Why Tagaki is the spitting image of Light? This anime is kinda weird the first opening I was like WTH! Then we got hit by a second opening that is totally shoujo like another WTH from me. Overall I kinda like.

I abandoned the manga because it bored me, but I'm going to give a chance to this to see if the animated version is more entertaining, plus I need to see Eiji in action <3

It's finally here. The 1st ep was entertaining and faithful to the manga. The VA are great and the OP song fits perfectly, the animation is a little off but it doesn't matter to me if I can see Bakuman animated. The marriage proposal was funny, the anime references were cool and loved the joker quote. I can't wait for the next ep and to see Eiji.

"Now I anit sayin she a golddigger"
What a great way to ensure cash and happyness, that girl = genious: We'll marry after you're a success, in the men time, I'll ignore you".

Great serise; a change from what I normally watch, yet quite relatable.

Nice, better than anything i saw until now although the artwork could use a little more work since it seems the cap to the manga artwork is bigger than what i expected.
I remember reading the first few chapters of this manga with out even knowing the name of it(only that it was done by the Death Note guys) and then i never found much time to read more.

BTW this story seems that it must have some inspiration from their lives considering the similarities. A guy drawing the art and the other making the stories and all that.

Of course she's a gold-digger. That's how most women are. And i hear the phenomenon is especially strong in Japanese society.
You can't blame them though. That's how nature made them. It goes back to when people were living in caves and women fought to become the woman of the strongest guy who was the better hunter because that will give better prospects for their child. That's how they are. They want a man with money and power because he can give more help to their children.
Men look for beauty and women look for power, that's how it works.

I really liked the monologue in the beginning of this show, most likely because I can easily connect with it. The adults ask him, "What are you dreams for the future?" And he just answers, "I don't have a clue." That's exactly me. I can also connect with how he does things because they're "normal." Anyways, I just thought it was cool.

Another thing I liked in this show was the references to other popular anime/mangas. "Why so serious? It's not like it's a Death Note, right?" Hah, that was priceless. Did anyone else notice that the guy who said that has the same hair as Light Yagami? (Yes, I already know it's the same people who did DN)

I wonder why he said,"Plus, there's no way we're going top Dragonball or One Piece!" and didn't mention Naruto or Bleach. DB, yes, legendary show no one will let us forget, but I thought Naruto was more popular than One Piece. Oh well, I still love the reference.

Overall, looks like a promising show that'll have a good story with depth. I can't wait to see more. :)

The opening feels old but it reminds of Hikaru No Go so i'll let it go. The voices weren't as I imagined, specially Mashiro's, but I'll get used to them.
For me, an anime almost never beats the manga but this is a nice adaptation :D

Bakuman is a series I've been wanting to reading for awhile, but never got around to. The show definitely looks really good, and I will enjoy watching it each week.

After the anime finishes, I will definitely start reading the manga.

And so begins the anime about a manga about making manga in the hopes of making an anime. (Try saying that three times fast.)

I liked the first episode, although some things bothered me. Takagi should have lighter hair (should be more blonde), Miho should have darker hair (should be black) and Kaya's voice should be less annoyingly nasal. Other than that I think everything is pretty much spot on.

Looking forward to when Eiji appears. :DDDDD

This adaptation is only 25eps, so I wonder at what point they'll stop.

As everyone said, the art could use more budget but seeing as JC Staff has a lot of shows this season, they probably put the minimum budget here(I can only guess where most of the budget goes). Voices were not as I expected but it was fitting. I'll get used to it. Other than that, this episode was excellent. Met my expectations. I want to see the rest of the cast soon enough. And more references like in the manga.

As a follower of the manga since day one, I can safely say that JC Staff has done a very good job so far. Bakuman isn't an anime that needs high budget animation. Besides, I thought it was rather clean and well animated anyway. And the pacing for the first episode was as good as can be expected, especially for a manga (now anime) about writing manga. It both met and exceeded my expectations.

Seeing Taro Kawaguchi's anime opening was a pretty nice touch at the beginning too. It was actually pretty cool.

This will probably be one of the best shows this season. I'm not impressed at all from what I've seen of Star Driver so far. Can't speak for the other shows quite yet though.

BTW: Bakuman is better experienced if you make a slight adjustment to gg's script timings and remux it with the font attachments to Zero-Raw's most recent 720p encode. It might be an upscale, but it's a damned nice one. That, or gg's original raw just sucked.

Not bad... not bad... So then this will be a 25 episode long series... Season... Interesting... So I have no idea where they could possibly stop at.... Maybe when... nah too dramatic... Anyway the story looks promising... Me being a manga reader then I wasn't surprised with anything of this episode... Yet there were parts that wasn't exactly there in the manga or omitted from the manga... yet the substance is there...

The story is not common and that's what I like the most of this series... Tell me who else has ventured into narrating this kind of story? I've never heard of someone going it and succeding... That's pretty much why I love this series...

So then... Definitely the animation is the worse thing of this story... Not what I expected to see if Bakuman was going to get an Anime.... But it's JC Staff the one animating this... so I ain't surprised since I watched KWMS!, another anime from the same studio... a shame they're the ones animating this.... Anything else is good/great... And I thought the VA didn't fit the characs... yet... They do!!! Never expected Saiko's VA to be so... wow... he has the voice of a narrator... I love that n_n and Takagi's ain't that manly as I thought it was going to be from the trailer... Oh and the OP & ED... I definitely found the OP cheesy and corny... yet the ED is awesome... but both are good... likeable I guess

Oh and the marrying to the doorbell scene was definitely funney... Dude btw, Miho is way sexier and cuter than in the manga... at least JC Staff made a great work animating her :p I loved her... no wonder why Saiko loves her so much :P that even confessed her love to her and wanna marry her... tho those words were fueled by his uncle's will... xD Oh the uncle's story is still sad here.... Well already wanna see everything else that happens later!!! Esp the mangas and Eiji!

With all the crazy and supernatural animes airing this season, it was nice to just to kickback and watch this.

Nice way to put it, I agree.

This is my first anime that I've read the manga before watching the anime/before an anime was made.

I thought the music ruined it slightly for me, similar with the voice acting (first impression anyway). I'm on say Chapter 80 of the manga... kinda taken a break/gone retail (only two volumes out in states iirc). I dunno, i'd like to see an anime where its just literally an animated manga - no sound just the animation and subs. I'd be fine with that.

Ending credits got me excited about the upcoming story again.

AAA, I loved the Super Hero Legend-opening!! ♥ The first episode was okay. I just can't wait to see Akira Hattori and Team Fukuda- and of course Eiji - animated!

Yes, I'm looking forward to the next episode.

Since I've read 103 chapters of Bakuman and it's still on-going, I'm wondering how they'll end the anime. But we'll see~

Im glad to see they kept the comedic moments in tact, I was thinking they might go for a more serious tone, but no, good laughs along the way. Still mixed about Saiko's voice, but ill get used to it, although no shots of his Air Forces....

"It's not like it's a Death Note.", and that being said by someone who isn't all that different in appearance to Light. xD
Anyway, I guess this'll be... Pretty decent.
On the downside, the art looks too much like in Hatsukoi Limited >.>

And what's with the super-bland cast list? >.>

But god did I laugh when Mashiro suddenly blurted out that stuff about marriage xD

Very fine first episode, I'm really enjoying the concept and how it's being pulled off - this looks so promising - and most of all: The story is super-interesting with it's potential to look backstage into to daily lives of a mangaka. I kind of like how Mashiro is such a realist, while still being full of energy - it's an interesting combination, since shounen-leads are often anything but realistic. And that coming from a really idealistic guy like me ::laughs::

The combined impression of first anime Ep + reading the largely positive manga-reviews of it has really got me hyped-up ^___^

Great first episode. They adapted everything faithfully from the manga and the voices seemed to fit the characters perfectly which isn't always the case when you first watch an anime adaption of a long running manga. The animation wasn't the best but it's nowhere near as bad as, say Fairy Tail's was when that first started last year.

The Voice actors doesn't have suited, like in Miho, but if the anime takes 1/10 of the quality of the manga we can expet an second season.
