You're assuming far too much my friend, and I really question your logic. And before you start going, "But she gave Bocchi an impossible task!" do you seriously believe Kai meant that literally? Take the time to actually think about what you're saying before spouting your mouth off like you have been. That kind of behavior is going to get you into trouble one of these days. Every fibre in my body is fighting a war with that episode. It was one of the worst i have ever seen. That makes me feel uncomfortable, and that is something i forbid in my cute girl shows. I mean, it's obvious the whole promisse thing is because she was worried about Bocchi being alone and not make any friends in her new school (understandable) ok... but, Bocchi is doing great... she is in the karaoke with three friends in the summer vacation, after only one semester! this is one hell of a big step for someone like Bocchi ^^' Kai didn't need to finish the act and say that "it's ok, we're friends again" already... but at least say something to Bocchi and encourage her... "you doing well!", "at this rate, you'll fufill our promisse in no time" ... anything that don't make poor little Bocchi to cry XD |

| Great pure heartwarming episode! Bocchi accidentally saw Kai-chan! this event was triggered me the most! in a very emotional way! both cried! oh god! this was so ... and then they both Barf! lolz! that was great emotion stopper! oh well! great episode! 5/5. It was not a promise it was a ultimatum ,that said, Do this or i'm not your friend, witch make it a physical abuse, that and a promise are very two different things .So early on kai have a habit to attack Bocchi She sending Bocchi on a mission she never can complete, and Kai knows that, but she get pleasure when she playing with Bocchis feeling and want her to fail ,otherwise she haven't give her a impossible task Kai is one of the most evil and despicable characters i have ever seen in anime and too see how happy she look after the latest attack is sickening But hey i'm not saying that your observation or opinions is wrong or anything like that, mine is just different I just see her as very dangerous!!! And because of that she need to be removed before she cast greater harm haha you're taking-in this too much! chill down! |

| No series would be complete without the beach/pool episode and here it is. They all looked good in their swimsuits and obviously Bocchi had to wear the school one (just like Sotoka as a good apprentice). Smug Aru over Nako not knowing how to swim was great and of course, she harvested what she sowed. Then they all went to karaoke and when we were going to listen the much-loved Aru song, Kai appeared and for the first time I can say that I didn't like something of this show. I understand that what Kai wants to achieve with Bocchi goes beyond their promise and I understand that they are still kids and all that but it seems to me that the scene could have been done better. Like, why make Kai completely ignore and literally leave the friend she's trying to help crying on the floor? In the first episode we saw how it hurt to Kai to make that promise and the scene didn't have a really serious tone, so why make it so harsh now? They didn't even needed to make Kai super friendly to Bocchi, a thumbs up while she was with her back turned would have been enough to cheer Bocchi up and show her that she's on the right path, something! She is supposed to be helping her, not wanting to traumatize her more. Another thing I would have expected from that scene is that Nako or Aru would confront Kai for her attitude, I find it weird that Bocchi ended up crying on the floor and the others only looked at her. They could have had one of them confront Kai at that moment, see her crying and talked about it, something! IIt was kinda weird that Bocchi's friends just accepted what happened... The double barf was funny though. And finally the last girl from the opening showed up, I'm glad to hear Ichinose Kana, I really like her voice. It seems that Bocchi had a rather difficult start with her, let's see how their relationship develops. |
| Kai-chan being cold to Bocchi so she grows while hoping Bocchi forgets about her is really sad. She still does it anyway despite liking Bocchi :( I still feel bad for Bocchi :( Instead of Cavfee and Gween Tea we got Jrink Var :3 I don't get why Aru doesn't want Sotaka to be beside her. She's pretty gifted too surprisingly for an unfortunate --(Who are you calling an unfortunate!!) not at Sotaka's level but still. It would have been even funnier if Aru challenged Nako again for swimming. I can see her fail again against Nako lmao |

| I still have mixed feelings about her old friend. Not only because of all the anxiety it has given Bocchi but also because the both of them are under emotional turmoil. In any case, I'm just happy Bocchi has a group of nice friends now. |
| I'm not sure I understand kai-chan's reasoning. I get that she knows Bocchi has social anxiety but just "unfriending" her and then ignoring her like she's mad or something doesn't make much sense. What does Kai-chan think happens if she just stays friends with her? It's just kinda messed up and she's handling it wrong in my opinion. |

| Kai-chan is on my shitlist. However good her intentions, it won't erase her cruel behaviour this episode toward not only her friend, but also one with crippling social anxiety. I get she's a kid but the anime presents them as wiser beyond their years at other times so I'm holding them to that. Kid or not, cruel is cruel. First impressions are lasting so I don't see myself ever liking Kai-chan but she means a lot to Bocchi so I hope for her sake they reconcile. |

| This episode had me teary eyed from the part she had her dream & during her serious talk at the bench. Was then in tears along with Bocchi during Kai's scene! That truly felt so harsh though I do feel Kai is getting too much hate even though we've yet to fully understand her thoughts. This is certainly not the most mentally healthy way to support Bocchi but I truly do believe Kai is doing what she believes is the best in her own way. Since this encounter happened without warning or way to prepare I can imagine Kai didn't know how to handle her emotions and even though she may have wanted to speak, she feared Bocchi going back to her old self, possibly losing her new friends and once more depending on her even though she won't be able to be there for her during the scary harshness of being alone during school hours. I'm 100% sure Bocchi won't lose her friends but Kai knows nothing about what Bocchi's relationship with them is like so in that split moment and with all the emotions building up it'd be hard to know how returning to Bocchi's life would affect Bocchi. She knows Bocchi was able to make friends and even though this tough love is being extremely harsh on Kai's self as well maybe she thought not meddling until the promise is fulfilled will be the best way to ensure Bocchi is able to maintain the new friends she's made and proactive attitude she's gotten. Not saying anything may have been her messy way of showing support because she does believe Bocchi will manage to fulfill her promise or at the very least enjoy her time attempting to. I feel it's best to focus on the friend who is hurt (Bocchi in this case) & make attempts at soothing their emotions rather than confronting the aggressor/cause & leaving alone the one in pain. So from my perspective they were doing the right thing. Considering their personalities it is possible they would have confronted Kai but I believe that it shocked even them that their attempt to have Bocchi feel better ended in her crying even louder. Very different to her usual crybaby tears so it's understandable they may have been shocked not knowing what to do or how to handle the situation. | Kai-chan is an idiot. I understand she means well but she's being too cold to poor Bocchi and gave unrealistically high standards for her. Any sane and caring friend would only set small goals regularly to meet a larger goal not outright abandon their friend and force them to fend for themselves on an enormous task. Bocchi's problem is anxiety not lack of self reliance. |

| I enjoyed the pool scenes, and Aru's attempt to find some leverage in regards to Nako's teasing was over-the-top in all the right ways. Also, both of their swimsuits are damn cute. I don't really swim, so I just buy one of those $5 bikinis at Walmart every time I visit my grandpas who have a pool and get rid of it after. But anime swimsuits, man. Sometimes I get THIS CLOSE to searching for similar swimsuits online so I can own one, lol. I really want to write more on why I think Bocchi and Kai are both really shitty friends in general (though given age and context and stuff, it's understandable) but I'll save that for the finale this week. I just really wanted to say something about the swimsuits since everything else here is "MY FEELS! UGH KAI-CHAN" and this was a pool scene I really appreciated for once. Kinda sad that I'm impressed by a slice-of-life anime not sexualizing 13-year-olds while they do normal summer things, but eh. It's a start. |

| This making all your classmates friends to be friends with Kai-chan again is BS. Why make friends with everyone? She already made enough friends. Kai-chan's cold treatment is just uncalled for. The least she can do is acknowledge than ignore her. And why did Aru, Satoko, and even Nako say anything to her so-called friend? She knows Bocchi is crying and she did nothing. Bocch is better off without her and have fun with her current friends. That scene really ruined the episode for me. Nothing liking this in my cute, anime comedy. |

| I think I've not seen for ages girls on swings in anime.. Nice to see.. ;p Aru and Sotoka getting along quite well, it seems, which is also nice.. ;p They both can be energetic and positive, at times air-headed.. I just like how they look together as friends, honestly.. ;P Honestly, it's too much from Kai.. Come on, Bocchi already got friends.. Expect anyone to befriend whole class is ridiculous, really.. | couldnt help but be a bit annoyed with Bocchi met with Kai but at the same time i can understand why Kai is doing this but also at the same time she's taking a huge risk by doing so it may be still fresh atm but who know how things will end up later though i dont think Bocchi would be the type to forget Kai later on but still there is that chance it could happen as its a natural thing the more you spend apart from someone the more you can end up forgetting about them and moving on but will see how this series goes the anime is only a few more eps but hoping to read the manga right after but wow that part when they met each other game was pretty intense then they both threw up lol anyway great ep |

Now, now, let's not exaggerate. Kai-chan's ultimatum is easily the worst aspect of this series but at least it jump starts the plot. Plus she's cute and it's blatantly obvious she genuninely loves Bocchi. The mom in Hanebado was so fucking terrible and pissed me off so fucking much I dropped that trash like the garbage it was solely because of it/her. Seriously, fuck that cunt.(And I don't mean literally as she doesn't deserve to be fucked by anyone.) |
| Yeah Kai is a just a bitch. Let's be honest, that ultimatum was always pretty fucked up but this is a cute girls show so I just take it as comedy/quirky premise. Still when she straight up ignores Bocchi despite seeing that she made some friends I can't help but go "wtf." |

| Kai-chan doesn't deserve Bocchi's friendship. It's as simply as that. Her logic is so sick and twisted. But the episode was still pretty amazing and probably the best one so far. The girls were having so much fun together. :3 However, the ending was very emotional with Bocchi crying like a baby. :( Poor girl.. |

| This whole thing with Kai-chan and Bocchi is very weird and seems well over the top (really, a close group of friends should be enough), but I suppose it's what drives the plot. Still very funny and entertaining. |
| I'll never get tired of Bocchi's reactions. xD Poor girl. She tried to befriend Kako, but her plan failed miserably. :( Bocchi teaching Aru to swim was fun. Everyone looked so cute in their swimsuits. <3 I liked the karaoke part. However, it was a really sad moment when Kai made Bocchi cry. Well, at least she seems to happy that Bocchi had made some friends, but I really can't understand her twisted logic. |
