Episode very quiet, in fact I have not well understood at what point the plot, narrative was not very exciting and we were missing that I fall asleep, but it was not boring though. The character of Sakurako is not bad, and I do not like the guy again, just to be near him charismatic. One thing that is not discussed in this anime is the quality of the sets, which are always beautiful and well made; as well as quality designs are appreciated. In short, the series should still like it, but it's not bad.

Alright episode. Not liking the whole episodic nature of this series so far to be honest. And, please lets stop the whole “let’s solve the mystery” thing (I doubt they will though). It just feels awkward and silly.

This was somehow different from the previous episodes in mood and atmosphere. It felt reflective and cathartic. The change was really refreshing. Probably the weakest episode, yeah, but I still liked it a lot.

I get the feeling this show isn't supposed to be about the mystery, it's supposed to be about the emotions of the people involved.

I don't like episodic shows, and would prefer if the mysteries were actually complicated. Having said that, this episode was beautiful. I miss my grandma and my grandpa too, very very much.

I thought it was a pretty good episode. It was nice to have a more light hearted episode to contrast with last weeks and having Kougami get more involved was a nice change from the usual dynamic even if the episodes pacing may have been a little slow. I do think the show is starting to get a bit repetitive however it's still the third episode and the mysteries in each episode have been good so I'm willing be more lenient with it for now. Hopefully the overarching plot will start to pick up by next week.

It's called suspension of disbelief. Mysteries do often have coincidences, yes, but it's more a matter of whether they are believable or convincing enough to suspend one's disbelief. I don't know about you, but when it turned out that the body they found was the girl's grandma - the same girl who they conveniently ran into in the park last episode, who conveniently also knew the identity of the child with them - I rolled my eyes a little.

Not to say that the end result of these episodes wasn't good, but the progression of events seems somewhat forced. Just because this is often indicative of episodic mystery series doesn't mean it isn't annoying.

And how convenient is it that they find bones seemingly every time they go anywhere? Again, it's just laziness for the sake of convenience, and it's just bad writing as well. At least make it seem like the bones don't just magically appear cos the plot needs them to. Speaking of convenience, how convenient is it that the corpse they found this time belonged to Shoutarou's other female friend of all people?

This show seems like it's going to be so much wasted potential unless it does something to change this formula and become more interesting in some way.

It's not bad writing unless this series was meant to be something different. This seems to be pretty much an episodic series set around cases of death. Yes, it doesn't matter where the bones come from, they are simply the ingredients for unfolding the case behind them.

You wouldn't exactly go and say: "Oh, how convenient of Conan Doyle to have Sherlock Holmes deal with a case in every single one of his short stories".

The nature of the series makes it a necessity for the protagonists to find bones and solve the mystery. This style of writing is very common and, depending on the uses, a very good one.

Unsurprisingly they stumbled upon yet another dead body.

Based on the OP and the flashbacks it seems Kougami have some kind of relationship with the black-haired teacher. Im thinking the teacher probably consoled Kougami while she was depressed about her grandmother and now they're probably a couple or on the way to being one. Its unlikely but maybe she's her brother? I also think maybe the teacher is Sakurako's missing brother because he also has a black hair and in anime when someone has a dead sibling, 80% of the time they're not. Well I sure hope Im wrong about the teacher-student relationship stuff because I've seen too many of this already especially in shoujo and everytime it makes me sick.

I'm more interested in the two main characters' relationship. I want the boy to develop an "older sister/nee-san" fetish for her, and her to do the same for him. Doesn't have to be an actual romance, in fact I'd prefer for them to bond as siblings only, but I want them to get closer.

So we're told that Soutarou was Sakurako's younger brother ... DEAD younger brother at that. Did she "adopt" Shoutarou? :P
Surprised that the bones she found was Shoutarou's classmate's grandma. Pretty touching scene with the end bit at the sunrise - pretty obvious it wasn't going to be a suicide like that police suspected. The scene with her putting on the gloves happened again ... really getting tired of that >_< Not that much happened this episode though, so wasn't really that interesting. Hope it gets better next episode :S

Like I thought, 'Soutarou' was Sakurako's dead little brother. I didn't think they would reveal it so soon but we are of course still in the dark as to how he died.

I enjoyed this episode. I really liked how Sakurako's scientific approach can be used to bring closure to others.
But yes, it was very predictable. The moment I saw Sakurako staring at that scenic picture I knew for a fact that the grandmother had died while looking at the place that served as a model for it and that it was no suicide. The delivery was flawless, though.

As for the police jumping to the conclusion that it was suicide, while it does seem like they did not investigate properly (I mean, the grandmother was wearing a backpack, not exactly the kind of thing you'd take with you if you are meaning to put an end to your life. Had they checked the contents they'd probably have even found food and drink), it is understandable that they would default to it. After all, this is Japan, a country with one of the highest suicide rates in the world (although South Korea has passed it).

I predict that we will have an all-encompassing plot, probably related to the evil-looking fellow that appears surrounded by butterflies on the OP. Who might also double as Sakurako's fiancé.

That lacked a wrap-up, lacked depth and while I still liked it I'm going to get bored of this soon if it doesn't have at least one arc or something that is longer than one episode.

This episode felt like it was just going through paces, in the shadow of the spectacular second episode. Still better than all the other shows this season though.

The coincidence crutch is really stretching the seams of the fourth wall by now.

Plus, assuming from the dialogue that started in episode two, these episodes aren't taking place day-after-day. Sakurako is still uncovering animal bones, and the kid (don't know his name) is attending school, living life. So I'd assume each episode is about the time's they found human bones, so the "convenience" of the show doesn't bother me at all, that's what it's about as you said lol. This was definitely a very weak episode compared to the first two, but I'm really enjoying the character interactions and I love mysteries being solved even if I don't have too much time to figure them out haha.

Tatewaki sure overestimates himself. He's still a boy, and he should just accept the fact... It's super annoying how he considers himself Sakurako's guardian.

This episode, while not particularly impressive, still felt good. The first half was okay, but the 2nd was quite well-done. I like how simple of a matter it was, yet it still conveyed feels.

I loved this episode except for:

1. The grandma died of suffocation? Is it because her neck got broken and her windpipe was obstructed? Clarify it a bit would you?

2. Cue moral about inspiring yourself. When the said grandma is dead. So edgy, but whatever. It was good seeing Sakurako interact with more people.

I'm more interested in the overarching storyline regarding the relationship between Sakurako-san and Shoutarou. Is Shoutarou and Soutarou the same person? Since the OP had Shoutarou seeing Sakurako from the picture and Sakurako seeing Soutarou?

I have a theory that either Shoutarou is adopted, or somehow related to Soutarou (a twin maybe lol?). I think it's called anime cliches.

The metabolism of human cells increases when they're exposed to sunlight - nice pun, Sakurako is fully aware of Soutarou's eye on her breast ;-) The heart - lung size pun was good too. Another great episode, I'm really into this anime.
