These camera angles and 'shiny' visuals have always been a GoHands shtick.

Definitely not a fan of GoHands style. Though I will say they're ambitious and experimental, the animation is just straight up distracting, with too many things moving around that don't need to be, like having multiple people moving around in different directions, or Mie's hair bouncing around for some reason. hopefully the plot carries, but I feel like I might end up swapping to the manga at some point.
But hey, at least they didn't use that god awful rainbow filter shit again.

It's certainly something different and unique. Lots of movement in some scenes, I like it for the most part but it does feel off when I focus. It's mostly the depth effect and I can see characters not aligned with the floor properly but it's definitely not nauseating and definitely not something I consider bad. It's just not very well done either. It's.... different, and I like it.

I thought it was trash, but it only lasted a few minutes, so it's whatever.
If you reply back to me and I never respond, I lost interest and don't care. Sorry about that.

Probably the future of anime or several future animations may start looking like this, because all the tedious environment and objects are easier to generate in 3D, given interesting angles it's pretty cool and unique. So in the future there is only need to draw characters 2D because 3D characters are uncanny.

Anyways this seems to almost get best of both in good combination.

Indeed the leg scenes are over exaggerated, but part of art is to also test some edge cases like these, showing them off is quite bold move and gives it some quirky-ness i guess.

Every GoHands production gives me the impression someone bought a box full of the best tools available and gave those to some amateurs that have absolutely no clue what to do with it.

Their shows do have a very unique and recognizable look, and at moments you can be fooled into thinking it looks actually very good.....but once things start moving and they seem to make an effort in using the weirdest angles possible it all falls apart. But for that reason alone I did once again finish this first episode, while the same material done by any other studio I would have probably dropped within a few minutes. Not that I will watch any more episodes, but still. I wouldn't even call it a hate-watch, as I am genuinely curious what on earth they come up with. As terrible as it is, it's always an experience.

I didn't like the parts in the school's hallways and stairs.. The CG was ugh.  Other than that, I didn't mind it at all.

Re: angles: I actually liked that they tried something new.  I liked the low angles and I think they would have worked better in 2D.

GoHands Studio also made 'Student Council Staff Members' anime. That's why it's similar to SCSB anime with camera angles and animation, although in this anime is kinda weird, but not bad.

The first few minutes were hideous. Didn't mind the extreme angles, but the animation was stiff and unnatural. When they were going up the stairs, it was like the character were jumping or something. Just reminded me of watching popcorn pop or something. There was another walking scene later, which thankfully didn't last long. Hopefully they've gotten it out of their system, cause I like the character design and the story had a bit of cringe I kinda liked.

Honestly I loved the animation. I understand why people dislike the camera angles but personally I loved the way the camera was done. I hope more anime are animated like this.

I'm really confused by some of the angles this show is going for, e.g:

Like, fenuinely, what is that?

it looks great, i'm bored with generic low-effort adaptations like bokuyabai, insomniacs, etc. from last season, so something unique like this is refreshing. the size perspective is weird at times but it's impressive for the most part. the opening scene was very tarantino-esque as it's one of his signatures to have the camera following behind the actor for long sequences, the tracking shot.

the details are so good, like some scenes could be a wallpaper, it is unique. i followed the manga, so this adaptation offer new experience to manga reader.

I dont have any problem like motion sickness with camera movement, maybe some people will feel about it.

Vomit inducing motion sickness. I had to stop at the 2:35 mark due to extreme motion sickness. I absolutely cannot watch this. Its a real shame too, because I was actually looking forward to this anime. I ended up giving it a score of (2) and dropped it.

Mixed bag. Some shots actually worked and they looked great. The ones that didn't work, which included over half of their attempts, looked like shit. Overall, I'm glad they tone it down after the intro.

K-project is still the best at this style, because it went hard but not overboard.

I don't mind the CG usage; it looked pretty good, tbh. The camera angles were awful, though...if they hadn't done such weird crap with the PoV, that opening sequence would have been stellar.

Aside from some more very specific shots midway through, everything here is god awful.

Overly complex storyboards/layouts executed in the most hideous way possible. Ugly color palette, overdone composite work, photorealistic backgrounds that make the characters look hella out of place, specially in wide shots, that entire walking sequence being animated in 1s, but having wonky timing, resulting in the scene just looking sped up and even almost AI-generated - specially given how inconsistent the actual frames are -, blatant editing errors like Komura being cut off for a second right as he enters class, the entire school feeling very flat and empty despite how much is going visually, etc.

I sincerely hope that the people who unironically claim this looks "amazing" or even worse, say "more anime should be like this" never become artists themselves, because it's clear their eye for quality is non-existent.

Generally, the animation was fine, but in terms of the hallway shots, I really can't see any benefits to shooting that way. Not to mention, when Komura gives Mie his textbook, the pictures of the cover kinda jiggled for some reason.

when I first watched the anime shaft I felt strange, but with its uniqueness I ended up liking the different animation style,

so when I see this anime I like to enjoy and like it

Finally got around to it, and I feel ambivalent about it..... I think a show needs to be a little bit more ambitious or even simply more exciting to warrant such directing and at such a consistent pace throughout the episode. I know a lot of people dislike the word pretentious, but I think it fits perfectly here.

Apart from the rigidness of motion at times, I still liked somewhat enjoyed it though, so I give GoHands props for going against the norm and doing something unique.

Watched this with a migraine and those fishlens camera angles made it so much worse lol. Apart from that, I really like how detailed Mie's hair is, definitely the highlight of this show for me so far. For a SOL show the color palette is honestly pretty dark and it was pretty hard to get into the mood for the lighthearted stuff but I can see it still working out.

People expect Gohand not to have weird angle? Has no one ever watched a Gohand anime but me? K? Seitikai Yakuindomo? Hand Shakers?  Come on people this is their anime style. That's like saying Shaft can't have head tilts.

by just 1 episode alone as a manga reader it doesn't give it justice by the way its adapted
ill still watch as i want to see my favourite panels get "animated"
i was expecting those wanky camera angles were just a gimmick for the trailer but i guess not

The camera angles are terrible on their own, and they make all the other visual issues (poor compositing, stiff/limited animation, wacky anatomy) stand out more than they otherwise would. A good example of this comes around the 2:20-2:30 mark when two characters glitch and distort as the camera passes them while rotating. The character models stop distorting, but instead start vibrating with no regard for the walls and floor when the camera starts going up a staircase. Our main character's hand briefly swells to an unhealthy size before inexplicably returning to normal as he clears the landing above. I feel bad for the mangaka - they deserve a better adaptation of their work.

Overused. People keep saying that Gohands has always done this, but not to the extent that they did for this episode lmao. Or whatever, I dont exactly keep up with the studio, but I definitely didnt watch Hand Shakers so..

Like...go watch Seitokai Yakuindomo again. Thats the one where they successfully used their technique. They used it mostly on establishing shots, or a FEW weird perspective shots but the background art and FPS didnt jar the fuck out of you there like it does here.

I really liked how fresh felt the visuals in the first episode. Creative choice to go with such camera angles was a bold decision, but I think GoHands succeeded in making good and original looking animation. Same goes with beautiful usage of CGI elements blending well into non-CGI elements. I wouldn't like to see all animes looking like this one; but at the same time I appreciate seeing from time to time shows with unique animation different to most of other series belonging to the similar genres.
