Welcome back Aoi-san! So how are you doing so far and post-holidays?

With Silent Möbius (it's sequel included), Wild Arms 2 and Sakura Wars 1-4 around, I've decided to study Japanese since last June.

Now I got a Terabox full of screenshots that I took from Nihongodera. That and Word Reference have been really helpful online tools. I also got the old Instant Japanese book uploaded to Terabox so it'll stick with me forever too.

Yes, the old book that taught me basic and general Japanese on behalf of a real sensei. That is, Boyé Lafayette de Mente or Boyé-sensei. May he RIP and I hope that his daughter has had plenty of joyful trips in Japan.

A friend of mine exactly your age is learning German. Could be useful for reading this Lindbergh manga. I might get into that after Silent Möbius QD.

Many Japanese prefer to use hiragana, but kanji helps reduce excess writing for me. Sometimes Chinese characters are more memorable than heavy kanas.

Overall, it's kind of an easy language to learn and I hope to master it by April.

With that said, I hope that you'll have an awesome Year of the Dragon.

2023 or Year of the Rabbit is okay. Therefore, I'm doing rather well this year.

I was re-watching Ghost in the Shell: 2nd Gig and Madlax recently (I love Houko Kuwashima).

As for future Macross movies, I expect the new movies to perform really well. CGI is definitely the future and I hope that the special effects will be wicked like Blue Submarine no. 6. Definitely one of the most original CG anime that I grew up with.

Hello again miss! So what do you think of Harmony Gold and Big West coming to terms about bringing future Macross movies across the globe?

Anyway! I got a lot of Kurogane no Linebarrel to catch up to. After that manga, it's Digimon V-Tamers. Probably the best adaptation of Japan's famous battle tomotgachi franchise.

Thus far, I have the impression that many of the episodes that adapt the first eight volumes of Fruits Basket are being structured similarly to the 2001 anime in terms of how events are adapted, minus the more over-the-top humor that Akitaro Daichi applied to the series when he directed it nearly 20 years ago. The changes are a bit hit-or-miss in terms of execution as some of them flow naturally with the show's events, while others either could have been done better or just simply exist to pad out run time. But so far, it's one of the better older series remakes that I've watched through.

As for what I missed, yeah I'm likely not going to spot every slight difference between the anime and manga. But depending on what the anime changes up, it usually takes a while for me to compile differences between the source material that I can notice. Last week's episode took me almost three hours to write up due to the many small and major changes I came across with the episode's adapting of chapters 10 and 12.
