I did not think something like this was gonna pop up this season. vibrant colors, detailed backgrounds, actual hair movements that tend to follow the direction the wind is going... I just wish I didn't scratch my eye upon waking up this morning. could have enjoyed it even more 😭 |

The return of GoHands after 1.5 years since Summer 2023's Suki na Ko ga Megane wo Wasureta a.k.a The Girl I Like Forgot Her Glasses and Dekiru Neko wa Kyou mo Yuuutsu a.k.a The Masterful Cat Is Depressed Again Today, the studio's distinctive look has never wa, though this is easily the most excessive that GoHands has ever gone, back to the level of Hand Shakers.
Hanabie.'s heavy metal rock OP is pure illicit chaos, that's all I can say.
For a start, the group of 5 girls of Erika Koudaiji, Hinageshi Usuzumi, Sazanka Yoshino and Ayame Sakuya, led by the blonde-haired Yuri Kawatsu, whom have themselves equipped with powers of their very own to deal with the "Wild Hunt" alien invaders from outer space, this is easily a cinch for them.
However, with the arrival of the lone anomaly of Renge Kasumi seeing all of the small harmless robots roaming around her, and then spotting the girls as she tries to make an unsuspicous introduction, they try to calm her down seemingly with her excessive social PTSD. And to have a quickfire cooking session of Saury Himatsubushi from the shy girl herself, that's at least what keeps Renge going. To add to the fact, Renge having her own Andavari weapon certainly stands out dealing with yet more Wild Hunts, she's a certified amnesiac that needed a community to thrive, and Yuri's group is whom she needed to stay out of her loneliness.
It's a GoHands show, that's to be expected, nuff said.

@bboy_OatsnRice Renge from NNB would have destroyed those robots with her Neko Punches even faster than Renge from this show. :P |

I thought the animation was pretty good for the most part, though some of the CGI especially for backgrounds was a bit obvious. I'm betting right here in episode 1 that it's revealed later on that Renge is a robot. It just feels like an obvious plot twist. |

Cute girls doing dumb things... ok, nevermind. At least Ayame is kawaii-megane as expected. I have nothing against GoHands visual style (at least it's unique), just hope that someday they'll hire an actual scriptwriter instead of random chatgpt crap. |

The characters are incredibly flat in personalities. Like seriously, we have a character who does nothing but talk in "gamer slang"—if you can even call it that—that just sucks. Additionally, I cannot fully express just how much I hate the show's backgrounds. The animation style I knew was gonna be too much—especially with all the "jiggling," but the backgrounds are so photorealistic that the characters don't even feel like they are occupying the spaces they are supposed to be inhabiting. I'll stick around for a little longer with this show, but probably not for very long, just have to see if it has ANY redeeming qualities at all. |

Momentary Lily is probably not for me. The huge dissonance between alien invaders that killed 99.9% of humanity and six teenage girls that act like they're vying to be trope queens is way too much. Add in helpful little droids that show up after the invasion that keep basic utilities running! The only thing that might keep my attention is strong Yuri subtext. |

EP 1 Uh Starting with the op immediately? hmm Its something for sure Maybe a bit too bombastic Would be funneh if they spent all their budget on the op Introduction is a bit rough anyway so the girls are kinda all loony now its a cooking anime soo thats quick very I think the main thing is they tried too hard to make ep 1 bombastic and ended up making it kinda mediocre I mean they are really flexing the budget aside from that I really have no idea if theres gonna be some twist next ep or episodic or some plot Since its an original anime Mainly its just a case of first ep syndrom even if its a bit different Also the girls and whatever is going on with the plot Crackpot conspiracy theory says that is like a dream or virtual reality I guess Alternatively |

I can't believe people hated the animation. I mean yeah it's unique and CG can be noticeable but the implementation is impressive. The girls are stereotypes but that was also a unique aspect on itself. Plus, there are hints this might not be a happy ending. Added to my weekly watch for now. |

OH MAI GAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAD
That is the worst opening song I have ever heard in my life.
Then the actual show starts, with these girls squeaking and giggling about girly shit.
"My eczema gets really bad!" R U joking. IF the world ended, you wouldn't have the capacity to care.
Fortunately (or not, depends...) it doesn't spend too long playing grabass. The action starts with a bang. Yes, I mean a really loud BANG. It nearly blew my TV speakers out because it was cranked up 11 OVER what the conversation part played at; and was much louder than the aforementioned deathmetal intro.
What happens on screen is another type of explosion- just bright sparkling colors everywhere, CGI modeling and camera spinning around and around, and the fight some mechanical looking monsters (can't tell, moves so fast) while acting like they're playing dubstep at the mall- totally unafraid, laughing, smiling, striking poses, having a great time... so this show has made its point- it is not to be taken seriously.
The girls themselves are annoying like girls tend to be; but I can say they are beautifully animated, perhaps too beautifully. They all look like stereotypical cute anime girls; not one of them has a homely face or awkward proportions; and one of them has these giant tits that wobble and sway and bounce up and down DURING NORMAL CONVERSATION WHILE SITTING DOWN.
And their hair is also fully animated- like FULLY. It moves around constantly.
I will say if this is supposed to be a post-apocalyptic world; they seem to have skipped the apocalypse part- everything looks shiny and immaculate; Japan's typically spotless concrete-brick paved pedestrian streets SHINE in the sun, there's not a spot of dirt or rust or cracks or decay; not a single weed, not a thing out of place. Every window reflects the sun and is perfectly intact, every building looks sparkling and well cared-for. I'd think if humanity was wiped out they would have fought first- and the automaton that shows up does smash a building; so if ALL of humanity died, then why aren't ALL the buildings also smashed? It feels more like they were just too lazy to animate any other characters, and so created this empty set for the girls to play around in like a video game. Even the cherry blossoms are blossoming and looks perfect.
Renge is adorable, well all the girls kind of are, but in a CGDCT way, they all seem the same.
Anyway, I sort of enjoyed this.. if you ignore the stupid intro and the idiotic premise, and most of the useless dialogue, it looks fantastic. The backgrounds are just CG models but look great; the girls are all pretty, Renge is cute and I like her funny face and how she turns black and white when embarrassed; and her chibi bit too. The animation of the girls is impressive, the colors are nice... so I'll watch another episode to see but if it's all just girls giggling and playing grabass for 12 episodes I doubt I'll survive its world.

@mshfqtny I missed a lot but if the jiggling WAS the plot, then I didn't miss a thing! Really though, there are times in certain action scenes in anime where there is TOO much going on, hair flipping around, jiggly things jiggling, guns shooting, missiles flying, and the camera just cannot stop moving at all. Sometimes that can be really difficult to keep track of what the hell is actually going on! |

I'm new to this studio's works, I think, but I feel like I might have seen people saying not so great things about their past works. Admittedly, the animation direction is kinda ticking me off. Spending so much time on animating each character's hair going wild just seem like a waste of time in a medium famed for its time-saving animation choices. It'd be one thing if they were spending the time animating things that actually add more to the scene, but the hair (and boobs) moving all over only serves as a distraction more than anything. Seeing hair flowing all over the place after the smallest movements doesn't really do anything. Instead, it made me think, dang... if their hair is so thin that it moves at the slightest breath then these girls will likely be balding soon. If some of them are worried about their eczema and such, maybe these girls are just full of health problems or something, the thinning hair being related to some of it, perhaps. What's actually happening isn't terrible though. I'll stick around maybe. Was honestly going to throw in the towel after the excessive jiggling, but I'll just deal with it and see where they take this. |

Kinda ass. I mean, as a seasonal trash watcher I am not saying this episode is a complete waste of 20 something minutes, because isn't, definitely has the typical GoHands weirdness which I happen to enjoy in a way, but yeah, it's just not very good. I like the monster/alien designs, though. Oh, and the opening took me by surprise. |

The visuals are as horrendous as I expected.
I thought they will learn to cast better shadows,
because when static stock CGI background already has shadows, it would be proper to adjust characters shadows as well.
This is such a rookie mistake and they are still doing this, even two years later.
And those wavy hair looks especially horrendous.
And clouds are still moving at hurricane level speeds. Nobody at GoHands ever looked at the sky?
This is not cherrypick. It's like that throughout entie episode (and previous anime GoHands made).
Gonna watch 2nd episode, because if it turns out that most of the effort and budget was spent on that trailer scene and everything will go downhill, it would be fkin hilarious.
They forgot to make Table-kun cast a shadow. Holy shit.
I refuse to believe that those are supposed to be cloud's shadows!!!

@Piromysl I mean, let's learn to separate incompetence from simple budget issues. Projecting the exact oblique shadow of a character's body all the time takes a lot of time. Most anime just draw a black spot underneath, enough to create the illusion. |

You see, I don't need to cherrypick this kind of thing that is either our of focus, in the background and for like two or three frames, because it was like that throughout entire episode and even shoved into our faces like that steaming mug that I pointed out, so it exceptionally stands out, to the point of me having serious suspicious that they are doing this deliberately. I can excuse an honest mistake or an oversight, but not THIS. Like... I'm supposed to believe that nobody at GoHands ever looked at the sky and knows at which speed clouds usually move or that they don't cast sharp edged shadows on the ground? It looks so bad, that there is no way they could have messed up this bad without a deliberate effort to do so, so I don't buy this "low budget" excuse. No shot. Any human who looks at this will immidietly see that it's not how it's supposed to look like. |

Idk if this how a westerner would direct an anime or maybe it's brain rot content as anime, but I am lost in a loop. First of all, what's faster the movement for every shot or the subtitles? Secondly, Am I tripping or does the last girl magically grew up? I could of sworn she looks/ acts like a primary grade student in her introduction scene. Yet during the girls lunch meal she warps into a high school girl in the blink of the eye. Anyway to call this bad would be a disrespect to actual bad shows. This is cinema on a cosmic scale. The camera angles is one thing but the 2-3 second cut for every shot is sickening. The only redeeming factor so far are the cute robots ransacking items on the ground. |

@Gnza That's so fecking contrived tho- It's just a hand-wave so they can provide this game background for them to have 'fights' in (really just striking poses and dancing, and not fighting by any stretch of the word) They just didn't want to animate any other people... Which makes sense because half the budget clearly went to that one chick's boobs... |

Good episode, nothing bad to complain about, it seems like it will be a girls' adventure in a world where there are probably few humans alive, what eliminates these humans seems to be these "robots", since then they have stolen "weapons" of which it looks like fight against them, and the protagonist mysteriously doesn't know how he got one of these "weapons", well, it's interesting, which leads me to some questions and some reflections, we'll see how it goes and whether what I'm thinking will happen or not. |

I have a checkered past with GoHands, having suffered through all of Hand Shakers and its surprise sequel W'z. Before that, I had seen Seitokai Yakuindomo, but I somewhat remembering that being tolerable, as well as the first season of K (wasn't too big on it, so I never continued with it). Hand Shakers was definitely the breaking point for me and what would be the studio's formula for their original stories. Visual slop that overstimulates the brain with lackluster plot/characters that have no purpose, and are merely tools for the staff to use as a way to "push the boundaries" of animation. Only, they don't. They overdo it. This goes the same for Momentary Lily. It's the same nonsense that's been put out before, only in a different skin. Because of my torturous history with their works, when GoHands announces a new original series, I feel like I'm contractually obligated to see what fresh hell awaits. Only difference is now, I know when to quit. |

Wow, I didn't know AAA anime exists.... Much like with AAA games, looks good, but terminally soulless.... This is the worst GoHands anime yet. Usually their anime sucks, this however is on another level of bad... Idk if I'd be continuing this. Such a shame, the idea is great, but as per usual, GoHands direction and scripts sucks... |

The goHands signature crappy CG backgrounds and poor camera work and angles makes this show hard to watch. There is so much jiddery movement and unnatural environments where clouds move in multiple directions in the same timespan and overuse of the same environmental scene is going to be a surefire thing. |
