Ah>_< Well i think her evilness triggered when Reiji " abandoned" her. and Scythe was just awakening the hatred in her heart.

Cal could have killed Reiji if she really wanted that. He would never have seen a sniper bullet coming, but she keeps coming to talk and threaten and warn. And she's still kept the watch after all this time. As unreasonable as she behaves, she knows deep down that SM is untrustworthy and that when both Lizzie and Reiji tell her "it wasn't like that," they must know the situation better than she does.

That doesn't mean she won't unleash holy hell on people, especially the girl Reiji ran away with or Inferno folks (like Lizzie) who had nearly killed her with the bomb.

I like Cal more and more with every new ep. Though I feel bad for Lizzie and Mio :(
I guess we reached the part when the anime is not really understandable without the VN-only information (like Cal exclaimed herself as Reiji's ex-girlfriend and why they act as they do). So VN players, thank you for providing us with the infos :)

THIS. I was wondering about the same thing during the ep.

Asks yourself: why did Cal talk to Reiji in episode 22. She wanted to see if he had some kind of explanation for what he had done. In other words, at that time a small part of her must have hoped that her thoughts about Reiji are false (the fact that she did not kill Elen in the church in that episode shows that she might not have been truly serious back then).

However, Reiji's "You deserve to kill me for what I have done to you" were like confession to her doubts and him being "Elen's Scapegoat" (as Cal interpreted his words) made her believe that he loves Elen more then she thought he loved her 2 years ago. Now, she hates him even more and wants to see him suffer greatly for what he had done to her.
In other words, Reiji's terrible choice of words made her fall deeper into darkness.

For those interested, here is what she was thinking (from my memory) while she was walking through the city after punching Reiji in the VN (and keep in mind that she was not attacked in the VN):

Ah yes, and her bullet in ep20 probably saved Reiji's and Elen's life. If not for that, they would have been careless and Inferno would have made a sneak attack and killed them.

Every damn preview looks promising and with a cliffhanger, sigh.

I'm still wondering if there will be a huge bloodbath in the end. And what will happen to inferno, SM, etc.

We're heading towards a sick ending, thats for sure.

5/5 episode just because there was no "moaning" bgm!!!... maybe not...

I think this was weakest of the chapter 3 episodes so far, but good still nonetheless. And the bgm when Mio and Cal were talking was GREAT imo.

Again, facepalm at Lizzie's death....It seems they kill a character just when they become sympathetic...

Other than that, nice flashbacks of Claudia...I always wonder what kinda delusions the Japanese have of American women to portray every single one of them so GDODAMN hot in this show, while the reality is quite...um... questionable ^_^'

I think her threats and warnings are a way to force Reiji to stay in a place that's near her. That way he wont "leave" her again. She's still really naïve for ignoring all the facts that have been placed in front of her. Right now the story seems to be heading in the direction of her, Reiji, and Ellen teaming up to fight off SM's other creations.

This anime fails to explain it. You can't expect people to play the VN in order to understand it. As it is presented in the anime, people can't really understand Cal's hatred.

And I actually read Nayrael's posts before, and I still find the reasons pretty stupid.

This show has been turning in many directions since the beginning, and now it at it's end it's proven to me to be a great anime, but I can't stand the way Cal is. It's not right. I actually disliked her as a kid, but now it's just that you feel sorry for and ashamed of what she's doing. I can't wait to see how it all plays out.

I' havn't played the game yet. Though think is easy to see how Cal has transformed into Drei.

To understand Cal's hate you have to understand how much Cal loved reijij. Reiji was 'everything' to Cal. So when (in her head) she found that reiji abandoned her and left her for dead (didn't protect her) and his feelings were just a lie,(broke the promise) for his own selfish reasons. Is easy to see where her feelings of being betrayed started.

If you are in the army with just a friend. And you find out that were always really fighting for the other side, you would be pissed off at them and would fight again't them. The situation Cal is more extreme because of her whole life and feelings were riding with the man she loved and then to just be a lie you would feel some hate. And then that hate.. transformed...

Well if you just look on Cal and her hate and just those reason for her turning into what she is now. I would even question it a bit. How she could turn this 'evil' You also missing a huge factor and that is Scythe. He lead her into the darkness. And like Reiji said 'once you kill your first person, you wont be your kind self anymore' Scythe lead her into this dark path, If Scythe wasn't there, i would doubt that Cal hate would of manifested to of become this bad.

Scythe had a big hand in what Cal has turned into to Drei. Her reasons were a just platform for him to work with. He explored her hate, and lead her into the darkness, to simply put it Cal was being played with even though she might not of thought it. I dont think it needs to be shown too much what Scythe would of said to her because, Scythe is no idiot and is a master at getting people to do what he wants, with having little or alot of influence.

Should be noted that right now Cals mind-set right now is a bit 'out of control' she cant control her emotions like we have seen. Everytime she finds out more evidense that rejij has betrayed her feelings/promise even more, its natural she goes deeper into the darkness. Because deep down on the inside she thought reiji really wouldn't do it, but those small thought of hope are getting destroyed.

I've read a few of Nayrael posts and i couldn't help lol at this comment. He really is desperate to make excuses for Cal isn't he?

Well this episode basically set up the stage for the kiilings that are gone a happen for the end to come.
Why to i have a feeling that in the end Cal is gone a be crying and saying to Renji "Why did you left me?" ?

Do be honest i didn't care much for Lizzie's death. Never understood what the fuck she was thinking anyway.

Next episode Yuri rape. Cal really has upgraded her game.

What i really enjoyed was Mio getting scared shit-less on the bike and her reaction of learning all that staff. I always like it when clueless characters get a shit-storm on there heads.

I can share his sentiments to a degree. He's putting in some effort explaining things to oblivious viewers, and yet the same people come back next episode pretending that the show "makes no sense", that characters "act illogically" and the likes. About the same things which have been explained before. It would be fine to disagree with what he writes, but just to ignore it and then repeat the same disproven nonsense again is tiring.

So, essentially this show proves to be too advanced for a number of people who might be better off with Naruto or Pokemon.

The thing is, a good adaption does not need dedicated people trying to explain everything after each episode in order for people to understand it.... I understand the reason, but I still think it's pretty stupid (at least the way Cal act, I agree with Lizzie, she's just a SILLY NAIVE LITTLE GIRL throwing a tantrum). I don't find it "non sense" but I do find the explanation behind it pretty crappy. But that's my own opinion so other viewers may interpret it otherwise....and it doesn't prevent me (too much) from enjoying the action...

I have to agree with this. Good statement!

Anyway, thre will always be people who will just state their dislikes without giving reason. Let it be a good anime series or not, whenever you view discussions about it, you'll see people like that. I just shrug and continue viewing. I also saw some trollings for my favorite characters but I don't try to explain everything.

On the other hand, if people have good reasons to dislike a character, it's sometimes troublesome to make them like that certain character. I, for one, dislike Cal pretty much. I read the visual novel and saw all the endings so I'm saying this with being fully aware of everything. I don'T find it right to be a killer and go after Reiji for her reasons. Her killing Lizzie who wanted to help her is unreasonable and unforgivable no matter what her reasons are. Same goes for her violating Mio. I don't want to go into deep character analysis right now (well, I don't have that much time as well) so I'm leaving the discusion at that.

Blame the anime for censoring things that shows they are a couple. And even if they didnt show those scenes, I suppose you should understand by now the Japanese's way of saying "I love you, please make love to me!!!"="I want to stay by your side forever", as Reiji said to Cal in ep 19. For the love of GDO, it's a friggin' confession from Cal and a friggin' acceptance from Reiji w/o the sex scene following due to censoring <_<

Yeah, they are just that ambiguous, those Japanese with their unexplicable "modesty", or to be more precise, they just love beating around the bushes. >_>
