Hangyaku no Lelouch Episode 1 = The Day the Fiend Was Born
Hangyaku no Lelouch R2 Ep 1 = The Day the Fiend Awakens

Two very different episode titles with two very different meanings =P

That was a pretty good start i guess. I'm always up for a bunny suit Kallen and a C.C

Good to know that this show is airing in hd. looked great on my hdtv.

Hmm... what's the deal with Viletta? Is this gym teacher job suppose to be some kind of undercover job or does she have another motive?

Not a bad start, I was pretty confused at the beginning of the episode but then everything started to piece together right at the end, its nice to see C.C and Kallen again but I didn't like seeing Suzaku alive and breathing>.<
Well I hope this season turns out as good or better than the first, oh and HD is a definite plus^_^

She is supposedly keeping an eye on Lelouch, she does know that he is Zero.

Just saw it on HD 720p...haha I feel sorry for the people who have to animate that! xD
(which is a good thing in terms of quality!)

I agree to 100% with all of what you said.

The OP could have been better. I loved the second one in the first season.

Very good episode, reminded me of the first episode of the first season obviously, but the first episode of Gundam SEED too somehow.

Nothing unexpected though, all the Code Geass themes and characters are here just like in the R1, so I'm waiting for some good plot development and an interesting characterization. Oh, and HD releases are awesome, the quality is fantastic !

I liked this episode a lot. I knew that Lelouch wouldn't have his memories from all the hints and spoilers and if his memory loss lasted for more than the first episode I definitely would have been disappointed. I also think it was a great way to start the new season, especially now that there are people other than C.C. who are aware of Zero's true identity, which makes it much better in my opinion. The only thing it was lacking is how Lelouch lost his memory and was implanted with different memories in the first place.

She knows he's Zero, but is she working on this solo or is she still reporting to the Britannian government?

Well that was pretty good. Like Crystal said, I'm glad they went about showing things this way instead of picking up right after season 1 ended. It's not like they're spoonfeeding you the information.

Lelouch = so beautiful♥ *o*
I missed everyone sooo much~~! I kept thinking 'welcome back!' every time I saw someone XD (Especially C.C. Like "Y HALLO THAR, C.C.! WATCHA BEEN UP TO???" and Kallen still kicks ass!)
Rollo is a cutie<3

Rollo: "Nii-san!" *super worried*
Me: *squeeee~~*
Also...
Lulu: "I have to save my only brother! (paraphrased)"
Me: *sparkly eyes*

I'm looking forward to seeing more of the sexy Chinese guy Lee and the fruity blond Gino<333 What I'm afraid of is that we'll see less of other characters like Lloyd ^_^;;

And DAMMIT! There was barely any Suzaku ;___;

Watched it, loved it. WITH SUBS!
Anyway. There was something retarded going on so the video lagged for me and I wasn't watching stream. I dunno if it has to do with the HD or whatever you call it, quality, or the font? I missed some lines there, but maybe they weren't so important. Still, I'd rather not watch the other episodes with "lag". Anyone got a solution for me? :o

I loved Rollo's voice. I thought it would be stupid and really childish, but it wasn't. Yay!

QFT LOL. Seeing the HD animation was amazing. I started out kind of like wtf?? with the memory loss but that quickly went away as the episode unfolded. I definitely agree with Crystal and Iriya - I was looking forward to tying up all the cliffhangers from last season but I love how they are keeping the suspense going rather than just picking up at the exact point they left off. I'm already on the edge of my seat for next week's episode. I kind of disagree with a lot of people though - I like Suzaku as the anti-hero (hero?).

Complete made of epic.

The episode was completely weird until that awesome ending point. Where did Rollo come from? Explanations from what happened a year ago please? Many questions, little answers, but still made of epic. Can barely wait till the next episode.

gg's encode is killing my PC during the OP/ED sequences though. Haha...

Ah, Code Geass is back. How I sorely missed Lelouch being his badass self. ^_^

Kallen in a bunny suit. Not bad. Not bad at all.

Two questions out of the many that I'm interested in are why and how Lelouch was implanted with new memories and why Suzaku didn't kill him when he shot him then.

Rewatched it with subs. It appears my confusion stemmed from mistranslated Suzuku's first line as forgiving Lelouch, rather than not asking for forgiveness (I should've paid better attention...). I'm now not totally certain what happened at the end, although Suzaku remains unable to have shot Lelouch (the whole "live!" command prevents it).

I'm also convinced about something being up with the locket, in addition to Rollo in general. Apparently, he can warp and knock over people without them noticing.

That... was... AWESOME!

I was expecting lots of bullshit this ep. It's pretty much the norm for anime. You don't answer major cliffhangers from last season right away. And yeah, there was some of that. But at least they jumped right into the action, for the most part.

agh~ the epicness <333

I'm totally dying to see the next episode now xD Hopefully the rest of the series will be like this. I was pretty confused throughout the entire episode until near the end, but the S1 episode 1 parallels were pretty awesome. This episode totally raised way more questions than were answered. What's with Viletta being the gym teacher, and where the hell did Rollo come from, and why does Shirley remember Lulu again (and shouldn't she know that he's Zero then?)??? D: OMG the Emperor has Geass, and V.V. is his contractor? OMGsh, they got CLAMP to illustrate the ED :O [/random spluttering xD]

Seriously, that totally lived up to my expectations for CG R2, and now I'm totally pumped for this season ♥

I like that a lot of people are voicing disapproval, yet I am one of only 3 people to rate it under a 3/5. This episode was not terrible, but it was certainly below average for anime period, and it was VERY below average compared to the greatness of season 1. It was so clumsy, and then him being all IM ZERO IM ZERO IM ZERO IM ZERO at the end was retarded as fuck. The little justice versus friendship rant was typical Lelouch, but the IM ZERO IM ZERO IM ZERO thing was overboard as to how he typically acts.
Elsewhere, a somewhat startled Warren Worthington III finds that he has accidentally wandered into an electrified east-side world of post-twist teens and watsui-ing teeny-boppers...

Beautiful start. Suspense kept all the way to the end.

The suspense nearly killed me....

And one point for the Chinese Union humiliating the Britannlia Empire!!

I think this is a great start because 1 year has passed and the viewers nearly forgot what happened back then. This is a great episode to get back into the mood quickly. Everything was done perfectly, the timing, the action and the suspense. Not too much not too less...EXACTLY RIGHT.

And way to go CLAMP! Character design = pure awesomeness

And I shouldn't have watched this now. I will have trouble going to sleep now with all the andrenaline rush and excitement I had (I've seriously had one....my body feels weird now...) I guess watching Code Geass is bad for your health....

The beginning was confusing but most of the confusion are gone. Well besides what happened between S1 and S2 but it'll be cleared up as this goes on.

I suppose we just have to wait for Suzaku to face Lulu.

Eh, I personally expect and like how Lulu came back. Nice little revision.

Personally I felt let down after watching this. Sure it was packed with suspense and some action but what I was really looking for was a longer flash back to explain some of the stuff we all wanted to know. It didnt have to explain how Lelouch survived but I would have liked to know what happend to the school at least. Now It feels like they will probably drag it on before telling us what happened in the past. Not to mention all the new questions they toss at us. For example Lelouch has a brother now? I'm guessing this is just some random kid that had his memory messed with also. Another question I have is wtf happened to the school? Shirley knew Lelouch was Zero but now she shows no expressions at all when she sees him. What happened to the bomb? Apparently it didn't go off since the school looks the same. So much that was left wide open >.< *head explodes*.

Someone mentioned the king has a geass? Well if thats true then it would explain a lot. For example why Lelouch's mom had the guards back down and not guard her or her kids in the past causing her to get killed. My theory about her being influenced by a geass user (possibly the king?) might actually be true now.

I still thought the first ep was good, just not as good as I was expecting.

I liked it but I'm still waiting on episode 2 to flesh things out. This episode was more of a hey look we're all here, tah dah! thing. Also, no one but me seems to have noticed this but once Lelouch's power is unsealed his geass may have gone back to permanently on. Usually when he finishes using his geass on some one the eye goes away but when he was talking with Kallen after she arrived in Guren it was still there. Just me and my crazy conspiracy theories.
