Fine is a sweet girl.

Got to see what her relationship is like with Meg and seems they get along with as close friends. This seems to follow an episodic format without any complex long term plot for now. Like for this episode, it involves an object, some magic, and have to deal with the problem. Nothing overly complicated yet as far as the plot goes.

Another touching episode. Meg has done a good job so far.

Fine is such a fine (*ba dum tss*) and cute girl. I like their wholesome friendship.

Aww, wrong answer, Fine.

"Huh?" That owl is funny, hehe.

This show looks very pretty.

We got some more inside in the friend who cares a lot for Megu and it was nice they they helped each other.
The second part was nice as well fulfilling a dying person's wish is a nice things and having the family around is the best thing she could have done.

Meg and Fine have been friends for years, and Fine has a kind heart—she doesn't want to see her dear friend Meg die.

After learning that Granny Flare is going to die soon, Meg wanted to save her, but later she learns a life lesson by the end.

The episode was wholesome with some funny and emotional moments.

this ep hit way harder than I expected 😭 I came in thinking this would be more chill, but nope — it’s already out here playing with my emotions. The mix of heartfelt moments and light humor is honestly really well done. Meg’s still on her ‘tears per day’ grind, but she’s trying her best lol.

Also, that final scene? Beautiful and painful at the same time. This show really knows how to balance the sweet and the sad. If this keeps up, I’m gonna be a mess by episode 5 πŸ˜‚

Nice premise and sweet development, but I'll drop for now.

I find the writing too weak and cheesy. It's like the show is screaming "time to cry now!" but it doesn't set it up with proper buildup. I don't know Fine, why should I care for her grandpa's watch? I don't know the old lady, why should I care if she dies?
The story needs to give me something I can empathise with. Violet Evergarden had the same episodic structure, with people I didn't know every episode, and yet they managed to bring me tears because at the and of each episode I cared for them (I still have PTSD because of ep. 10).
Now, I'm not saying that every tearjerker series needs to be at the same level and has to make me cry all the time, but I'd settle for a good compromise (e.g Plastic Memories).

I can understand people being moved by this show, but unfortunately it's not for me. I'll come back to it if I have more spare time in the future.

To all the lovers of the series: I hope you'll enjoy it till the end. :)
Peace.

EDIT: I forgot to mention. The ED song is a piece of art. As soon as the extended version gets released, it goes into my favourite playlists.

8 minutes into episode 2 and I'm bored out - the first 30 minutes of this series delivers less story content than an average writer can deliver in five

the meaningless fluff and just plain bad scripting already lost me, and they've telegraphed that they intend to do no world building at all

for someone unfamiliar with the source manga, there's no hook to get into this

Or that she need to manipulate a bunch of peoples' emotions with magic (though, I think this one will not work).

Meg having earned only 2 teardrops out of 1000, and she desperately needs help within the year...

As is with Meg's friend of Fine, her going to Faust to repair a watch that cannot be repaired by the watchmaker, and its "fairy" force being gone, Zepeto can only help to repair the rather delicate German-made watch that's a memento from her grandfather. But the constant question about her friend dying, Fine is rather worried being a kind softie, though Meg reassures her that she'll see her life through. However, with the unrepairability of the watch, Meg can only offer its burial sending off its spirit so that it can be used for other items.

The visit to Granny Flare's place, however, Meg being able to see the reaper's black mist enshrouding her, Faust advises against tempering with fate, though this does not slide well with Meg to visit the grandmother herself and spend time with her living alone in the house. But as reality of the reaper gets ever closer, even the tree which Flare rescinds as her favorite place being almost dead, Meg's last rites to help send her son Ed and his family to Granny Flare back home, even if for a day, provides much comfort to her before her eventual passing to pass happily in her sleep.

Aoi Teshima's ED is quite the solemn song of feels, it's definitely one joyful but depressing song.

For once, Meg did a subservience to the people she cares for. That at least warrants the Tears of Joy...

This show’s just gonna make us cry every week isn’t it 😭 fuck man RIP to Granny Flare. Not only does Meg have to grapple with her own mortality, but being able to see other people on the verge of death, but not save them has to feel so bad. There’s something very poetic about ensuring those last few days are as peaceful and happy as can be though. Bringing Flare’s son and granddaughter back to her was the best gift Meg could’ve given her.

If you’re Flare, passing peacefully on a bench surrounded by people you love has to be the best way to go out. May she rest in peace. I’m wondering how Meg’s ever going to get these tears of joy though, first two episodes all the tears have been these bittersweet tears combining grief and joy.

Really liked the first half with Fine too. Meg asking her to marry her is so cute, I know what y’all are.. I can spot a lesbian awakening from anywhere lmao, but it was so sweet how Meg set her grandfather’s spirit free. Best friends since they were little kids, the thought of losing Meg understandably had Fine in tears :/ really hope we get a happy ending here.

I don't get why she keeps asking Fine to marry her, like if it's supposed to be a joke it wasn't really funny the first time and it'll just end up weird if she asks her EVERY episode for it.

That aside this was a pretty decent episode all around, Fine's watch part was okay but nothing amazing. however poor Grandma's story is the best this show has had yet but we're only 2 episodes in so we'll see.
I like to watch some anime, I like to talk about some anime, I dislike wars over some anime, but more than anything I love to live my life, anime is an enjoyable and entertaining addition onto my life but it's not my whole life.

Girl better get a move on if she wants to make her quota and another year, 1-2 drops an in-universe week just ain't gonna cut it unless her master grossly overstated the amount required.

So far the stories are pretty formulaic and border on forced emotion, but I give full credit for that beautiful ED.

Meg starting the episode by making her owl do math had me dying. Like girl, you literally have a phone, but nope, gotta flex the owl with the majestic eyebrow game. Respect lmao.

And Meg being all “I guide the dead” while also “please don’t let me die” is peak chaos. If she’s tryna hit 1000, this nonsense is definitely gonna happen again. No doubt

So Fine's watch was a memento from her grandfather and was handed to members of the German Military... Dare I ask what he was doing during the war?

As someone who has very recently lost my own grandmother, that second half hit especially hard.

Im starting to feel like this show is gonna run with a very emotional theme which is surprising since Meg generally is quite a light-hearted kinda girl but she has a more caring serious side deep down.

The concept of being able to see when people die is actually really messed up when you think about it. Like in her situation knowing that people she cares about are going to die soon must be terrifying and super sad to see.

If they keep this as the general main plot I cant help but wonder if at some point perhaps Fine or Faust will be enshrouded by the reapers mist and perhaps she'll have to see people she holds closest to her die. Or maybe she'll try defy fate if it comes to that.

Amazing second episode.

This anime will make many viewers cry, that ending song is so similar to the song one last goodbye by anathema.
Episode 2 of Aru Majo ga Shinu Made hits you like a magical freight train of feels. Our witchy wonder, Meg, struts in with her usual mix of silliness and melancholia, ready to drop some hard truths on life, love, and letting go. Her childhood friend Fin? A hot mess of memories and unresolved feelings. But does Meg flinch? Oh no, she serves wisdom with the grace of a maestro conducting a symphony of emotions.

The German military wristwatch? Yeah, Meg couldn’t fix that ancient tech—she’s a witch, not even a horologist could fix it—but she worked her magical mojo to liberate the soul trapped inside, granting it peace. Because when it comes to being a boss of compassion, Meg is undefeated.

Oh, and then there’s her wild secret—Meg can see death hanging around like an unwanted guest. She can’t kick fate to the curb, but she shows it who’s boss by making the ultimate play: she reunites the old woman with her family for one last tear-soaked, heartwarming get-together. And just like that, Meg earns her reward .

But wait, Meg channels all those memories into a soul-warming feast—beef stew and roseberry cookies.

@Tarrian i have the feeling like that curse is not real, and her master just trys to teach her valuable life lessons or something, but dunno.

And for you, girl, I swear I'll do the worst
