| They threw creativity out the window with so many gimmicky moments in this first episode. Arnest is also kinda annoying with that personality of hers. Seems she and Blade have a rocky relationship so far but it's the first episode so maybe that will improve. This anime does take itself somewhat seriously so I guess maybe the plot may be worth following? Not sold on this at all yet but we'll see. |

| Well, this is a rather decent start from the author of one of my favorite slice-of-life works of all time: Shin Araki's GJ-bu, a decade plus from the last anime adaptation. After the heroic deed of the Great Hero defeating the Demon Lord, the carefree transfer student of Blade making a ruckus in wanting to make friends at Rosewood Academy, so much so that it attracts the attention of Earnest Flaming, dubbed the Empress. Blade doesn't care and wants her to drag him to the headmaster's office of His Majesty the King Gilgamesh, though the new acting headmaster's only audience is with Blade. The king wanting Blade to regain his powers to nurture future heroes, he thinks that the King has gone mad. Blade being admitted to the advanced class through his own mettle, and he goes all friendly with Earnest, though he avoids her strike with ease. With that, Earnest wants to test Blade's abilities by proving himself or risk expulsion, and he easily does the trick...as an ordinary person with a not-so-ordinary power. Blade sitting on the only table which Earnest is sitting on having her metals, and Blade is all the more elated for the Empress aiding him and becoming his friend. But the sword which Earnest masters: the demon sword, she forces it on her mock battles, though Sophie's one of the best to face being of physical power. Obviously being overstrained by the curse of her sword, Earnest tries to be strong herself though Blade knows that she's not. And upon extensive research, her sword Asmodeus is of concern to him, knowing that she did not harness on its power although it tried to take over her body since young. Blade reassuring Earnest that all will be OK, and the pact between her and Asmodeus is watched in witness as she succeeds in the formation. Things take a turn for the better for Earnest, and Rosewood Academy improves on her change in attitude. Feels like there's too much exposition going on, am hoping that this can slow down. But knowing director Keiichiro Kawaguchi who helmed Spy Kyoushitsu (which he's coming back for Part 2 this season), he's bound to ruin any anime adaptation he touches without fail. |

| Hm, an OP Ecchi Harem show eh? Should be interesting at least it isn't isekai so already 10 billion points for that. Once a long time ago there existed a Demon Lord who terrorized the world until a mighty Hero stepped up to the stage and defeated the Demon Lord, ending his reign. The Hero then created an academy named Rosewood Academy, an academy make to heroes basically, achieve supremacy and help defend the world when needed that enrolls only the best. Enter Arnest Flaming, she gives me Tomo-chan vibes ngl, the top student at the academy, who one day encounters our main protagonist Blade, a boy who seems for some reason to be equal to her in power, something that she finds really irritating. Arnest then shows Blade around the academy during his stay. Seems this story follows the students' challenges in their quest to become heroes. I'm not sure how to feel about this one, it ain't bad and the concept seems somewhat enjoyable and makes me want to stay, but at the same time those "Ecchi" and "Harem" tag scare me for what may be the future of this show. Blade also seems like your typical bland protagonist with a bland goal, sigh. Though his backstory intrigues me Overall pretty typical start Arnest is the onlt reason im staying. Also Arnest seems like a typical harem main girl and of course I'm lovin' it. Typical fantasy school OP main character what could there possibly be not to love, it's at least better than most of the isekai's this season, although that's not really that hard to accomplish. |

| The conflict around Earnest was resolved soo damn quickly, It was kinda funny. And the ecchi fanservice elements are so blatanely obvious, but I don't really mind^^ It's still surprisingly entertaining to watch. I hope they elaborate and deepen Blade's conflict more, between his desire to live a ordinary life and being destined to become the new Great Hero. |
| Not much to say thus far. Seems to be the average OP-protagonist befriending the cooler girls around the school who need a personal conflict resolved. But to do one right away, and finish it in the first episode? Entertaining, at least. |

| How long has it been since we got a battle harem with ecchi no less? Miss those days. Glad to finally have one after so long. Really enjoyed the episode. Totally my type of thing. Like the mc and fmc both. Sophie is cute too. Gonna have a fun ride with this for the next few months. |

| What the hell, the visuals are surprisingly decent. The story isn't anything that hasn't already been done to death but if it can at least stay looking this decent, it's at the very least not on the bottom of the magic/fantasy/isekai list of this season. |

| Entertaining fights, the visuals and animation looked good, not sure how to feel about the plot though. Also felt things were moving a bit fast, so it felt all over the place for me. Ecchi nice bonus for me. |

| Hey this was a lot more fun than I expected. Visually it looks good and so does the animation, pleasantly surprised about it. Blade looks like a fun and likeable MC. Earnest is a cute tsundere and I love my tsunderes. And Nao Touyama!!! First in Bleach and now here, nice. I wasn't expecting to see Earnest fighting fully naked but I definitely appreciate it, although.... where are the nipples!? Fun characters, good visuals and nice fanservice here and there. Looking forward to more! |
| Seems pretty mid but should be fun enough. I agree that the pacing seems to be too fast however. |
| Oh yea we got us an underrated banger. The first half reminded me a lot of trinity seven with arata getting shown around by Lilith. Blade unleashing his attack and destroying the arena, ripping arnest clothes off had me dying. I like the absurdity of this show. The MC is funny as well. I’m looking forward to seeing the abilities of the other heroes. My one concern is that by defeating the demon in her sword, Earnest loses all her personality and becomes a generic waifu Fanservice, funny, good art and animation sign me up. Scores for the manga don’t seem to be high so I guess the story is weak, but meh, entertainment>>> plot  |

| At the start of the episode when the mc is fighting the demon lord there's a scene with good music, camera angle, and vibes. That gives me hope this will be a blast. | This is moving way too fast, and it's definitely nothing we haven't seen before, but as long as things still look like this throughout the series, as longs as the characters stay enjoyable, and as long as the story doesn't derail too far, this should be a fun watch. However, this will automatically stay on my watch list if the ecchi and fanservice stays the same and improves throughout the season. This is everything I've been waiting for. I could've gotten more pictures and better pictures but I was busy taking it all in for myself. Finally, why is Earnest so cute?  |

| Talk about bad start to the series. Straight into action which ends in 30 seconds then sad music plays and we are suppose to feel for main character. Very next shot is the school entry... There are few words that aptly describe how much I hate school setting in anime. The very moment school, competition or making friends is mentioned in any series it's score drops immediately. That said, they seem to be going for comedic approach so it might end up working. Though first episode is not all that confidence inspiring. |
| I'm so sick of watching fantasy/isekai anime that fucking speed run their first one or two episodes, what a joke of a start to this series. It's just gonna be another 4 or 5/10 rinse/repeat series that stays inside it's comfort zone and has barely anything worthwhile apart from some mediocre fan service if this first episode is anything to go by. Blade gave me flashbacks to "I'm Ray White" from a couple of seasons ago... another trash show. Creator made GJ-bu, heard of it, but never seen it. |
