That old guy himself is a badass not caring for anything than his reputation. And Mina would have taken the way messing his reputation up if there would have been a way. But it seems there is none. So does he care for anything else? Yeah this child. And who says that they won't treat the kid nicely? Giving him food, snacks, toys, playing with him. If it's like that, the kid won't get what is happening but will ask sometime: can i go home now? This will probably be after the whole mess with this old guy is over and he'll be returned, happy end? |

All the intelligence in the world couldn't give Mina what she wanted. This guy is only interested in getting re-elected and nothing more. He doesn't care if the entire Japanese economy will crash and burn, he doesn't care what impact Mina pulling out her businesses will do to his country. All he cares about is being recognized as the hero who defends his fearful countrymen from the 'evil' vampires and get a second term. What happens after that is not of his primary concern right now. The other politicians didn't need much persuasion to acknowledge the Bund, Mina merely had to show them the bare facts (vampire businesses retreating = economic death for Japan). This guy is making it hard for her and because of his persistence and stubbornness, Mina had to do something to prove that she's a force to be reckoned with. And the best way to get to a guy like that is to exploit his weakest point or biggest fear: losing his (probably only) grandson. Harsh? Yes. But like Mina said, if she shows herself to be a pushover, no one will take her authority seriously. And there are quite a few people who would be VERY willing to take her place. She HAS to show she means business by acting as ruthless as possible, else all her well-made plans will turn out to be for nothing. |

| ^Actually, he isn't out to get re-elected, from what I know, since it's his last period as Prime minister. Though what he wants is to make his name go down in history, and that's why he doesn't care what happens afterwards, as long as his name is glorified. He's probably also pretty concerned with making a name for his grandson (a.k.a. the lil' kid, for those who don't know) to carry when he grows up, so that the guy's name will once again lead the country and he will be forever remembered as the hero who saved Japan from the vampires... Yes, an unimaginably selfish guy, this Prime minister.. Wonder how he came to power? Anyway, as stated before quite some times, and once again by AO968, the grandson is probably the only way to get to him, since he doesn't care for anything else except his own fame. And the only thing that matters in this post is the first 2 sentences, the rest is just... Yeah something ^^; |

First episode I can really say I liked. Mina is being fleshed out to be more of a complete and contrasted character. Favorite part of this episode was most definitely Mina facing down Yuki. She made things perfectly clear who he belonged to. >:-) |

| Ok yes, I agree with Oosran for once and he opened my mind into acceptance that the prime minister would be convinced other than kidnapping his grandson and making him change his mind. I also agree with all about his mentality and in the end it's selfish no matter how you look at it. I pity his pride. |

| I really don't like Mina she's too evil and two faced. It started with her ordering the attack on the class president just because she was afraid of her and rightfully so. Now she is probably going to order an attack on the girl who likes Akira. |

It's quite clear that kidnapping a child, human or vampire one is not a right thing to do. What we are saying is that some times shit like this happens due to circumstances, priorities and what is a person willing to do for a certain goal along with the personality involved. Now if by kidnapping a vampire child someone could achieve something very important for a bigger cause then we will understand the act. Nether we approve or considered it the right thing to do but we understand the act. Mina certainly isn't playing the role of a self righteous knight. She said it herself that she can act like a monster. She can be good and bad according to her own goals. Ether you like it or you don't. But if we only wanted our characters in anime to be the perfect angelic people then anime will get really boring not to mention unrealistic. |

| Wow this is getting very interesting. First of all the Princess is using her vampire authority to make the government agree to her. Second there are vampires in their own school. Is this vampire group part of Tepes's men or other else? The third thing is Yuki x Akira x Mina = Love Triangle, lol. So I'm assuming that Tepes ordered her men to kill the grandchild since the Prime Minister wouldn't accept her proposal but wouldn't that cause a war or something between them and the government? Also, who was that hot girl that came into Akira's dream? It was like a grown up version of Mina. I gotta admit that the grown up version of Mina is way hotter. |

| I must say that I don't like Shinbo's direction in this series. The neck tilts, the imagery and backgrounds, it's not a good fit for this manga. I might be wrong, but I think the adaption would have benefited from a more neutral treatment. |
