THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE.

I'm not used to that OP song yet but damn, dat OST.

Oh snap, the manager and trio of girls spotted. Eh, I guess I'll expect more action later on in this show. I'm still getting a bit if T&G vibes though. Hazama needs to relax lol.

Superhero on bike was kinda funny even though I admire his determination.

I'm wondering how much the show is going to escalate based on the OP and promo art if he's still dealing with these small time crimes right now

So that girl from Mineral Miracle has a fondness for old Sentai shows like Masayoshi eh?

Umbrellas are srs!!!

One of the idol girls- Mari seems to be a big Red Axe fan.
I'm interested in seeing how much she (and everyone) will be involved in all of this later on, since I doubt all the remaining 20 episodes will be focused on random "crimes" like these.

Hazama's manager is harsh lol.

Hmm, Mari recognized the lyrics of the theme song Hazama was singing. Guess she's a fan of the same superhero. I hope they get back to that later on.

Decent episode. Hopefully we'll get more action or story development now that Flamenco got some popularity.

That was so lol XD

Umbrella's are truly serious business hahaha.

Loved the OST during the chase scene, but damn no way I could take it seriously lol

Dat manager XD...I wouldn't want to get on her bad side XD

I didn't expect those 3 girls to be a group of idols. I'm wondering if one of them is Goto's girl friend?
And Mari might end up with Hazama? seeing how she likes Red Axe XD

Better than the first episode. It seems that the idol will at some point become involved with Hazama in some way and might even find out about Samurai Flamenco.

haha, the openings 10/10, The whole show in general has made this my favourite of the season as of this point, It's very funny, it doesn't take itself serious, the art is class A, the ed song is growing on me and Dat Umbrella, I get why others dont like it but it's definitely stood out to me, holy shit that ending left me laughing.

You can't help but feel that there is a pinch of thruth in what Hazama says which is partly acknowledged by the show by using the topics he addressed in his conversations with Goto as relevant components of the major conflict in this episode, even though his missions are still laregely played for comedic purposes.

Totally agree, I like seeing things from a different point of view, it's funny when Masayoshi is so serious about this issue, yet at the same time, I found myself thinking, wow, this is so true. But then again, I've honestly never had my umbrella stolen before, nor are there ever places where I could put my umbrella in when I go to restaurants or something.

And ooh, the three girls in the ED are actually idols? And one of them is also a superhero otaku like Masayoshi! Looking forward to seeing her, as well as the other two characters.

Yeah, I believe these scenes are intentionally ambivalent in nature as it point out actually quite trivial things like the way how people put out their trash and puts them into context with a good deal of thoughts. And concerning the umbrella peccadillo it seems like it's a minor offense specific for Japan with how cheap prizes for umbrellas are there.

The inclusions of idols makes sense since like Hazama's profession as a model it's not a traditional job and relies heavily on looks and outer appearances. Plus one among them seems to have a similar affinity to superheros.
Also, is it just me or did the idols' behaviour seem very staged? It looked like each of the three were assigned a specific persona to play (the meek one, the genki girl). Perhaps a side blow at the idol industry with its manufactured and idealized females?

I liked how they tied together scenes. Like how it seemed trivial when he was bitching about the trash but then later it showed he had a point when he was cycling and the trash was in the way, although he shouldn't be riding around in a superhero costume in the first place.

I love how they took such a trivial thing to most people so seriously. Ahahaha.

I thought Hazama would reveal himself as SF... but looks like he hid it, like most superheroes do. Also, they finally revealed the idol group! Looks like Mari is interested in Hazama too.

I am guessing, maybe Mari (or the other two girls) might be the girlfriend of Goto. That would be really interesting. I can't wait.

same! i noticed that too, thought the message really hit home.

honestly i can't stop smiling while watching this show?! it's just too cute aah i'd like to see more goto though. it'd be interesting if his girlfriend is mari (though she's kinda young???) afterall goto seems really lax about hazama's superhero fanboy side so he's probably been exposed to it already?

and what is the plot of this show? the rest of the episodes can't just be hazama fighting petty evil right

Oh yeah, I forgot about the trash part too. It was funny to see how the trash that were put out of the street became an obstable to Masayoshi when he was chasing after the train (iirc he went through a neighborhood?). Basically even though they are trivial things, there's always a reason for putting out certain rules like taking out the trash in the morning.

Also, it's not just you, you can tell especially by the genki girl, I mean she's probably kind of like that already, but I doubt she's always that upbeat (though I could be wrong).

Really good episode, I like how it showed how simple stuff can affect people. This is why Goto understood what hazama was saying about the value the OWNER places on their property. The umbrella is just an umbrella for someone else, but it obviously meant more to Goto.

Still one of my favorite ones of this season.
Anyway, the girl seems interested in hereos like the MC, so I'm expecting a future relationship. And now I'm starting to get what they're trying to do with the story.

It seems a little low budget though, or perhaps they're preserving their budget for episodes with a lot of action in the future?

Yes, agreed. That's what I'm liking in this show so far. There is some truth in what Hazama says, even if it's for a comedy purpose.
That umbrella scene was simply hilarious, I love how Hazama is enthusiastic about everything he does for the justice.
Also, I genuinely laughed when Hazama was anwering at the talk-show.

He's 19 I'm guessing Mari is somewhere btw 16-19 so it would work.

The 3 girls from the ed :]

I wonder why Mira stopped him when he was saying "Red Axe"?

Looks like Samurai Flamenco is getting the spotlight.

I was laughing for the entire episode, and when i wasnt i was just smiling from how much of a fun time i was having watching this.

This show does a fantastic job at just making me feel like a giddy little kid whilst watching this. Also theres like no basis for this but calling it now theres going to be some romance between mari and hazama.

Also might i mention just how great the chemistry between goto and hazama

Judging from this episode, I can tell that idol is going to be involved in Hazama's superhero antics later on. But although what he is doing is pretty funny, it's pretty true at the same time. I can relate with that incident about the umbrella (I didn't my umbrella stolen), when you do a crime and don't consider the circumstances of the action, then it's a problem for other people. I'm pretty sure that they're trying to say that you should think about others before you do something. But I liked this episode more than the previous one and I wonder how extensive this plot is going to get considering that he's already becoming pretty famous.

Great episode. I've never thought that it will be this great. Full of "moral values" I guess ?

This might be my gag of the fall.
"Children of Japan. And those who were once children. Listen! This is not a dream. This is not fiction. In reality, your superheroes were always fighting. To teach viewers courage and the meaning of justice! No matter how many enemies there are. No matter how strong evil is. Just remember. Does any another country have so many heroes? Has any another country been protected by multiple superheroes? Stand with me, friends! Remember when you used to watch your superheroes!
Once you may have given up this dream. But today, you can be a hero!"
