| What I thought would be some 1 VS 1 battle against the witch of Greed in this incorporeal realm turns out to just be small talk with a pair of cups of nice hot tea BODY FLUIDS!? I'd have to say, it's pretty dumb of Subaru not getting more info off of her and just walking out like that, though I can't help but laugh that the all-powerful witch of Greed begging Subaru to not end their conversation so easily and shortly, aw, she's cute! Welp, in the end, Subaru didn't even get to remember the fact that he talked with her anyways, so even sitting around and talking more wouldn't be much of a help to their current situation. There's a beast girl and now a male counterpart. A wild character has joined the party! Now that they reached the 'sanctuary', I'm relieved that Ram and Roswaal are safe along with the other portion of villagers. A shame that they're trapped there due to the barrier, but that's something that they'll have to go through anyways. And at long, long last... Emilia got the respect and friendly connection that she has always deserved from the villagers! Finally!!! It's about damn time. Ok... The ending, umm what? Subaru's backstory!? This is really intriguing. |

| It was cute to see Emilia befriending with the villagers! :) Subaru's poses when he cheered up Emilia before that Trial were the most cringey ones so far, lmao. I liked the cliffhanger. It seems that Subaru will either return to Japan, or will have to experience a simulation of his life from the times before he was teleported to Emilia's universe. |

| I'm surprised so many people say Echidna is cute. She didn't at all give me cute vibes, except that one moment when she went all cute and silly but it felt weird, out-of-character (at least for now, maybe there will be an explanation to that, I hope so). I have a hard time seeing her as a cute and misunderstood "bad guy against her will" type of character, there are too many red flags. She seems to be quite interesting though, I'm looking forward to how things will go. I also wondered something, it'll probably sound very stupid but, the barrier makes half-blood people pass out, right ? If so how exactly did they manage to get there anyway ? For Emilia it makes sense since Subaru and Otto were there, but what about the others ? For the rest it seems the show has some interesting things to show us. However I'm a bit worried about Subaru being back to his old life. I know he most likely isn't technically there, but we still are going to see his past and while I don't mind that at all and understand that it is unnecessary, I really hope it won't take too long before getting back to the main plot. (On a side note, I have a really hard time taking anyone seriously when they say "Garfiel", for obvious reasons. I'm such a kid.) |

| That's great since Subaru took the test too, but what was that test actually? I'm still confused. Rosewall takes the test but he fails, so Rosewall is badly injured, at least he is still conscious. They met someone he shouldn't have met but was that person Frederica's younger brother? It's very similar, hhmm... They all wanted to see Echidna just to ask, damn.Why did Rosewall respect Echidna so much? So they forbid Emilia not to call her a witch, but Roswell told Emilia to call her Echidna. Indeed this episode is still a lot of puzzles but what is certain is that Subaru's past will now be interesting, the last minute isn't that Subaru's father? What is the reason Subaru is summoned to that world, and also why does Subaru have the Reset ability? Hopefully the next episode can answer that question, And also 10/10 for this eps. |

| Echidna's reaction to Subaru leaving was amusing. Although it would've been interesting to learn more about the witches. Roswall being injured was definitely unexpected. I'm curious about what the trial would be like. We are actually going to get Subaru's backstory? Wut? I don't remember Subaru ever caring about his family since the series began so this is easily the most surprising thing in this season so far. |

animejas said: May just be me but the way the episode flowed felt blazing fast. Especially with the Echidna part, felt like I was watching it on 1.5x. Otherwise, not too bad in terms of content despite the horrendous pacing. I do somewhat like Echidna in the novels and having Maaya Sakamoto (2nd favorite anime voice actor/actress overall) voice her was a nice added bonus. The tea joke felt like a complete miss though in the anime due to how fast everything felt for me. Also, just skimmed through the LN portion of this episode and man this episode definitely came across as really rushed. Arc 4 in general is very content heavy compared to something like Arc 3 so seeing them try to stuff everything in to make it fit in a cour does not seem too promising. So far, the actual events haven't been too bad for me but the way its presented this season just feels incredibly awkward and all over the place. Similar opinions now. On paper, would have been decent but the execution was off. This season is much more dense in lore and world building than the first season which only featured subtle build to have that explored much deeper in this season. So having episodes rush this and have pacing be awkward, only hampers the experience even more and the tone shifts don't click too well here either. Echidna's still really good, Garfiel's intro was alright and the cliffhanger at the end with Subaru and his father was good. But the whole episode felt clunky to me with how it flowed even now. |

Well since she's so knowledgeable I assumed she would know about his special condition even if he stayed very vague. Also I would assume the witch can't kill a dead witch. But fair enough, still there are a lot more questions he could've asked, I hoped we'd get some answers to all those questions. |
| another really good episode. some nice world building and the truth of the sanctuary being revealed was interesting. emilia continues to progress more and more as a character which is goof to see. subaru being shown his past before coming to this world is something i never expected to see and i'm looking forward to it in the next episode. |
| So the villagers are stuck due to the barrier and the only way to pass through it is by clearing a trial or something like that. During the trial something happens when Subaru rushed to save Emilia and bam he's sent back to the actual world!!! Does that ever happen in isekai? Well, whatever the case, this is a pretty interesting turn of events. |

| This show is constantly tripping me up with stuff I'm never going to remember and I'm tired of pausing for weird lines. The dialogue in this show is so funky. So hard to get into this season, nothing like the first season. Is the dub bad or poorly mixed or am I tripping? I guess that's what happens when you switch from sub to dub, but it's really throwing me for a loop. Like they're supposed to be English words but everything is slightly off... no rhythm to this at all. |
| I expected that to happen, that Emilia will need rescuing and Subaru would come to her rescue and will be able to because he got permission from Echidna. But going back to his world was unexpected. |
