I think we all know the real question:

Is Juiz still there? They're driving around, are they still active? Does that mean they're lonely? She can call me...

At the end, "This is the story of the eleven days i spent with takizawa"

what does that refer to?

Indeed it was a lacklustre ending for such an amazing anime.
It was also extremely hard to follow the plot due to the time gaps between each movie/tv series.
I dont even remember any of the other 'game members' either, so I don't know the significance of their presences.

So in the end, Mr.Outside restarted the game? Shrugs, whatever. 7/10

Well this movie was kind of slow, like the other one, but there were some shocking truths such as the identity of Mr outside finally revealed as Saizo Ato. The guy in the taxi cab. But im still in question bout alot of whats going on. The plot involvement just seems to me like its broken up into to many pieces and the puzzle just isn't completed yet. I believe there is more to this story.

What i didnt like was the epilogue, that killed the whole tension thing bout MR outside. I mean was that dorky guy that takizawa ran into at the end really Mr outside. I highly doubt it. He probably mistook that old guy for Mr outside. but hell i dont know. It just seemed like MR outside, as soon as he took off at the end of the movie, it seemed like he had more goals in mind or motives up his sleeve. especially when he ended the game and erased everyone's memories again. takizawa's memories did not get erased remains a mystery.

Mr Outside is deffinitly a mysterious character and i believe the whole involvement bout takizawa's true heritage isn't even revealed yet. So im sure there is going to be more to this story. I don't believe this is the end. If it is, that would be a total rip off for an ending.

wait wait, so Takkun actually didn't erase his memories second time, yeah? I mean, his clear remembering all Eden pack and stuff. And he mentioned that he didn't want to be as he was in front at white house again. So the brainwashing program was for that time if he becomes a king? At least I understood so, or I'm missing something? The movie didin't explain this o_o Saki was deceived, ah poor girl, haha.

Girls, don't run after random naked handsome guy found in the street!... I mean it, lol.

I actually started and finished Eden of the East--anime within the last couple weeks and the two movies in under a day---at first I was looking up if anyone knew how the incident of No.11's escape out fo her room acting like an angel---how was that an illusion? That's all I found. I was like,"Is there a supernatural element to this? Is she what I think she is?" Anyone mind clarifying?

Secondly, I found this ONLY on Wiki:

"Also something that was not shown in the second film was the sex scene between Takizawa and Saki."

....so I'm wondering if it's true and why it wasn't? That would surely fulfill the TV-MA aspect.

One Word, Didn't like it...I wished at least something exciting would happen...The Problem is, #9 could of done it a better way, even in a politicial reason!!! Sadly, Ending that don't end and our way away of a true story tick me off. I wished this would of been composed a little more better, I liked the TV series, but the movies failed it for me. This does not make my top anime...

Hmm...I am noit sure what I thought of the ending...
I agree that Saki is screwed over in the end. I liked how all the Selacai got their memories erased in the end though but as for everything else that happened I got a bit confused here and there. Lol at all those juiz girls though. They were entertaining. Meh, I am still pleased with this entire series overall. :)

Fairly sure this was a work of an unsuspecting Wikipedia troll.
I once Googled Coriolis effect and the Wikipedia description summary had something akin to motion of [x name] (I think it as Jim) when he was [blowing] [x]. Meh, something along the lines. It definitely had to do with blowing.

I was a bit disappointed by the lack of romance, and the unfulfilled conclusion, but the scene after the credits helped a lot. I think it might also, hopefully, be a precursor to a third movie!

At first I was a bit disappointed because I wished for more development on the relationship between Akira and Saki, but I think it explained very well all the questions I was left with after watching the series and the first movie. And sometimes movies that leave you longing for more can be better than those who satisfies you. (Or maybe I'm just telling myself this because I am sad that he left her alone again. I don't know)

Thanks for this, tsubasalover, it really helps me. I'm honestly not satisfied and pleased to see and hear the ending of this movie. I'm a bit dissapointed. Like the others said in the forum, this movie may be dissapointing, but not enough to be called as shit. :/ IMO okay.

I like the story, but I don't like the ending. That's all.

I made the mistake of watching this just before bed.

Now I feel really unsatisfied, yet I can't say that the movie was bad, or even the story was bad... it gave a lot of info but I wish things had turned out differently, and I think they abused the "memory loss" idea because #9 remembers and forgets things as it suits the plot. They shoulda found anotother way to deail with that than re-using that same plot device.

Anyhow, I will dream and make up my own story for dream-story instead of accepting what I just saw.

LOLWut? Wasn't that supposed to be a movie? Well, I think it had quite less elements a movie has and probably had more elements episodes have. Seemed to me like 4-5 episodes, with an abrupt ending (if you can call it an actual end). Well, I won't lower the score too much because EotE is an awesome material that must be watched but still, I was expecting a lot more from this movie. Actually, I disagree with people who dislike the first EotE movie because of it having a cliff-hanger type of ending. I think the ending of The King of Eden was perfect and actually made me watch Paradise Lost even more. If it hadn't been for that ending, I wouldn't have watched it just the next day I watched The King of Eden. I, for one, didn't like this movie's end though. It was uncalled for, to say at least. The movie, which was supposed to fill the plot holes the prequel series and movie left, actually made them even worse. Most of the Selecaos weren't even given screen-time, let alone time for specifying their characters.

Oh, and, remember the old guy whose taxi Saki and Micchon took in the last episode of the series, while they were telling the Eden members why Takizawa erased his memory the first time? Well, the man was Mr. Outside himself! Wow, to think he was listening to all that even at that moment. Well, I had my suspicions but didn't take them that seriously, but hey, I was right. For those people who were expecting Mr. Outside to be a total-rich nutcase, well you were wrong~ He was quite decent, and really old. Anyways, the movie had the same animation, artwork, sound, etc. but did lack enjoyment. The CG effects were good. All in all, I think the end was uncalled for, even if it was sort of the right judgement. 7/10, from my side. Could've been better.

The kiss was brilliant, by the way.

Major disappointment after watching which is supposedly the conclusion of the this whole Eden of East adventure.

It was so fun in the beginning of the original TV episodes, Takizawa was goofy yet cool to watch running around and the mystery surrounding him along with the whole game was interesting. Then 1st Movie dropped and was pretty hohum in pacing but did set the stage for what could been a fantastic conclusion with the 2nd Movie but the pace of the movie was even slower than the first and the ultimate final confrontation was lackluster.

Mr. Outside just basically said "welp, guess I'll end the game now" and Takizawa just ran off into the distance never to be heard from again. Monobore's "death" seem so forced and lame. Takizawa's mother left just as mysterious as Takizawa himself.

Just a lot of potential gone to waste in the end.

It did leave me a bit unsatisfied as well, but even so I hope they release another movie or something to end it perfectly. Maybe they'll have something that will focus on Saki and Takizawa's relationship or something? I think it was missing romance, and there was A LOT more running around and really blowing things up and death in the series and which is what the movies were missing. That's what I think anyway.

This movie was much better than the first one, it had developments. Yet, the ending was so lackluster, felt like there was so much more that could have happened. Really hoping for a second season or a third movie, but I don't think that's possible. Overall, really enjoyed the series. The movies were enjoyable too, just not as good as the series.

After sitting on my shelf for months and months I finally got to this damn movie and wow it was a really bad idea to watch this movie at 2 AM almost a year after having seen (king of eden) and I mean really bad. There was just so many things I couldn't remember about the previous movie and series and the fact that I was pretty tired (heh I thought I was wide awake when I popped the movie in) just left me confused from time to time. But the movie was not horrible, it answered many questions that were left unanswered in the last movie, but it lacked suspense. I mean was there any suspense in this movie at all? I think I need to re-watch this movie when I'm not so tired to give it a more fair rating, but as it stands right now I'll give it a 7 (ehh how about 7.4).

Better then the first one, and probably on par with the series. At least we get some answers this time. I found myself kind of bored for the first half, but the second half made up for it when they started wrapping of the mystery. The most interesting scenes in my opinion were the ones with Mr. Outside. He's not really what I expected, I thought he was dead to be honest. The ending was satisfying enough, no really big twists or anything. They did leave it open slightly for a possible sequel.

The ending was just way to open, there was no closure...

Would of rather had 24/26 episodes (22 maybe due to 11 episode seasons). seems like it would of been more time to explain some things, maybe even a better ending.

Even so, i knew he wouldnt become "King". lol no such thing as kings in todays age

Having watched the series in one go, I can say the movie took the easy way out by not having a clear ending. Although I may not like how the "wrapped things up" I think they accomplished their goal of getting their message out.
Like number 10 said, (not exact quote) you can work your butt of for hours on end only to just barely make ends meet, and having a higher education can only go so far. Not all of us can be CEO's and Presidents. A dollar (Yen, Euro or whichever) doesn't go as far as it used to or frankly should go. My Grandmother worked with a grade 3 education and she lived quite comfortly. But heck, you can't even get a decent job without a high school diploma! Our elders pushed and pushed on us that we have to study our butts off then work our butts off to get anywhere in this world, but guess what they didn't have to work that hard to get where they are! Instead of the value of a hard days earning it's all about spending lots of money on yourself. Money is the most important thing in today's society but it really shouldn't be. The rich who are living of their ancestors success and hard work don't understand what hard work is and don't understand why poor people are poor, like it's their fault their poor. Instead of living in a world where the rich (old people) rule, it should about the new generation and how they can change the world.
Anyway there are a few things I'd change.
1. Saki should have gone with Akira.
2. We should have learnt his real name from his mother.
3. We should have leant more about his past, like who his father was, if he was a nobody or someone important.
4. Alll 11 should have had a bigger impact or at least a little about what they did with their money. Even what they said they would do with 10 billion Yen.
5. Instead of 11 episodes and 2 movies they should have done three season containing 11 episodes structured like the first season. That way we could have more background info on all 12 and have more Saki/Akira time.
6. More explosions and "Bang!"s

Overall I'd still give it a 9/10. They said what they wanted to say, they left it up to you to decide if the story goes on, they're realistic in saying that all of us have to work together to make a big change, one person can't change the world if he doesn't have followers supporting him along the way. It was Akira's story and they stuck with it to the end, if one of 12 didn't have direct contact with him they didn't have big parts. I can't critize them for giving us what they said they would.
I enjoyed it I'm glad I watched it to the end.

i agree, would love if this was a 2-3 season with 11 episode and at least one final movie.

i really enjoy the movie, the music and the animation is freaking superb as always from Production IG.

things i didn't like in the movie.

we didn't have Kuroha(number 11) scenes.

if Linuma did indeed had a illegitimate son, wouldn't the police or government or anyone had known it prior to many months?? also they only recently discovered it when someone spread rumors then all of a sudden they had indeed figured out he had a son.

so did no.1 and no.10 died?? i know Yuuki manage to fire some shots at Monobe at the window and Monobe ran over him. so are they really both dead???

in the end results of the DNA Takizawa is indeed NOT the son of Linuma. it was also confirm by saki in the end dialogue. so which is which??

i was hoping Takizawa and his mother would come face to face and talk on what really happened.

why the hell did Takizawa ran away again : i mean Saki is already there for you so why risk it again?? i know you want to punch Mr. Outside sooo badly but come on it's Saki my goodness.

things i liked

Multiple Jiuz!!!!! it's really awesome to see that Juiz is actually an AI and the girls are there for support.

i freaking knew it Mr. Outside is the driver from the TV series. if him hearing Takizawa's situation why the hell did he stay silent after all this time??

i also like Haruo manage to build a tunnel for him and Underpants to escape.

the oldways can be useful in today's world :P

i also love on how Saki really pushed herself confronting Aya about Takizawa. what confuses me is that if she really meant that Takizawa is not her son. then why did she act like he was her mother?? also im curious to see why She felt disappointed on how Takizawa responded to her giving 500 yen(he basically spend it all towards other people rather than himself) which disappointed her since she thinks everything revolves about money

the reason why Saizo Ato chose Akira. i mean i was definitely moved on how Takizawa explan that it's better to be the one who spends rather than the one who receives. if everyone is a buyer who will be the seller??

that's why Takizawa still work as a newspaper boy, i also like how he said to Saito that the reason why he gave the paper for free is because those who were interested in the first place would read the paper rather than the buyers who just just buys them and doesn't read them.

it seems the Shiba is going with Aya far away.

the best part of the movie was of course The Kiss!!!!!! it was natural and not force just like what Takizawa did last time when Saki got rejected from the job offer.

and wow Long Hair Saki is freaking gorgeous!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

and wow after the credits Takizawa finally get's to slap Saizo!!!!! i wonder why it took 6 months to find her. and since he already finds him what's their next plan?? what about Saki?? you Promise her right Takizawa!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i probably miss a few more scenes but this is what i remember the most.

overall i really love the movie, aside from rushed out sequences i think the movie is awesome. the animation is almost on par with Ghost in the Shell Stand Alone Complex(though Solid State Society has still THE BEST animation in any anime)

would love a Season 2 Kamiyama-san!!!!!!!

will watch the visual commentary by Kamiyama sometime this week

a 9/10 just because it was an emotional and and freaking awesome turn of events :)

This series was kinda horrible, just because it started out interesting, and mildly entertaining throughout, but the plot slowly unravelled leading to such disappointment. If only it had started badly.
Even so, I would've forgiven it's lackluster plot progression if only there had been actual character development. "Hurp he was devastated so he went and erased his memory again." Absolutely hilarious. It's like the end of a romcom, confessing over phone and them marrying.

For some reason, Taki reminds me of Goku. His goofy and aloof personality are almost identitcal. Hey his first name is Akira after all who shares the same name as the creator of DBZ Akira Toriyama. Just my thoughts :)

Oh yea and Taki tends to disappear a lot just like how Goku always disappears xD

I'm unsatisfied with the ending as well but the movie wasn't too bad. I enjoyed some parts of it and some were meh. 7/10 I would love a third movie or OVA sequel to wrap up the open endings.

I actually really love this series as a whole. First movie and anime series were really great but the second movie was weak compared to the two. Overall as a series, 9/10. Very strong start, alright ending.

Positive things:
- I liked the political aspect of this movie. Quite different from the series and first movie actually. It was pretty interesting to see this concept.
- I enjoyed the part where the Eden of the East group was hiding from the cops. I found out that I enjoy those parts the most, over Akira's parts.
- We dig deeper into Akira's past.

Negative:
- Too much dialogue, especially Mononube's conversation with Akira.
- Very anticlimatic ending :/
- Why do they keep on using the "character runs away" plot device. It already happened in the series. Why not just let him stay once and for all, instead of an open ending?
- I wanted more depth on the Selacao. I still don't know much about Granny, movie maker, and others.
- Weak start (of the movie). I'd prefer some action scene or something XD

He was threatening to abduct more citizens while giving everyone the chance to stop him. I'm not too sure, but I think he was saying that to stop him the older generation that ran the country would have to give up their positions of power and values and give the younger generation a chance to fix the country. The 1 yen was just a way to show everyone that he was true to his word, or something like that. Eden of the East was just Hirazawa's company, but since Akira popularized the programs the company made people suspected it of supporting terrorists.

I'm not sure how accurate what I'm saying is. It might have been intentional, but I don't think the series as a whole did a very good job of explaining things and left a lot plots undeveloped.

Well, let's see, I feel unsatisfied, the movie is still lacking, I enjoyed it yet I don't think it's enough, also personally, I want more of Saki & Akira, and the development of other people. I don't like the fact that Akira always wander off somewhere at the end.

Right now, I want to see more of this series, yet I don't. Either way, there's not gonna be a sequel coming from the producer.

i think they should have used those two movies as actual episodes. these movies are important because they explain a lot and they actually have an ending. it's not like some bonus story, so i don't understand why they didn't made a few more episodes instead of releasing two whole movies. and i think a lot of people haven't seen the movies and because of that the anime gained a badder rating because it just seems uncompleted.

"and that was the last time we saw takizawa." what? are you kidding me? i want to have my happy ending! actually i like shows that don't have a cheesy or normal ending, but i want to see akira and saki together! i want to have more of their relationship.

I agree with everything you said :) Yes the ending seemed like it was lacking something, but honestly, I believe they did a great job with the whole story. I can't think of any other way to end this. They left it with positive events that happened after Akira's threat and said that nothing else had changed much, but things are still slowly changing. Realistically speaking, the whole political/social problem Higashi no Eden presented is a complex problem, it's not something that can be solved easily, and that's why Kamiyama Kenji decided to not have a real closure. I think that if there was some kind of conclusion, people would probably denounce it saying that it's either unrealistic, or just plain stupid. People complain that it's unsatisfying because the lack of an ending, but I don't think anyone could really write out a real solution to all of this.

The anime/movies showed many of Japan's problems and it gave me a lot to think about. Like what Mononobe said. He said talked about how he was working in the political arena trying to help Japan, yet he realized how it just can't be done, at least not without becoming somewhat corrupt. (btw, sucks that he and Ryou died like that o_O maybe they didn't die, but still.)

Ato Saizo is indeed an interesting guy. I didn't expect him to be so old XD or that he is a taxi driver. This kind of reminds me of Sherlock and the cabbie. I laughed out loud when Akira hit Ato Saizo with the slipper, and then Ato Saizo grins, such a cute grandpa. I also loved the kiss scene <3 It was too perfect! One of the best kiss scenes ever, without all the blushing (not that I dislike people blushing) it was a refreshing scene. I kind of came into Higashi no Eden thinking it would have romance because in the preview, all you see is mostly Akira and Saki together. But I'm not disappointed or anything at the lack of romance, because honestly, it would've been a little distracting to the bigger problem at hand :/ Still, I would've liked to known that they get to meet each other again. I can't believe all of this took place in only 11 days!

I'm going to miss Akira so much! He was such a charsimatic/charming character!

The buildup in the series was good, and I felt the first movie was all about building up and therefore slightly lacklustre, so I am frustrated that there isn't much of a climax at all in this movie. Not to mention, there appears to be some plot holes and we never get to know some of the Selecao, such as #3, #7 and #8

I will give this movie a strong 6

Better than the first film, but still felt like something was missing. I would've preferred a second season as well rather than the movie route.

so in the end its was never really solved and he never got with the girl and if he was ever caught he wld probs be executed and nothing much really changed poor ending there has to be more to it than that really really needs another film that just was not an ending at all
