it sounded like sacred blacksmith with the voices, but looked and felt like special A. neither being that great. I hope this holds my attention, the 1st ep wasn't too bad.

I wonder how long this maid gag will sustain this show for.
Usui seems rather dull. The stereotypical top of the class shonen.

Also, everything feels like it's happening too fast.
If this show's pace slowed a little maybe I could appreciate it more.

But overall, I dunno about this show.
Might just check out the manga.

Yay! Shoujo does some things so much better. Their rarity too also helps. =P
Hopes are soaring! Let them stay there. And wow, 9 pages in 3 days... Not bad.
Nothing really catching but i am a sucker for the getting sick thing so i liked this episode. A++. According to everyone else the plot is progression fast too which is good just as long as it doesn't run out of material. Won't bother to pick up the manga till after the anime ends and then continue from there.

The first episode was enjoyable and interesting, I kind of got Special A feeling in this Anime. But one thing that I don't find is logical, she really wanted to become a Student Council President despite of her economical condition in which she needs to get a part-time job, besides she needs to keep on her grade too, thus made her become a very busy person then fall ill eventually :P

I thought the animation quality was fine. It's crisp and clean, I can't find too much to complain about. Anime drawings will always be different (or "lower quality" as you guys are saying) to the manga, Shoujo style drawings would be very time consuming to replicate. Either way I am not particularly fussed, I can't help how people think.

Overall I think it was a good introduction to the series. I admit to being surprised when they showed her life at home but it's not a major change to the overall story. This will probably be one of my highlights for this season.

Meh.. Average Episode. The premise was interesting at first, but barring the whole maid thing, its just a generic plot with uninteresting characters that will eventually fall into all the shoujo cliches. On the animation, character design, and music department it seems JC Staff is not even trying, I just hope they dont mess up Bakuman.

Granted I've only caught 5 of the new Spring shows so far, but this is one is by far the best. Love the lead characters. They're funny, strong, very likable and the chemistry is there. Character designs and artwork in general are attractive enough. The premise is very straight forward, so it's all about the execution - and the first episode was nearly flawless. I can see why the manga is popular. Can't wait for the next episode.

I'm sure alot of people here already said it but the art is very dull.
I looked at the background many times to see if i was imaging things but i wasn't.
They seem to only use one color or at least alot of greeen 0.o
And the plot seems rushed I was expecting him finding out at the end not at the begining

I don't agree with you....I find the colors very nice and have no problem with them....eventually they will improve it better same thing happened with Fairy Tail and it went better as the story progressed.
sweetlollipop said:
When you compare the manga to the anime, you'll see that the manga is much better
But overall I think this anime is worth spending time on
I only saw some expressions/drawing styles better.....overall it's all about getting used to this anime's style.....people get used to it and start loving it more or do not and will complain about somethings....no problem I love reading either of those comments.

Well, since I haven't read the manga, I came into this thinking it was going to be another anime full of fan service....and I am glad to say that it isn't.
I am with you on that 100% because I also though the same thing.

OH YEAH !!

After missing great romance series from last season when Nodame Cantabile Finale and Kimi ni Todoke ends, comes a new great romance anime : Kaichou wa Maid-sama

The different shoujo-temed feeling make me feel some fresh romance. Also Eclipse is subbing it, i hope this will be a 25 episode one with a conclusion, not like KimiTodo who keeps on the manga and put the story on hold.

I expect much from this !

Tsundere female lead: check.
Female lead that overworks herself, falls ill but the male lead is there to help her when she's about to pass out: check.
Male lead is a jerk and is only interested (secretely) in the female lead: check.
Special A similarities: check.
One word: cliche.

First episode was so-so, but I think I'll give it a couple more episodes.

This anime is...average to me...
One thing I don't like is Misaki is too overwork & don't know how to rest.
Hate girls like that.
And the position when Takumi save her, it shows like Misaki is a weak girl....don't like it....

P/S: My mind is kinda different from you all I guess...sorry

This show was somewhat on the background for me, so I didn't expect much, but it was actually surprisingly good. A lot of funny moments that made me smirk more then once and two likeable main characters. And not to forget it gets subbed by Eclipse, which is another big plus. Eclipse just seems to pick one great anime after another lately and I'm glad they picked this (another Shoujo even) to replace Kimi ni Todoke.

Anyway, considering this was a first episode I have high hopes for this show.

Yeah me too. She really looks similar.

I have to say that i enjoyed this episode. It is in the usual school environment but the anime flows very nice and is so easy to watch. This where the gifts Nyan Koi had also that was great despite not being anything revolutionary.
This series would probably be a little more serious though cause it's not about cats but more about romance.
I have a feeling am gonna enjoy watching this one.

That guy will get a lot of fangirls with that silent cool guy style and the girl will get her share of fans too as it seems.

So far Ive only watched Vampire Knight, in that genre.

But yeah. This was decent. Not too crazy about the animations though.

Where exactly was he a bad boy charachter? I saw nothing of the kind. Except if saying "hmm" with an indifferent look in your face is evil and i had no idea about it.

It's fun to hear blacksmith and boobsmith argue again. I enjoyed this episode a lot so I think I'm going to like this anime. I like the art; it reminds me of Aoi Hana and Taishou Yakyuu Musume.

Huh, only the first episode and already Usui is a creeper and a Gary Stu. Yay. And I believe next episode he becomes a mouth-rapist too? Fun. Now I remember why I dropped the manga.

Is Misaki's little sister anime-only? She's awesome, I hope we see more of her than the protagonists.

Huh, I loved Misaki in the manga but in the anime she seems...ugh. But I was always on-off with her anyway...

Dunno what everyone's problem is with the art. Not the character art, anyway (cept them blazers, that colour is...not...right...). I never thought Usui was that good looking in the manga anyway, other than because of the manga-ka's art style. He had weird hair. It looks better in the anime.

Meh, it's mildly amusing, i'll keep watching until I get sick of Usui.

I'm giving the debut a 4/5. I'm enjoying the manga thus far, so I figured I'd enjoy the series. Thus far, I am. The characters are interesting, even though Misaki grates on me at times. The animation sort of irks me, though I do give JC props for using painted backgrounds. The character designs seem to be about normal for their standards, but nothing special. Usui's appearance seems a little...off to me, but Misaki looks great, IMO.

I'm eagerly awaiting this week's installment.

Soooo cute ~~ and funny ^^

I actually fell in love with the manga and was a little sceptic about the animation style [and the way they're gonna handle the story] but they wraped things up quite nicely ~
Like the opening, love the ending ~ And I'm pleased they're gonna include the fireworks scene in the anime *praying it's at least an 24 eps long anime*

I agree with this though: Usui is a lot sexier in the manga :P

A very nice albeit cliché shojo introduction episode. Similar to Special A but better for now since the male and female lead are more interesting and JC Staff know perfectly what they're doing.
