300 million yen isn't a small loss. But yeah, she is rich. But she doesn't want to pay this debt. She wants to gamble over it.

I'm not rich and insane, therefore i have not experienced in first hand the thrill that they spoke of in the episode, but i play many games that encompass gambling (i.e Cardfight Vanguard), and i love it, the thrill of knowing that the top card of your deck can change "everything", makes me shiver in excitement.

Anime is getting better and better, and Yumeko best girl this season for sure. And, if i had any doubts about diving into the manga, i do not have anymore.

if a 3rd party is hosting a gamble then there will be no rigging the game

so far all of the gambles were against opponents that were hosts as well, ofc that if you make a game that you would want to rig it as much as possible

I like how Yumeko is actually a good loser, she took the "punishment" like a champ. I wouldn't put past her going to school with a tail and nekomimi just to show people how stupid it all is. She is awesome.
I really can't wait to see her beating up this council members as I heard some of them are totally nasty. Well, let's see.

This is so intense. Jabami is a real monster. Of course she had to lose this time. It will be boring if she always wins. She is handling it pretty well. She scared the hell out of those girls.

Was expecting the council president to bail Yumeko out. What's ironic about the events of the episode is that the council probably ended up respecting Yumeko more despite her loss.

Ultimately, the plot followed the same formula as the previous episodes - this series would have been labelled as utter rubbish if not for the twist-ending.

It's fine to drop it, but I really don't see how this is a poor man's Kaiji (or similar to Kaiji at all besides them both being about gambling and they both have a lot of cheaters), nor would I see why anyone would force themselves to keep watching if they didn't like it before. I wouldn't make myself suffer through something I didn't like so much any further. Kind of curious to what made you kept going. o.o

groovykirito said:

lol They probably will (I highly doubt it, though), but cheating is quite common in gambling and a common focused aspect in various gambling series anyway, so I'm used to this sort of thing.

Kaiji has non-perfect protagonist, non-scrubs side characters, high stake gamble, interesting games, creative cheating, TENSION AND MANLY TEARS. this anime doesn't have any of it.

I can't really say anything regarding you saying non-scrub side characters, high stake gambles, interesting games (true that these games are more simplistic, but they can still be interesting and enjoyable), tension, and creative cheating since that's all subjective and all (you don't find piercing you hands with earrings while controlling one of the swords inside of the cup with a magnet on it from the outside creative? I do)...

But non-perfect protagonist? If you mean one who isn't so successful and great at gambles, then yeah, that is true that Kaiji doesn't (though One Out's main character is a mastermind at it).

Manly tears... maybe Suzui or that other guy in the council will cry later on for some reason.

I want to see how this will play out for her since she is one of the "losers" now.

Gotta love Yumeko.

I'm not surprised that there's a lot of cheating. Lots of that and rigging in gambling in general, anyway.

I swear that this show is so much fun to watch. Was pretty surprised to see Yumeko lose and become a house pet now. Not as OP as people love to complain her as being it seems, else she would have known about that sort of method beforehand and wouldn't have lost.

I agree, but I guess since the "theme" is kinda set, episodes being somewhat repetitive is kinda invevitable. Nontheless, this is a helluva entertaining show, love all the insanity of it. :) I hope it keeps up the good work, gonna be tuning in for the new episodes for sure.

Tbf, it's only 12 episodes. Though there will likely be a game soon that lasts more than one episode (I'm basing this on the opening on how far this anime will go).

It doesn't need to be a Kaiji-length game. I mean, JoJo had a gambling arc that was just 2-episode long and it still managed to be intense and thrilling.

I think this anime is interesting, but it's still lacking. IDK if it gets better but thre's not much to it now. The other players doesn't even seem to have a chance against Jabami, we know what'll happen since the beginning, that there'll be a cheating unmasked at the end. Only three episodes and there's already an apparent formula! About cheating, I don't think it's avoidable, because otherwise gambling would be pure luck-based, which is boring. I just hope the supposedly latter smarter enemies are better at gaming and can imagine Jabami knows their cheat and can then pose a threat to her.

I'm head over heels in love with this series
This episode boosted my love for this series, even more, by showing that our main character is batshit CRAZY. For no real discernable reason she decided to take this EXTREM gamble which could have cost her over 2 billion yen if she landed on death but luckily she didn't but unfortunately she actually she lost about 310 million yen. The fact that she lost made me love this series even more. I like OP protagonist, like theirs nothing wrong with them but in this high stakes gambling anime, I would be absolutely pissed if our protagonist wins all the time. I want to see her loose, I want to see her fail, I want to see her rise from the ashes so that she can defy all expectations and if she continues winning none of that would have happened. With our protagonist now a pet we can truly understand what being a pet means in this school and have more high-risk games for our protagonist to defy all of our expectations and be even more bat shit crazy. I've fallen so hard for this anime I've started the manga and I never do that. The anime can't really capture the exaggerated facial expressions of the manga but makes up for it with it intimidating color pallet and intense mood. I eagerly wait for episode 4.
