I'm starting to get used the the overall enviroment of the show, just like the JRPG game itself.

Ryza's curiousity is also peaking as she's eager to take risks. Klaudia is also starting to feel more and more closer with the new people she met. They are like a small little family together. It seems the episode/show so far features most of the main party members exploring like an adventure. Slimes seems to be a recurring meme at this point though.

With Ryza wanting to embark on a new dream of learning alchemy how will she go over the obstacles of learning it? Let's find out!

Episode 2 delves deeper into the story of the game, offering new revelations and character development. The story picks up from where the first episode left off, with Ryza and her friends embarking on their alchemical journey to uncover the secrets of this mysterious world. The plot remains a faithful adaptation, as the protagonists uncover clues and encounter new challenges that test their skills and teamwork.

One of the standout features of this episode is the character development. Ryza, the main protagonist, shines as she grows into her role as she gets into her new role of being a alchemist. Her determination and enthusiasm are infectious, making her a likable and relatable character. The supporting cast of Tao and Lent also receives attention, with their own personal arcs and interactions adding depth to the overall narrative. The relationships between the characters feel genuine and adapt emotional core of the game well.

The soundtrack of Episode 2 complements the gameplay and story excellently. The melodic tunes and atmospheric sound effects enhance the emotional impact of key moments just like the games again proving a good adaptation is in our hands.

Despite its strengths, there are a few minor areas where Episode 2 could be improved. The pacing, at times, feels a bit slow, which may not appeal to players seeking a faster-paced experience. Additionally, while the story is engaging, some players might find certain plot points predictable or lacking in surprises.

Overall, this episode maintains the game's strong foundation. It offers an engaging narrative just like the game. Fans of the Atelier series will undoubtedly appreciate this continuation of Ryza's journey, while newcomers will find an accessible and enjoyable entry point into the franchise without playing the game.

Well it seems they guys still have a lot to learn but they are making progress.
On the other hand the new residents on the island seems to be turning a lot of heads i guess people have to get used to them.
The kids learned they are not that bad tho.

I don't think I'm going to get beyond episode three of this one.

It's not that its bad or anything, its just rather weak sauce.

And given how tame it is overall makes certain camera angles seem pretty incongruous.

I liked this episode for how it represented the classic starting quests of a jrpg. Plus, I have to say I'm loving the songs.

The classic beginning progression story of a JRPG, Atelier Ryza is doing this still darn well.

Ryza starting her first steps into alchemy right, though Empel has no time to teach her, but to rely on available resources to teach her at the elementary level while Tao and Lent get their own respective trainings as well from Empel and Lila, whom the both of them are into more research, with Romy Vogel leading the way. With more practice, Ryza has her own atelier with her alchemy cauldron, and Klaudia pays her a visit, though when it comes to resources like flowers not being easy to find, they will find it together outside of the village.

Ryza and Lent meeting Boz and Lumbar again, this time, to send a message to the latter about his drunk father Samuel being a ruckus again. Asking about the Serenity Flower, they can find it at the entrance to the highway, which has monsters that Lent can protect Ryza along the way. And like a clique's bond, Tao is joined together to accompany the both of them to get the Serenity Flower, though they escaped safe and sound within the sight of a monster which Lila still acknowledges his bravery. With the items brought back, Ryza begins the synthesizing, which some kids just so happened to watch, and Empel making it a case of healing medicine, which is a success.

So far, so good. I'm liking it!

Somehow knowing that Lent live in poverty makes me love him even more. If I'm more perceptive I should have notice in the first episode that his sword is nearly broken. Poor Lent, I wish I coul buy him.

This episode felt a lot better than the previous. There was a really cute and big monster weasel. Thankfully, nobody got hurt. The mission is finished! The alchemy animation was cool and Ryza seems to have successfully created her very first healing medicine.

Nah they know exactly what they’re doing with these ryza shots and it’s working every time. Downloaded the third game just because of this show.

So far a very good job of recreating the traditional start of a JRPG game. Pacing is slow, methodical and taking time to establish character relationships. Also cool they showed that there’s a lot of failures involved in alchemy. It’s not always perfect.

The Lent situation is pretty sad, didn’t realise his home life was that bad. No wonder he wants to get away.

Ryza crafting her first healing ointment was cool as well. I liked the animation sequence for that.

Great fanservice, great art, good episode.

I'm still not sold on this series yet. The characters and lack of an actual story makes it boring to watch as the game itself is just one big fetch quest while fighting a few monsters in between. Even the occasional shot of her thighs is starting to wear out its welcome.

Looks like they're beginning to start their training.
Ryza seems to be really motivated, and despite Lent doing something he didn't expect to be doing he's trying his best.
For their second journey it went better than expected, nothing too serious happening.
Lila didn't really scold them, so not too bad, even a bit of praise for Lent.
Wonder if there will be a different animation for when she does the alchemy thingy each time.

It's pretty sweet, but it really feels like watching a Walkthrough Let's Play most of the time. It will still be okay if it keeps this up, but I wish it would make use of the fact it's a show and not a game.

Ryza's party, Guys and Thighs, got to practice their running skills again. Today it's a menacing weasel, which is a step up from the bouncy slime and the fairies Grimm. It looks like bad little alchemists get coal in their cauldrons, but Ryza doesn't quit and gets a happy ending.

Really happy with the pacing so far, once again it’s been a while since I played the beginning of the game but it just feels very nice and not rushed at all, but seeing that this is just 12 episodes it has me thinking they’ll either speed it up at some point or it’s not gonna completely adapt the game, it’ll be interesting to see what they do. This episode was really nice too content wise, really enjoyed Ryza gathering materials for the first time, as well when they encountered that weasel lol.

I was also surprised to see Romy again, I was thinking side quest characters wouldn’t even make it in the show but I’m pleasantly surprised, and after watching Gurazeni I can’t unhear Lumbar sounding like Bonda because they have the same VA lol. And lastly I thought the portrayal of synthesis was really cool, and they also blasted you right in the face with Ryza’s ass lol, they absolutely know and I can’t blame anyone for watching this for that reason.

I didn't notice any particular visual discrepancy outside of that one moment where Ryza was waiting for Lent the next day.
It is a nitpick given it literally only consisted of 1 to 2 seconds, but the frames were very static and the left eye could've used work.
There were other frames where the cast was drawn smaller throughout the episode and they looked great to me.

I love how the friendship between Ryza, Lent and Tao were portrayed with each other as well as how welcoming they are to Klaudia into their circle.
  - Lent and Tao teasing Ryza when asking how her Alchemy is going ( she produced a failed product )
  - Ryza uplifting Lent after the village message he received from Bos
  - Tao letting Klaudia know she could stop by the hang-out whenever she wants ( although it is Ryza's house... )

I laughed when Ryza crawled into the monster's territory. I was surprised to see it was the big one of that particular species.

The synthesizing segment was great and I wasn't expecting them to actually animate that part of the game. Glad to see they did it, instead of the cauldron flashing a ray of light and cutting right to the completed product.

banger episode overall

It’s incredible that they remind us every 5 minutes in the anime that Ryza has big “attributes”…

Man, they’re ruining the anime adaptation of the game with their insistence on fanservice. They show a lot of things to explore and waste minutes showing how Ryza has “big attributes”… To me, this can become a horrible experience with an adaptation of a good game.

And, man, the anime pace will show nothing and can create a incomplete anime because this one can even get more than 2 season to show only the first game.

Another thing, man, wtf ? they really put that sintetization animation like this could be nice on the animation ? Some things only work in games...

nice to see all of them working towards their own goals, Ryza with the ingredients, the little one with the book and the big guy with the ...map?

now as expected, if finding a flower alone is too hard (damn the patience needed), asking friends for help makes it a lot easier, and with that, it's another adventure

funny that, as usual, when mc has a new item, the chance to use it comes right away, this time the 2 kids spying and one got hurt lol gj Ryza :D

I loved this episode. I didn't know what to expect from the director but this episode was really well made.

Actual good animation at the end, great expressions (really enjoying the chara designs), and overall great timing with scenes like Ryza taking flowers with the GOAT, the brief introduction of the children to make their scene more realistic and the scene with the Weasel.

Also, it's unfortunate people find it boring but that's kind of the charm of it in a way. The game is already very slow-paced so it's coherent and it's a very good adaptation so far.

I like the laid back curiosity vibe of this show. If I was on that island I totally would help Ryza explore to find random plants...and not just because those thighs....though they help..

What a shitty kind of idea that an offspring has to be held responsible for their parents like Lent is expected. That's bullshit.

I'm glad the pacing development makes sense and that hopefully it doesn't go to random events or something like that. It's still an obvious promo for the gacha game source material, but I'm liking how the iyashikei elements are executed so far though I can understand not everyone will enjoy this series where action battle stuff barely happens.

I don't know about the other but from the game adaption, they are doing well.

Ryza said herself this is all about her ordinaryness of the village of ordinariness and the story of ordinariness.

If you expect something more eventful you might be disappointed, but so far for me this is how I would expect.

another good episode. Some more ingredient finding lesson for novice alchemist Ryza. This shows the value of having helpful friends and family members. She was able to find the root by help of her dad, and the flower by Klaudia's help.

some tension with Lent's dad causing trouble. I know those two guys at the bridge are @ssholes, but they have a legit complaint this time.

I was starting to think I was the only one who had noticed that! And while it has been a while since I played her first game, it felt pretty accurate to me. Was distinctly different from Ryza 3's, at any rate, which is the one fresh in my mind.

Does the game have interesting stuff going on? These first two episodes have really failed to show me what is interesting about this. It's just so agonizingly boring to watch through so I'm not sure if it the adaptation for the game is accurate and this is just that drab, or if the adaptation is making it seem more sluggish to get through than it actually is. Pacing has always been an issue with various game anime adaptations so I'm not sure about this one.

so ive no idea how are fans of the game feeling about this adaptation but one we can all agree is that thighs are 10/10

Thighs focus anime. Ryza are fine, her thick thighs are fine. But it's annoying with the focusing zooming on her thighs scene too much. Well, it's might attracted some thigh fetish pervert...

Lent holding a pen with his armory gauntlet... Can't he take it off??
And I'm pretty sure Ryza only synthesis 2 recipe so far... And only know two items... With 'uni' too... How come some of alchemist items attached on her waist?... Hmm.

I get the love about thighs and all but again watching this just gives me the feeling that there's absolutely nothing about this series except painfully thick thighs, cheerful faces and happy-go-lucky conversations.

I mean if a 20 odd minute episode feels like a hour long, there's definitely something wrong.
