The episode was really good. The discussion between Xin and Li Mu was epic. The action will be soon. See you next week.

Xin's declaration was great! I can't wait when Xin fights as a General under the king. He needs to get stronger and get more powerful allies. Kyou Kai is his biggest asset. I hope that orange-hair dude and the ninja-like guy in the OP joins Feixin unit. and who was that fat-lipped long-haired stalker?.. this anime is really awesome.. Xin and the king's relationship reminds me of Griffith and Guts in the golden age era of berserk...

But I was a bit disappointed that Xin didn't insist on introducing Kyou Kai to the king. He should have trusted her...

^ Orange haired dude is a girl lol.

This episode was an important reminder that Xin still has plenty of growing up to do, and he needs to do it quickly if he's gonna rise to the rank of General in five years.

Not that I blame him for being pugnacious towards Li Mu considering how important a mentor Wang Qi was to him. But a lot of people will just see it as him reverting back to his old jackassery.

Man, plenty to look forward to with all the stage setting and foreshadowing the last two episodes.

Only three episodes in man, this was all needed for exposition and plot progression, don't worry the battles will be aplenty. I really hope we get to see Li Mu leading a unit alongside the FeiXin Unit, that would tally a nice headcount. Kinda doubt the alliance will go that far though, I'm sure Zhao simply won't be there to aid Wei when Qin invades. I'd love to see Wei send a large unit to Hangao Castle to seek aid from Zhao, just to be surprised and demolished by the Qin army.

Xin declaring war in astute fashion, fantastic, really loved the part when Kaine stood stunned when Qiang Lei passed her. Xin should become general in 5 years, does this mean another time skip or better yet season 3....

Oh God, the quality of the art is already dropping fast. The characters looked like aliens at times :(

Nce episode though, aside from the somewhat silly banquet.

Same! Although Berserk was much more better. Xin and the king don't even come close to how good as characters Guts and Griffith are.

They are keeping the art true to the manga. That's what the chars look like in the manga.

I thought the same thing... I sure hope things smooth out. I almost found myself wishing for some of the first season's 'clean' CGI.

The facial expressions and features, particularily noses, look over-exagerated. At least the story is awesome!

It is Meng Wu/Mo Bu's elder son, you can see him in the first episode.
Right after you see the "ninja" guy.
Not sure how they will join up with Xin yet...

Can someone please tell me if there is a time skip because of the 5 years until Zheng's crowning? I know it follows the manga exactly so if any manga readers are on this discussion can someone tell me without spoiling anything if it skips or not?

Currently the translations for the manga are wayyyy behind the raws, anime is further then the translations. So I cannot tell you how many time skips there are, but from what some one told me there are a few time skips. However where the current raw chapters are(chapter 345) and Zheng is still not the King of Qin.

I doubt those other 2 that appear in a trio with Xin in the ED will be part of his unit. They seem like the ambitious type so they would want to be generals themselves. Xin has Qiang Lei as his right arm and awesome warrior. Those guys are probably gonna rise with Xin with their own achievements and become generals in the next few years like him and the three of them will probably forge a great general trio that will give power to Zheng. They seem like Zheng's future generals.

Yes the art seemed to going all over the place on their faces at times but when the battles begin and you won't have the silly CGi rag-doll movement you'll be grateful for the change. This episode was probably not even given much attention because it was just a building episode for future events.

Questions left from last episode has been answered in this one and another set of questions came up by the end of this episode.
Sei already explained why he remains quiet during the bargain episode before
Li Mu also shown why he just accepted the deal and his words of he's not in the mood to bargain because he already accomplished his goal and knew what Sei is doing based on his words.
Questions that has been left are:
The person who is in the dark cloth every once in a while as hinted in the episode
The 5 year limit if Sei will be crown when he become 22 and if Xin will become a full general by that time.
Things that have notice:
First time I saw Xin having interest in girls because of the banquet
Overall, love this episode. Also notice that art the change in art and lastly, is it just me or are we seeing more Xin and Qiang Lei moments like hinting of a romance between them.

Jeez! What a tense buffet. It is really astonishing how even two people talking and eating is made awesome by this show and the in-world politics. Really nice to see, that its take more than a kid who smashes everything with strange power and luck to move the world.

- The person in the dark cloth is actually a subordinate / spy from Queen Dowager Zhao (Zheng's mother). Not sure if he is the future Zhao Gao though

- By history, Xin would be general after 5 years

- Nah.. it is because Xin isn't interested in lolis and prefer mature woman lol

Too bad, Xin couldn't defeat Li Mu even after he became general

The sudden intrusion of fantasy elements kills Berserk for me. I found Kingdom to be much better because it sticks to its guns, politics and human warfare. The Kingdom characters are better too because they are more confined within human limits. Much easier to relate to.

Animation got bad. The faces especially, what the heck? Stop ruining the epic parts. OTL. Hopefully action scenes aren't like that.

Ah well, this episode was pretty epic. So I guess that 5 years is the timeframe for the story.

I'm glad he say that to that blonde guy
I don't like him either or that alliance
Though I agree with Xin, he should have died.. in battlefield.. by Xin

5 years that was short
Maybe real time? Since long running authors tend to hiatus a lot *cough Berserk cough HxH cough* xD

Only 11 minutes in, why is Shin always so cringy? Why is the art looking so off now? Is the art going through puberty too? Especially the eyes. Ri Boku, don't entertain Shin..

It would've been a cool scene too without the cringe.

The negotiation was so intense that Ri-Boku started to sweat. The fear of death really gave him no other choice but to agree to Ryo-Fui's demand.

Very nicely played out in this episode.
