Season 1 : Character introductions
Season 2 : World Building
Season 3 : Slice of life ...

- I have no problems with Fushi's next journey (S3) in a SOL.
After centuries of fighting the Nokkers then thousands of years securing the entire planet, Fushi deserves to live in peace. He's earned it don't you agree?

- My only gripes about the conclusion of S2 was that Marchi still hasn't fulfilled her dream of growing up and becoming a real mother since she died young again but this time crying at Fushi's feet. Gugu never got to see Rean... She's probably still waiting for him by the flower bed back home (watch S1 and hear her last words).

I was hoping for Joan (Wolf) to be walking beside Fushi at the post credits. SIGH

And thus ends the era. I was shocked to see Fushi appear in modern world when reading manga, lol. Already fear how people will treat S3. I mean, number of manga people didn't like the coming arc, though I personally enjoyed it nonetheless. Can't wait to see new characters!

Completely unexpected story. That's what makes this so good, to me. Really enjoyed it because it's hard to guess, before manga readers spoil it by telling what happens in the next arc.

What a wonderful concluding episode of Renril Arc! I was crying watching it... And also I am so glad that the nameless boy returned at last.

Now I am waiting for the Present Arc. Hope that it will air in January 2024!

A decently redeeming ending couple of episodes to a show which had a very slow start. Not on the same level as S1 but good none the less. Would have been nicer to see more closure with some of character rather than a single line of text. But may just be hinted at in the next season.

S3 looks like it will be a fresh start, it will be difficult to create another fantastic character/world building atmosphere on top of what Fushi already knows. Regardless, I'll be interested to see where it takes this.

Fantastic finale, everything was wrapped up nicely and at a good pace.

Unfortunately, I don’t think it’s enough to save this season as a whole. The characters and plot were (for the most part) not very good, the visuals were weaker, the pacing was awkward, and there were so many things here that were just conceptually bad. I think the beginning and the end were the saving grace of a disappointing sequel.

5/10 overall.

After how the previous episode was all happiness with Fushi reviving and reuniting with his friends and defeating the Nokkers, almost immediately afterwards he decides to separate from them again in search of a future without Nokkers in which they are revived again and can live peacefully. PAIN

Especially for March. Given Hairo's line about being a villain, one can guess what they did with her... damn.

Bon's reaction to realizing he can grab food as a ghost was hilarious. His death made me cry again like in S1, even Fushi went to visit him in his last moments :'(

Didn't take me by surprise because of last week's preview but poor Eko, she died just like that. Best girl is going to wait as best ghost girl as long as it takes for Fushi. And now we can realize that the ED was a spoiler of the ending of this season haha.

I was never a fan of Kahaku but he really redeemed himself in the end by taking those Bennet shits with him.

And what a way to end the season by showing us Fushi in the modern world and announcing a third season in production. Kind of funny to see all those roots and vines everywhere while everyone lives their normal lives tho.

Anyway, great season and different from the first one. I can say I didn't like the first couple of episodes but once Bon showed up everything went for the better. Looking forward to the third season.

Well, he’s gone now. Kahaku is dead and the last one who’s not gonna come back.😞
At least the others got there Happy End.

But I must say I’m pissed. This after credit scene was supposed to show Mizuha and Yuki, not Fushi! I was so happy to see her.

Everyone got to live out their lives on their own accord. I consider that a good result. This was a great ending, and it was really sweet to see how Bon went out. He lived a full life and died surrounded by the ones he loved.

But man, I was not expecting season 3 to jump to present day! That is going to be really fascinating to see how that will play out!

Wow, the last bit after credits was kind of scary. Those eyes...

I enjoyed this season, if a bit less than the first, but it was still pretty interesting, I liked new characters that were introduced and glad we didn't have to say goodbye to all of them permanently. March's choice was sad though. But I get it, she's still a child, it's tough to deal with that strong attachment and just live her life without Fushi. But I hope we'll see her grow up eventually someday.

So after saving Renril, Fushi resolved himself to spread his roots all around the world. It created a bittersweet atmosphere with how sad it made all of his friends though, and that continued further as we learned about the deaths of Fushi's friends over time. March's was probably the most depressing, since she once again never got to grow old and become  a mother. Also, Kahaku in the end got some last minute redemption (although it's too little too late at this point for me to give a shit about him after how frustrating he was in earlier episodes). This felt like it could have been a series finale, but a 3rd season exploring Fushi in modern times seems interesting. Overall, my enjoyment for this season was just about equal with season 1. As the episode title suggested, this really does feel like the end of an era.

It was nice to see Gugu, Tonari, Bon and everyone else to live and pass away the way they wanted.

Eko being a child it was obvious that her body can't survive the pain from that Nokker.

What Kahaku did was the only good thing he has ever done the whole season. Though I wish he had done that sooner.

As for this season, the story didn't leave that emotional impact that season 1 was able to do. Season 2 was sadly boring than season 1 and I'm pretty sure that season 3 will be as well. It got anticlimactic. I think it went downhill because of Fushi's revival ability. Because of this ability I feel stupid for crying for their death in season 1.

It feels weird to see this anime set in the modern world. But I'm curious about how this arc will go, will there be any nokkers or if it'll be like a slice of life anime. At the end, we see Fushi taking off that rope, so are we going to see the unnamed boy as an individual in the next season? Also I'm surprised to see the people in the modern era living so normally without questioning those roots everywhere.

Overall I'll rate this season 7/10. The rating went down for me. Season 1 was much better, so I gave that an 8.

Grand finale

It must have been hard for Inmo to say goodbye to her newly revived friends but it's all for a better cause, which is a world full of peace

The truth was quite sad to see Inmo's friends die but that's life I guess

With the fact that there will be a season 3 and it will be currently, incredible I will wait for it very anxiously or maybe I will even read the manga :-)

I liked this season more than the previous one so I end this season with good vibes

Time to wait for season 3 of this great anime

Beautiful conclusion to this season. It started off slow as hell in the first half but the second more than made up for it. The author honestly could've ended it right here if she wanted, but it seems she has more story to tell. I'm with it I guess, just as the quality doesn't get diminished for dragging it on.

5/5 episode
8.5/10 personal rating for the season, rounded up to 9 for MAL

Last part felt extremly wholesome as after thousands of years Fushi still remembered nameless guy's wish, I definitely didn't expected this and i couldnt ask for a better ending for this anime.

I thought this brother of Alme and Messar is going overboard in blaming Messar for Alme's death. But turns out he actually cares and just sends them away so that they can be safe. March and Tonari are taking a bath. It's pleasing to watch them have a good time after everything they've been through.

Fushi said he'd be staying behind to make the world peaceful and asked them to live out their lives for themselves. It was pretty sad after everything that happened. Fushi is on yet another big mission. Tonari gave a drug so that March could die. It was a decent move since she knew that March can always be revived when he is back.

Kahaku finds the Bennett Church and brought them along to death. Nice move. Bon got revived. Tonari went back to writing. The years passed and everyone died. Now, the ED makes sense. Seems like Fushi finally made his mission come true.

Overall, the beginning pace of Season 2 was boring, but towards the end, it was good. Will wait for Season 3 now.

I thought that was Perona in the tub with March, but she wasn't at the table. When I thought about it, I don't recall her being one of Fushi's spiritual followers?

Everyone lived (and/or died) the way they wanted. I don't see a need for S3.

We have finally reached the modern era. I can't believe we already got a season 3 announcement, I am super happy. At this rate, I really hope we get a full adaptation. The latest arc in the manga just started.

Story wise, I can definitely say that this season is stronger than the first, but the production quality really hold it back.

This is one of my most favorite conclusions to an arc of all time, To Your Eternity is just such a unique experience for me, it has its ups and downs, but you can't take away its uniqueness.

I also just realized what the ED is doing too, WOW! That was excellent. I can't wait for season 3, it's going to be interesting to say the least. 8/10

Before this season had started, I was worried about the quality because the director and studio had changed. But, seeing this episode, I am finally relieved because the directing and animation quality never dropped.

I think the anime added a few extra dialogues and scenes, and I am glad they did, because it really works.

When reading the manga, I didn't realise half of Kahaku's face had turned into the nameless boy!

I feel so bad for Kahaku. He was so loyal, but never truly got seen as a comrade; all because of the knocker.

Fushi has resurrection powers, but I like how the story still makes the deaths have some weight.

The modern arc is next! I know it's not the strongest arc in the story, but I still like it. (I don't know if anyone noticed, but the texts in the modern city is not Japanese, which means they are not in Japan. It's just a modern version of Renryl or Yanome or whatever other place they live.)

I loved S2
From Tonari's epic comeback and the short but emotional recap (by Fushi telling his story to her on her deathbed) to meeting Bon, discovering the extent of Fushi's abilities, getting to know Bon and his ability, learning about Fushi's new enemies. Then the big fight at Renrill, where from the moment they entered the city it kept me wondering when and how Fushi would learn he can bring his old comrades back. Then March's beautiful awakening, then her struggle to find and finally protect her son.

It made me a bit sad that they had to part ways so Fushi could spread his roots, especially with how heartbroken March was. But it probably was the only way to find every last Nokker... it still leaves me wondering how they were created in the first place and if anything could stop them from coming back again. Seeing modern day life at the end of the last ep took me by surprise, i wonder how Fushi will fit into this new world and if through his roots he knows everything about it already.

Finally... Peace at last. Happy lives. Fushi realizes it's time to bring his friends back. A perfect end - only to be followed by a S3 announcement.

I can't help but worry now. What could S3 add to the story? Fushi in modern day life? Have all his friends passed on, leaving nobody to revive? Do the Nokkers return? Fushi as social media star? I don't know, I'll be there to watch it, but I doubt it will be able to surpass what S2 did. If it can, it'll be a surprise for sure, but a welcome one.

The season started kinda slow but by episode like 5 or 6 i was entirely hooked, its around the time Bon Chin Nicola Tasty Peach Urialis makes his sacrifice, that is when i finally got hooked into watching this season weekly alomst religiously every episode that came out. The war segment did drag on but that was kinda the idea behind it.

The Ending secuence was a damn spoiler for the end of the season, every character starts showing up at Fushi's tree as soon as they die. Its kinda sad how some of this characters died like March being poisoned to avoid her feeling pain for not being able to see Fushi, but the characters don't seem that sad when they start showing up at the tree in the ending sequence. Now I'm wondering how characters like Bon or Tonari that kinda already lived their lifes to the fullest specially Bon would like to be reincarnated, Bon had a family and everything.

I'm really intregued on how they will explore this anime's dynamic in a modern setting tho, its really interesting to see how they do that, so far every season has had its own flavor, season 1 being a prologue in which Fushi gets to learn the basics and develop a conciousness, season 2 is Fushi declaring war on nokkers and using everything he has learned so far to win alongside the anime developing some characters like Bon extensively. I'm willing to think season 3 will have more characters like Bon, instead of mini arcs of "x" character life its going to "drag on" more like season 2, which i'm entirely fine with since I loved Bon's character after his sacrifice scene.

Eh, this season was a bumpy ride. On one hand you have really good characters like Bon, who is among if not the best in the whole series from a writing standpoint and a few interesting others (Kahaku, Messar etc) but on the other hand there are a lot of underdeveloped characters (Eko above all) and unmemorable villains like the Nokkers (who really are among the worst in recent memory... and we still don't know their origins). Fortunately the last few eps have somewhat an emotional value with some really good chars brought back!

This is such a risky move, since it kinda devalues the impact of their choices and deaths in S1. Overall I still don't know how I feel about bringing back march, gugu, tonari and all the others who decided to not pass to heaven but stay with Fushi...

From a technical perspective this was hit&miss; while I love the character design and the plain but effective backgrounds, I think the animations were mostly bad/okayish with only some decent combat scenes here and there but generally they were all just barely passable. Another bittersweet thing was the OST, which is still good, but reuses so many tracks from S1 it's not even funny... overall I'd say 6.5/10.

This would have a been a somewhat good ending point for this series I think, don't really know what to expect going into the modern setting.

What in the hell. Okay first of all that was a pretty salifying ending. All the characters brought back got to live out their lives and die, even if some were very short (RIP March). Fushi spreads himself across the entire world to stop any remaining nokkers sure. I thought the season 3 was going to be about Hayate for a bit but then he went a suicide bombed essentially to stop the church. So then this is a perfectly wrapped up story right? Except now we're going to have a season 3 that takes place in the present day with Fushi's roots literally warping the entire planet? That is kinda nuts. Feels kinda pointless tbh I mean the story has been told but I guess I will watch it. No idea what the author has planned.

Fushi can only revive spirits that choose to remain in reality and are following him.
Rean vowed to stay by the flower bed and wait for Gugu (since Gugu promised her he'll come back). She never followed Fushi therfore her spirit is bound to that place.
