| Better late than never, here i am continue what i left from 86. Looks like Lena still continued her role as a Handler and leading another squadron under her hands. Meanwhile, she also had some young subordinates which seems to be handling some other part of her job researching the best approach beside leading the 86 squadron as a Handler. As same as usual, but she got more handful helps from them, however the process its required. Her uncle still unsupported and became more fierceful, but as expected Lena able to handle him, with smug. What about his suspicious look near the end of Lena's part? Hopefully its nothing. Back to the usual Shin part too. I got to know, he was clearly saved during the end of first cour. Never expect its comes from the remnant of the Giadian Empire residents, which currently there called themself as a Republic Federation of Giad. Wise provisional president, and looks like kind enough. Too bad Shin and gang won't take his joke into matter while he asked to be call 'Dad'. But, interesting to hearing more of their story, and especially with the loli Empress, Frederica. |

| The problem with vol.1 adaptation was that despite being really successful, the writing in that volume is on another level, how everything flows, it was poetry to me reading that volume. Vol.2 and Vol.3 were considered inferior in many regards, at least IMO, while still being interesting additions, expanding the world in a meaningful way, thus, as I expected, this director does get it, and he really is pulling the works. Dare I say this Part 2 will be better than the source LN volumes, the director knows how to improve things, via the addition of original scenes, they don't need to be long, just be smart and contextualize well. As long as they keep this outstanding team adapting the source material, and giving it proper budget, we are in for an awesome ride indeed. MT got a dreamlike adaptation, the likes I have never seen for an LN source, 86's is also getting some major love... so many LN adaptations suck, soo refreshing to see these 2 going beyond, making small but smart changes/additions where it was needed... this is how any proper amazing LN should be treated! On the specifics of this episode, was great to see Bloody Reina from the start, liked how they connected the end of ep11 with this one, where Shin is getting carried by his brother, goes very well with the fact that Rei was carrying Shin and his squad away from the battlefield, as a Dinosauria, probably trying to get them to Giad, this was the final moments of his brother, and really to the end he still saved his little brother life... it was subtly implied, a bit more direct with that ending, where I guess his brother wrote his name on part of his Dinosauria armor and wanted Shin to carry this with him on his journey. It is refreshing to see Giad animated, because it is a break from the ruins we mostly see on Part 1, and a much less oppressive, more free society than Magnolia is. But most of all, they did Frederica even better than I expected, I think I envisioned her voice being a bit holder, but this was just perfect. I think her character, at least so far, comes across better than what did on the LN, and certainly, going back to the LN after this will give me a better idea on how I can imagine her character. Also, Frederica herself represents the last renmants of that bygone era, as Ernst said, "Empress". |

| Damn. It's back. I'm so excited! I loved the first season, and I feel the second is just going to be even better. Lena is even more badass than in the first season. She's lost her naivete, but her ideals remain. Now she's a hardcore commander who will try to keep her 86ers alive for as long as possible, and destroy the Legion in the process. Seems like it's not just her now. I don't know how her friendship with Anette is now like, but it seems there's a cadre of younger officers who share the same ideals as her supporting her. Loved that. Wow, to think there's another state still alive. The Giad Federacy. Don't know what to think of them so far, but I'm glad Shin and the others are alive. It seems they are a more normal country i.e. not authoritarian and using the 86ers. The loli was okay. But I guess she's the actual former Empress of Giad. Can't wait to watch more! |

| I'm intrigued that the implied rescue of the 86 by Rei still hasn't been clarified in the anime. Is this something that was left hanging in the LN too? |

| Lena character has improve a lot, and the new 86 team leader is respecting Lena as well. Shin and his team survive, and now they are on different army... I guess Shin, his 4 friends, and new team will fight Lena team heh?? |

| Wow Starting of Part 2 with a Strong Episode... what a plot twist, really thought they gonna turn into Legion and go destroying San Magnolia lol so they are now in the Federal Republic of Giad, it's interesting to see how they gonna meet Lena in the future. |

| So, they didn't die, on the contrary. I hoped it wouldn't be a fake out. Even without being able to watch it back to back i don't think it was a real surprise to most, so the only thing it did was cheapen the original story told. Anyways, it looks like at least Lena is doing mighty fine, she did actually pull out all the stops. Too bad it's not the new Spearhead squadron, if there is one, that she handles, but the other aren't much better off anyways i guess. I think they'd have her moved to another squad anyways, so the demotion did nothing, on the contrary, looks like she has actual staff now. Wonder where she picked them up, we never saw her interact with anyone there but her friend and her commander. I still think it would have been better to let Spearhead die and focus on how Lena deals with the new one, but that would probably be way off the source material, so.. |
| Yeahh !! we back again in 2nd cour... Scene started with Lena perspective as now Lena rank has been downgraded to Captain because of security breach that she did before (using mortars). And to respect 86 especially Shin and co. and she colored a strain of her hair red and using black uniform. With her outstanding performance as a handler now and how her act toward alba & 86, people surrounding called her Bloody-Regina. Now She even had a guts to talk high & mighty and persuade her shitty higher-ups. It seems she also got some good Alba's around her who helped her managing the resources. She still met up with Annette to had a snacks and little chit chat like usual. Another introduction of newly Spearhead Squadron that she handled now, mainly the captain "Cyclops' a.k.a Shiden Iida. Moving on to Shin now. Waking up from his dream of his brother say goodbye to him and asked him to take care and happy forever. He woke up in some sort of closed facility and approaced by someone with hazmat kinda suit. He removed his suit and introduced as Ernst Zimmermain, the current president of "Giad Federation" he explain shortly about the federation that actually defeated the Giad Empire who made the Legion. He showed Shin his comrades afterwhile that also rested in the same room separated by see-through glasses. The federation also removed their embedded Para-Raid in their ears and nape. As Ernst walking out from the room we could see the squad had some little moment together, and somehow we could see a destroyed Dinosauria that said to be with them (We already could tell what this means rite? especially with Shin's dream XD) Outside we could see the federation mechs called Vanagandr who looks bigger and seems slower. Ernst decided to made them a Federation citizen and become their guardian. On the way to his home they saw a lot of citizen who take a pity on 86 they want to support and help them. In Ernts home finally we got introduced to important character that had a glimpse in previous cour, Frederica that also adopted by Ernst. He asked them to regard her as their little sister. Liked her character and antics here, Her VA also fitted her characteristic. Despite her younger age it seems she had a great wisdom, looking by her wordings. We got also introduced to the housemaid Theresa. In the end it seems Shin still bothered by Rei as he looked at his brother remaining frightenedly... and Episode ended with the new OP, Kyoukaisen by Amazarashi.. pretty lit to be honest, loved the sequences tho with implied the long awaited "ShinLena" reunion at the end XD. Really excited to enjoy this remaining journey of 86 lets go.... |

| that old guy seems nice but i think he's just trying to observe them and make sure they aren't spies. i wouldn't be surprised if that protest wasn't planned too. something's fishy, but i hope not. derp i should've waited for that end scene. i'm excited to see how this plays out and if there's going to be any interaction with millze |

| First episode of the 2nd season started off strong. Shin's doing okay~ish. Lena's side hasn't changed much since last time >_< |
| Phew at least we know Shin and the others are still alive and ok, but these people seem nice but there's got to be more too it! They're kind of suspicious, Like how Ernst almost called her Empress!! It's so nice to see that Lena is now more confident and not just sitting back letting things happen if YK what i mean, she's even confronting her superiors face to face and not just running of complaining to her uncle. The dyed red hair is also a nice touch! She's become much more enjoyable to watch. :) |

| I love little touch of Lena making own little clique of young republic officers that by look of it (just a glimpse basically) she managed to convinced to take things and their duty seriously. 86 novels almost made Lena look like some kind of saint or maybe only sane person in Republic, but she can't handle things by herself it's just imposible and even if she did that would make her some kind of dictator in future. Yes there were mentions in novels that except her father, uncle and best friend some republic officer with consience actually kept files on all 86 that he was suppose to destroyed so they wouldn't be forgoten. But I think that was literally it. 4 people in novels. Lena convincing other to join her club makes much more sense. |

| So happy I'm finally back to this fantastic series. First episode was great and it's nice to finally see another civilization outside Magnolia. Curious to see whether the Republic will end up being friend or foe for our guys. Lena looks friggin' badass. Love her personality change too! |

| So Shin and the rest of Spearhead managed to survive somehow. It's difficult to believe that the Legion didn't kill them all before the Giad remnants rescued them, but if that's what keeps the plot going... Ernst and the Giad sympathising with Spearhead so openly is suspicious, and makes it look like they have ulterior motives. There's a sense of polarity when comparing the dehumanising treatment San Magnolia that Spearhead received, and the overly cosseted care they're being afforded by Giad. Considering there was a rally where the people of Giad were calling them "pitiful comrades" who should be "saved", it may be that Spearhead are seen as props by Giad, who can be patronised to in order to vilify San Magnolia. Vladilena's new red stripe in her hair is neat. Doesn't look out of place when matched with the black uniform. |

| Love the parallels to the first episode. Lots of symbolism too with the leaking crack in the marble fountain. Although that shot of Lena walking with the sword crossing her neck leaves me a little worried for her fate, this show loves decapitations after all. Overall it's very triumphant seeing Lena has learned to navigate the bureaucracy to get results, and she even has other alba officers supporting her. |
| Zimmerman has such a shady aura but I'm just gonna cautiously think he's an alright dude just for treating Spearhead like actual people. The little sister may be annoying but can't deny her drawing was adorable lol |
