i suppose it isn't incest). Haji probably also has something to do with the elder bairn. Her father will probably die by the end. She will eat more of that marsh mellow stuff. |

Wow, lots of hate on the forum O_o I actually liked this episode the best so far, I feel like there's actually the beginnings of PLOT (the monsters talking about this mysterious covenant and saying they're the same as Saya, despite these being no type of vampire I've ever fuckin seen), and there was a lot of action with those toad-drones and Super Ultra Chicken. Saya's dad is being a dumbass, keeping secrets from Saya 'for her own good' ... that NEVER works out, in real life or in anime, because what you don't know can very much hurt you. Especially when it relates to the super-powerful demons you're making her go out and fight every night. 5/5, I'm feeling generous. |

I am seeing change in each episode and it's getting getting interesting the atmosphere was definitely different this time and the ending was like a cliffhanger. Considering tree people died which should cause a commotion in a small village like that since for the village it would probably seem they disappeared. The cafe holder seems like the antagonist but the teacher might fit this profile as well tho i suspect her to be of some organization that has something to do with getting rid of the monsters. Since it does seem like the body's and blood are being cleaned by someone other then Saya. The fights are getting more intense as well and it seems like Saya has a personality that takes over when the fights get to hard. Then there is also the fact that Saya father is hiding something which also seems like a bit of a mystery. |

Lol, didnt expect the general consensus to be the same as mine... This anime sucks so much Now, some people think we are being harsh because we are comparing it to Blood+, but I disagree... In fact, the only reason we are STILL watching it, is exactly because it is the Blood franchise... I would have dropped this shit at episode 2 if that werent the case, but I keep hoping it gets better at some point (in vain so far) Right now its some pathetic attempt at monster of the week mahou shoujo, with extra blood |

Murbella said: I think someone forgot to tell the writer that the series was only 12 episodes long. Blood-C is 1/3 over and nothing has happened yet. I can't imagine this ending well. Isn't there supposed to be a Blood-C movie next year? They're probably taking the anime slow because they know that they can finish the story in the movie. |

haha i love spirited rants on shows like these. i think the biggest flaw, above all else, is that blood + was really good and set us all up for something spectacular which is not happening... its not even that this anime is so bad - its just a huge let down as far as a blood anime goes. otonashi saya was a really great and complex character who was supported by other - equally as great side characters like Hagi, Kai and Diva. This show doesnt have a single supporting character........maybe the dog? and for a vampire type character this saya really lets the shit get beaten out of her. im a long time fan of the vampire genre of anime so i will stick this out until the end. |

Anyone else thinks Saya's Dad won't see the end of this show? |

They shouldn't have called this anime Blood. Although this anime isn't really awful at all, the title misleads people what this anime is actually about. |

bla bla bla The endless debate between fans and haters. At one point, after spending a lot of time on MAL, you just realize it's totally pointless.Niko-kun said: On MAL, everyone who has used the lame rating system becomes a critic and an intellectual by default, haven't you heard? |

I quite liked this episode. It's getting a bit interesting with the "honor the covenant" and Saya's visions or whatever. I'm getting the feeling Fumito is a bad guy with the narration and all. |

Ok, so I think that this show COULD potentially get better because of this episode. Even with the fight though, I felt like I was watching the last episode. The covenant, ooh so scary ._. :/ With that dog, I'm thinking that no one else can see it... I mean, the twins were all "dog"? (I don't know if that's due to their "cute" stupidity or them not seeing it.) It's also strange that tokizane (I didn't even bother remembering his name...) popped up conveniently after she chased it away. Maybe he changes back and forth between the two lol. This is clamp and all... And still. NO ONE NOTICES DAMAGE ON THE TOWN. How about the three dead guys? It's gonna be a shiki case and everyone's going to start dying while the other people just watch and wonder what's going on. So the town either doesn't care or they're all too stupid to notice. The whole time I was watching the preview, I was thinking about Princess Tutu with the school life shit... Scary stories huh. What could possibly happen... Ugh. Is it wrong that every time Saya walks to school, I hope she gets hit by a car? |

For me , so far the anime is fine , i'm starting to get annoyed though at the repetitive pattern of spending the day at the cafe then at school with friends then fighting monsters at night , hopefully things will start to change in the coming episodes and the story will unfold eventually. |

I've been wondering if I should give up on blood-c but there are a few things that keep me interested. For one, I think the coffee Fumito gives her every day has blood in it. When she offered her coffee to her father he seemed reluctant and Fumito quickly chimed that her father drank different coffee than her. Also, her father seems to make sure she goes in each morning for coffee/breakfast. She also said the coffee always calms her down. Also, I believe the 'dog' she sees is a kitsune. With the facial markings it seems like a fox and I think the kitsune is Tokizane-kun. He might have entered the school in order to kill her (which would explain his interest and reluctance to spend time with her). However after observing her he is beginning to care for her. The song she sings obviously means something, especially since at the end of ep 4 her teacher spoke the beginning lines to the song to her. If it wasn't important they wouldn't put it in each episode. The covenant is probably a pact between yokai - or vampires and other yokai (since saya is probably a vampire given the red eyes, inhuman fighting ability and the fact this is part of the blood series) to not kill one another. A truce. |
