I checked and I didn't find a light novel for it. But to be fair I only very recently started getting into them and will stick with jobless reincarnation for a while so I wouldn't even have the capacity even if there was.
If you enjoyed Bokuyaba then you will most likely enjoy this as well. It's focus is a lot more on the romantic side and less on the character growth side but that is fine I think.

I've read this gripe a couple times and I agree that they overplay his awkwardness a little. Guy is reallly falling hard and since he's like 13 he's absolutely overwhelmed. It does mellow out a bit quite soon.
I think the pacing is insane with them going on a "date" in episode 2 with handholding and feeding each other. Contact exchanges etc it's going pretty quickly. ANYWAY I hope you at least give the manga a shot. It's sweet.

Awwww. What made you drop this? I've read the manga I swear it's great!
