Even though you haven't shown up in a while, whenever you're down for something atmospheric and eerie consider Boogiepop Phantom. I rewatched it recently since I didn't get 90% of what happened in the first quick and dirty watch. It requires plenty of attention to piece most of the stuff together but it has a really compelling dark and gripping atmosphere. I saw your profile picture on my friend list and I felt like I had to let you know.

Just here to agree with your opinion about the first chapter of Ping Pong The Animation! For me it was a cool and fresh experience. I specially loved how they introduced the name of the chapter when they were in the rooftoop. (In fact, that whole scene was great)

Have you seen the movie adaptation of the manga? If so, what's your opinion about it?

Another question. Do you have studies in arts or something related? I'm no jumping to conlusions. I just wanted to ask because you seem to grasp some basic concepts of animation, color and narrative that some people skip.

Hi, I was just wondering which manga is your forum signature from?

I honestly didn't even check to see what Studio did Brynhidlr. Now that youve told me it's ARMs I'm a little scared lol. Barrister is really the only anime from them I liked besides Genshiken 2 and Elfen Lied 10 years ago. Barrister was a pretty big letdown too. Such much promise in that show :\ Anyway, this is why I try NOT to read manga before seeing an anime lol. I've learned many years ago with Gunslinger Girl that it only makes the anime seem worse than they really are.

Wow. I honestly expected something more hostile when I got the email saying you commented here. Guess I'm use to trolls. I appreciate you taking the time to answer my question. I fully agree with everything you said about JoJo, One Week (loving everything about this so far, except that her affliction is very specific...oddly), and Mahouka.

Visually I had no issues with Black Bullet, I really liked their style for what the show was about. My main issue I had with episode 1 was that the main character seemed really stupid. He completely failed to mention to anyone about the Masked Man for example. I hope the writing for that kind of stuff gets better...

All I can say about Brynhildr is that it followed the manga pretty much 100%. I started reading it when it first came out because the author is the same one that did Elfen Lied, which was one of my first subtitled anime back in 04. It gets pretty dark but not quite to the levels of Elfen Lied. I really hope MAL's listing of 13 episodes is incorrect because based on episode 1, that would land it smack in the middle of an Arc unless they add 2 or 3 episodes of fillers. No one wants fillers in a 13 episode show. They did cut out the very first page of the manga, which I personally found to be a rather important one. I do agree the visuals were subpar on Bynhildr....that greatly displeased me since I love the manga so much.

I honestly hope some of these shows start sucking bad....I generally watch 30-40 shows a season and it's getting overwhelming after all these years...I need a break but I love anime too much XD

I confess I've had a lot of trouble keeping up with my anime queue lately. I was supposed to finish mushishi during holidays but work has been piling up and my mood has been way shakier due to the hectic schedule.(can't really calm down and enjoy mushishi when you're all over the place juggling tons of assignments/projects!).
However, on the bright side, on a bout of nostalgia I rewatched the whole SEL series.
The atmosphere always gets me.( and those electric pylon/wire scenes are iconic, that's why I felt kind of compelled to leave a comment for your picture :D)
By the way, I notice that you haven't watched Ghost Hound. I can safely recommend it if you're into the whole weird atmosphere and mysticism of Lain . Oh and if you decide to pick it up, make sure you watch it during nighttime in order to get the best out of it :)
