| damn cliffhangers. another great episode. amane mom is vibe. hopefully we see more of her in upcoming episodes. curious how the friends gonna react next episode. pretty sure it wouldnt be that big of a deal and its better this way that they know it so Mahiru can hang around with them without being lonely |

| Gosh was the first part of the episode UNBEARABLE - talking about the mom! Hate this "obsessive parents" trope in anime. Creepy smug mothers who tag the first stranger that happens to know their daughter/son as boyfriend/girlfriend, or fathers who go apeshit after a daughter has a male person nearby (potential boyfriend). It's been done so many times it's honestly annoying. The show doesn't deserve to get hate for it, but still annoying as hell. My main problem with this show, however, is the fact it's extremely boring! Female lead being adorable wifu-material isn't doing it for me at all. Chemistry isn't intriguing and the fact these two are basically "playing house" for some reason is the major asspull of the show. When it comes to characters, the only thing I want to know is the BS reason Mahiru's parents don't love her and basically kicked her "out in the wild" to be independent and devote her life striving to be #1. I have no idea why they did it, but I suspect it'll be some major BS. Dunno what else to say... I gave this show the "3 episode rule" and didn't get hooked. Quite the opposite (Shikimori PTSD). Definitely one of the shows I'm not enthusiastic to return to and spend my time on every week. I'll either binge-watch this at the end of the season or drop it once the new season starts and I realize I couldn't care less about it after all. |

| Yes, it is predictable. But if you are watching The Angel Next Door... this is exactly what you want! Such a sweet love story. I suppose it is unrealistic to expect it to be the light novel verbatim. But the animators have really captured the spirit of this story and remained faithful to Mahiru and Amane's story. I can't wait until next week! |

| a random visit by his mother, good thing Marhiru cleaned the apartment she could see easily what was happening tho, she knows her son wouldn't have such a clean place and such an healthy diet by himself that being said, i thought Mahiru had found a way to leave, maybe by the window, they are kinda connected (but that might be too dangerous) Shiina already calling her by mother, let's go :v holy damn, that woman is pushy lol, that's a good way to either force them together or scare her away, without letting them decide by themselves well one thing for sure, Mahiru let him know she wants to be called by her name, so they both do, it's a nice step forward :D she let herself show her problems with her parents, i wonder when we will get more on that lols he gave her a key, not because he wants her to come anytime, but because it's too much trouble to go open the door, i get him haha at least they know he trusts her but "don't blame me if i clean your room or stuff your fridge with food" is a good threat hahahaha she even asks him if he is teasing her, tbh, she was the one teasing him with what she said Mahiru got first place again, her hard work deserves a cake, how nice of Amane ofc she liked the taste, and felt it was right to give a bite to Amane (indirect kiss? lols) did he get so embarrassed that he wanted to do the same to her? :v Amane trying to make some food, but it had no taste (onimai anyone?), so Mahiru still has to teach him properly lol she was worried that he would not need her food if he learned, but i'm sure he wouldn't want to have the work of cooking everytime anyway, and he wants her to come over Chitose back to trying to learn about Shiina, will they discover her soon? he ended up admiting about having meals with the neighbor, it's getting there lmao HAHAHA Chitose acting like she's the queen now and gets bullied for it when boyfriend does it to her, she is super duper cute instead :D noticing Mahiru is lonely, he offers to spend Christmas day with her... playing videogames, sounds like fun, better than being home alone anyway for a moment i thought he would ask if she wanted to join with the other couple, but i know she doesn't want people from school to know they are together oh pizza, i want some too haha acting all lovely in someone's house, people will get jealous ah yes, Amane is sooooooo indifferent to the school angel lols oh no, that was way faster than expected lmfao talk about timing for both to go outside (i mean it just started snowing i guess), but maybe Mahiru should have been more careful, she knew about the guests now i'm curious about what happens next, hopefully they don't tell anyone at school lol |

| I hoped she spends christmas with them and it seems there is a chance now. As cute and relaxing as this anime is, I can't shake off the feeling that something heavy is hanging around... Hopefully I'm wrong and there will be no drama. |
| they are so cuteeee. amane mom also kinda... the cat angel is out of the bag now. hope amane can cover it up but not looking likely. only thing that is killing me about this anime is the plain and 50/100 animation, man does it suck. |
| Since last two episodes I have gone to read the LN and now my enjoyament comes from another perspective, I was soo hyped to see a new episode animated after getting way more context now, and Mahiru voice was different from what I remenbered, but it suits her really well, now I realize they picked up Tohru from FB, I m definitly hyped, she will do a great job since Mahiru has a really gentle side to her, but Mrs Tohru will have to put some more spice for later voice lines. xD Enjoyable episode, almost impossible for it not to, considering I enjoyed the first 2 that much to go read the souce material, that said, the art of the LN is really on its own world, I would have liked a bit more to see Mahiru's iris design on the anime, at least for some parts, but doubt we will get it. Akame's mom is totally differnet from the way I imagined her, lol, looks really young and just like an older sister to him, his dad should look more like Akame so doubt will be a surprise. Also the pacing of this episode caught up tremendously around the mid part, was not expecting to see Xmas stuff already, thankgod they at least let a good chunk of vol1 ending for the next episode. Ending this one with a cliffhanger makes sense, but I would have prefered to see the end of volume 1 at episode 4. | @crispycereal We will get a better idea when they adapt the end of Volume 2. If we get the end of Volume 2 in ep 8, we're probably safe. If they show at ep 6 and the incident fall flat, then we're in for a trainwreck. |

There is advantage in taking things a bit slower, means there is more material to adapt before they run out of source material. Pacing too slow for some can make an anime boring, but when the LN is made of the small moments between the MCs, and when there are so many in each volume, it SHOULD BE adapted with a slower pacing, Oregairu's was attrocious and I m enjoying S3 way more due to the slower pace since they had less shit to adapt. |

| I understand why some people see this as a wholesome anime, but I just can't agree with that 100%. For starters, the dialogues don't sound natural... oh wait, nothing is natural. This anime is basically a checklist of wholesomeness: -Sloppy main character: CHECK -A girl who is put on a pedestal by everyone actually has a hidden side only the MC knows: CHECK -Cool looking friend: CHECK -A girlfriend of said cool looking friend: CHECK -A mother who doesn't question anything after finding out something highly unusual: CHECK -Doing things that normally people who aren't in a romantic relationship do: CHECK |

| What a cute episode!! I love everything about this anime so far. I love all of the character's gentle features. Mahiru is such a cutie. They should just make it official at this point. Amane pretty much admitted that he likes her. Does Mahiru have narcolepsy because only us narcoleptics have the capability of falling asleep so fast lol |
