| Puuh I finally made it, took me exactly 5 months to finish. Was it worth it ? Well,Gintama was indeed a mixed bag and the quality of the episodes ranged from lame to awesome,but since I'm valuing the positive experiences over the negative ones I will settle for a 6/10 (might become a 7) The best things about the show were definitely the cast, how the staff handled budget issues and the variety and creativity in general. |

| Overall, I'd put this series on par with The Simpsons. Not perhaps seasons 3-9, because who will ever match that? The greatest writing room mankind has ever known on an animated parody/comedy/family show. But every other season? Easily fair game. And at its brightest, Gintama competes with those classic episodes. Basically Simpsons west, with a couple of star wanderer characters all brought together under a hazy sun. Gintama is excellent. It's a shame so many drop, one of the best anime series ever. So glad that there's more, already started on the next season. After falling apart in laziness for 12-15 episodes, they really crunched the numbers and ended this original streak in style. |

| Got into Gintama quite late but finally finished this first season and can easily say this is one of the greatest shows ever made, with a perfect balance between ridiculous comedy and completely serious topics, along with an absolutely brilliant cast and production team. One of the few shows that can have me crying with laughter to crying with sadness in the span of a few episodes, sometimes even in the same episode. Some may have been slower than others but I don't think there is anything I would change about them at all, they did exactly what they were trying to do and did it perfectly. 10/10 |
| What a fantastic final 2 episodes. The comedy and the love between the characters really shows (Yes, even Madao x)) Honestly ... I didn't think I'd like this show as much as I did, the first 10 to 20 episodes didn't really convince me but the more I watched, the more invested I became in the characters, the more impact all the arcs had on me. Not just the serious arcs either, there were some mini arcs that focused on completely new characters (like the old man and his dog) that impacted me more than a regular 12 episode anime could. The references were great, the comedy was on point and aside from maybe a few lackluster episodes it was definitely one of the better anime I've seen in a while. 10/10 I should have watched it more often when I started but I only started really watching regularly in the last 3 weeks, from episode 88 to 201 (End of Dec. till now) |

| A very funny episode and a great end to a nice little arc. Honestly, if I hadn't known that I've about 100+ episodes still left, I would've been totally depressed. One of the best anime I have seen and definitely in my top favorites. It was a perfect blend of comedy and drama, hilarious and heartwarming, raunchy and beautiful all at the same time. But the best thing were the amazing, quirky characters and their relationships. I was really not expecting much from this show but it managed to completely blow away all my expectations. Even with some less than stellar episodes, it remains one of the best ever. |

| WOOOH Finally made it to the last episode of this season after almost 2 months. Thankfully I really did watch Gintama, I remember trying to watch this a few years ago but were always stuck in episode 1, maybe it was not the right time yet. I really did enjoy the 201 episodes, though there are some episodes that are not good, there's much more that are really, really hilarious, heart warming and great ones. Such a delightful experience. Ok on to the next season... |

| I finally finished the original Gintama, only took me three years lol. Though I did binge about 110 episodes in just over two weeks. It's a 10/10 for me, I loved the comedy of Gintama and how much they sustained it throughout the whole four years. I've said it before, but the fact that the tonal shift to more serious themes happens less often, it makes the pay off that more gratifying. I'll never understand people complaining about tonal shifts.... Very much looking forward to the next season, I hear Gintama just keeps on getting better and better.... |

| Well, that was some next level storytelling by Kagura. Loved the wholesome and sweet ending. Merry Christmass I guess. I don't have much to say about the last small arc but I'll write a bit for the whole serie in general. It was the perfect blend of comedy and deep, joyful sadness which somehow created a marvelously unique and delicious dish. A wonderful job from the staff team. And this couldn't have been made without the mangaka. Well, the journey has just begun. I'm still at the first season and there are a ton of things left to watch. | At least it wasn't for the cockroach, but the "girlfriend" ending was really fun xD though the "merry last episode" hit hard :( at least there are several seasons after this one... anyway that was sure an incredible 1st season for Gintama and probably my favorite comedy anime ever, just loved everything about it from the characters to the ideas, the parodies and even the serious arc, definitely a 10/10 show IMO (my fav episodes for this season are ep 79, 119, 151,152 and 188) |

| Rewatching Gintama for the first time in like 6 years and it’s still as hilarious as when i first watched it. I was kinda afraid the jokes not gonna be as funny as i remember but this shit is still elite This 1st season will always have a special place in my heart for all the fuckery it had. after this the story starts getting more & more serious and it starts losing some of its charm |

| I didn't find this show particularly funny or think it was smart at mixing drama in with funny jokes but it was to keep me entertained for 2 months. I might just settle with a 5/10 and see if the second season improves a little |
| Kind of a weak episode to finish such a long show, oh well. I'm not sure if my expectations were too high or if it's just overhyped in general. But during these 201 episodes I did not really laugh as much as I hoped I would. Most of the time it was just someone doing something stupid and Shinpachi screaming why that's stupid. The serious arcs were quite predictable and generic. Characters were okay I guess? There wasn't really anyone who stood out and who I was enjoying seeing onscreen more than the others. Maybe Tsukuyo was my favorite character overall, but she did not get a lot of screentime. 6/10 for this show, hoping for improvement in the sequels. |
| Madao, always a cockroach. Honestly, as a season finale it was sort of weak, i was waiting in the final minutes for more wild hysterical amazing meta commentary about the show but this time, there wasn't. Whatever. This is the only anime for now that has a chance to surpass Haruhi Suzumiya as my favorite one. I'm still not that into the serious arcs even if they are almost always filled with funny moments, but almost the entirety of the slice of life / straight up comedy episodes make up for them, a lot. Already cosplayed as Gintoki recently and was happily surprised that about ten people came to me asking for pictures with them. Also planning to cosplay as Sogo (that eye mask is so cool) and Elizabeth. Still thinking about if there is a little, extremely small chance to have at least this first season dubbed in italian in its entirety as the first 49 episodes have already been. Someone from the same company recently opened a... possibility? |

| Well I guess this is it for at least this much of Gintama, it was a very interesting ride with certain ups and downs specially in the beggining but then slowly it was awesome to witness all those great short serious arcs and comedy arcs that carried this whole thing, I really am looking forward to see whats left there to see in the other seasons |
| i began episode 1 on november 5th and today is december 10th so last arc being a christmas arc is kinda perfect for me. glad i watched this through the holidays, that's why it only took a little over a month but that was still a great journey. my new 2nd fave anime, now onto more gintama content!! |

| this last ED (the whole ginpachi-sensei theme with them all graduating) hits quite literally differently now knowing that while gintama is technically over, we’ll still have it in essence with the ginpachi-sensei spin-off anime adaption that was announced about a month ago. i’m looking forward to it so much, i’m not ready to be without these characters for good yet. also? how insane is it that if you finish this first season of gintama, all 201 episode, you’ve already made it well past the halfway mark of the series because even though there’s several other season, the episode count of all of those combined total about 166 (not including recap movies, the original movie, and the ovas). |

| Funny episode to end Gintama. I still cant believe they ended the season that way. I thought we would see a post credit scene or maybe Gintoki explaining the situation or something like that but it just ended. Oh well it has been an awesome journey so far and I am looking forward to the next season. |
