I am really enjoying the new direction that they have gone with the animation in this season. We no longer have those annoyingly long panning still shots during the conducting, instead we have constant fluid motion and it really does wonders for the overall presentation.

Also, watching Nodame being Nodame never gets old.

Yet another great episode of Nodame, never dissapoints.

Hilarious ep.

D! xD

One thing I didn't like was that they showed so little of the Platini Competition. I think it was better in the live-action, more detailed :D

Nice episode, even though they included the whole tournument in one ep they did it very nicely and it didn't really felt rushed or anything. :)

I really missed you, Nodame anime! ;__;'

It was awesome. Nodame x Chiaki ftw. Haha, who knew Nodame had such a great figure, eh, lucky Chiaki.

I agree. It adds so much to the music, especially for Kitamura style.

I don't like how they are doing full black screens for the music titles and competition days though. It gets annoying. The way they did it in the first season was better looking with the nice medium-sized banner at the bottom corner.

You know I'm not sure I agree with that sentiment - The 1st one anyway.
And it's for the exact same reason you like it! The slow panning motions, during the orchestra sequences, made it feel more fluid and real. Now it seems more hurried and too light. I'm reading the manga as well, and compared to the 1st season -- this just isn't matching up. Though, it might have something to do with the fact that, this is a short season - with only 11 episode - Compared to last season, with 23 total. The 1st season had more space, to make the instruments come alive.
You can tell how well the 1st season flows with the manga too. I use to play in a orchestra (bass, and viola); and so I loved watching the bow motions, and finger play during the performances... ~sigh~
Yappari, the pacing of 1st season was just right.
I'm going to have to agree with Onibaba. The live version is better - of course nothing beats the manga! (>.<)
Yet, just seeing Nodame again, makes even those little irradiation's seem trivial. Rock on Nodame!!

Wow, the competition went really fast compared to the live action; I was expecting it to last at least 2 eps, I'm impressed at how well they managed to squeeze it into a single one.

D! xD Wasn't this also mentioned in the first season special?

Yeah, i really hope Nodame and Chiaki finally get together. It's so annoying that they aren't.

It sucks though that the orchestra sequences were so short.
Do you know of ‘The Magnificent Steiner’ ? The main character was normally a weak, sickly man. When he was in an emergency, someone would come and help him. A secret friend. But, the main character never realised...... that his secret friend....Was himself.

Gyabo!

This episode was amazing as always and Nodame fussing over her lingerie (while Chiaki didn't care) was priceless. I just wish the concour part had lasted longer, it felt a bit rushed and I would have liked to hear more of the pieces played. Though maybe not like during last season where a concert could last a whole episode... but at least it would have been nice to stretch this for another half episode or so.

It's amazing when I see a show where characters have catchphrases and I loathe them, but I just can't (and probably will never) get enough of Nodame. Loved this episode, but I wish we could have seen Chiaki conduct the violin concerto.

Nice episode, but it seemed a little strange that the climatic finals was completed left out of the coverage. You would think that they could have got rid of the first preliminaries or something.

It felt rushed for me. But if it means that it would cover more ground until where the manga is now presently, then that would really be lovely.

I was also disappointed they didn't show the final piece...the live-action version was great

I feel that the Dorama Version is much much better than the Anime. The Anime Version cut the musics. It's not happening in the Dorama Version... Very sad...

I don't know what is going to happen in the Anime Version since it has 11 Episodes and the Dorama just have 2 Episodes.... Hope it will be a slightly different stories from the Dorama or it will become a very boring Anime series for me...

Note: If you want to watch the Dorama Version, Watch the Special #1. It covers #1 & #2 of the Anime version...

The first episode was a very average introduction but now I'm totally convinced : this second season is as good as the first season, a masterpiece so to say. Adult romance + actually funny comedy + awesome characters + classical music = perfect on my book. Too bad I'm French and the "French" part of the show is so cliché and the French language used in the anime is so wrong...

Talk about fun episode!

I loved the way Katahira conducted, haha! Simply loved it. It was so... entertaining and fun, exactly the way he seemed too. But Chiaki winning was simply wonderful, and it wouldn't be fair if he lost at all. I wonder if he's going to meet Vieira-sensei now.

I like how his relationship with Nodame is developing too. Conducting with the otaku baton? Simply awwww. This is why I love Nodame Cantabile.

I agree that it felt somewhat rushed though. Starting the concour and ending in the same episode? I'm disappointed they didn't show his last piece, as well. But oh well. At least yes, the D joke was priceless.

I feel so much disappointed with the 2nd season so far.. All the drama and touchy feelings of the 1st season are cut. I've neither watched dorama nor read manga but the 2nd season is really rushy.. it feels like an action: one did this, another did that, bla bla bla, D, bla bla bla... no more good music... I'm really... really upset it has become so "easy-listening"...

I'm fall for the ED though ^^

I think the dorama here did a better job. Chiaki conductiong the Concerto while crying, his face when they named him winner, it was so perfectly done and touching. But the anime really rushed here...

Anyway, the dorama was 2 episodes (each 2 hours long!!), and they covered the 1st in just 2 episodes, so my guess is that they're gonna put more emphasis on Nodame. I hope they will cover for this

I guess I see the reason now why this season is only 11 episodes. I can't believe they did all of the competition in one episode. Not that its a bad thing, just surprised. I'm now expecting this season to go pretty far into the manga.

For my opinion those long pannings were cool. This new Style looks kind a silly.

New season is definetly getting better and better. I hope that Chiaki meets Viera-sensei soon :P.

Wow, it was surprising to see Chiaki make a mistake. I don't remember him doing one single thing wrong in the first season. I was overjoyed when he won as well, to the point of shouting "Woo! Go Chiaki! Yes!" I miss all the old characters, but I'm enjoying the second season so far. It's really nice to see movement in the performances as well.
