Victorique and others are watching the play, too. That is related to Leviathan story and the case (though not exactly the truth).

I sensed that guy Kujou met before watching the play was suspicious...

Meeting a couple, who have memory on the tower, on the way back to Academy. That woman is switched?

Wait, there are two of the same magicians?? (or just his trick...) Victorique heard Cordelia's singing... nice.

Wow, so fast between Summer to Christmas!! Next ep. is Christmas!!

Well, what a surprise.
Also, it's a prayer!

And I was kind of wondering what happened to the maid and the child, but having the maid switch with the queen right before the murder takes place... that kind of felt a bit cheap.

Seriously though, Roscoe you sneaky bastard. He and Cordelia should've been the main characters instead. Keep it up.

Wow, talk about a scandalous affair O_O. So the queen cheated on the king with Leviathan and got pregnant and gave birth to an interracial bastard child. Then she switched places with the maid and the king killed the maid whom he thought was the queen when he found out about everything? Crazy man, just crazy.

Plus the king was at the play with Jupiter and I felt sorry for him having to see the events be retold on stage. The guy just can't catch a break.

Then the queen is still alive with her son and it pisses me off that she didn't get any repercussions for her actions. I mean because of her Leviathan died, her maid died, Nicole got decapitated, her other son died, and the king got cuckolded. Yet she's all smiles and peppy like nothing happened.

All in all, this was a fantastic mystery and it looks like next episode has Kuro-bunny?

The first one said "your beloved" not "my beloved".
They mean Victorique is loved by her mother, but hated by them.

She's the child of their enemy, but she's still her daughter.

Amazing episode,

The Queen lives on with her son(of Leviathan).
We also found out how Brian Roscoe does his magic tricks of being everywhere, since he has a double just like the Queen and her Maid.
Victorique and Kujo held hands in the end :]

@above: lol

Anyways, i wasn't overly impressed with the play analysis - then when she talked to the head of science i warmed up a bit more; "Okay, okay thats even more of the mystery." Then they run into the son of the queen (wtf is up with that) and end it on a good note.

The way she dragged it out revealing a fraction at a time to different people, nothing else happening, keeps this off from being an awesome episode for me.

The fact that there was two Roscoe was already shown. It couldn't possibly be him who intervened in the ceremony (last episode), he was talking with Kujo at the same time.

The Coco Rose murder was fully explained, but it didn't really need a Gray Wolf to solve. If a person enters a room with only one entrance and comes out, usually, he's the killer if no traps are involved. None of Beatrice's magic was used. (lol)

That's really surprising at the end. Coco Rose and her son actually managed to avoid death because if the maid. That story was actually pretty sad. I almost wanted to cry when she hinted that those people were Coco Rose and her son.

This... it pisses me off too... If it had been the maid that escaped with the queen's son and raised him as her own then I'd say it was a happy note, but like this feels cheap. That queen was a karma houduni. Just because she's the queen it means that her life more valuable than others?

The twins were a surprise, even though I've read before about magician twins pretending to be a single person.

what a dramatic story... it was all a confusing twisted story of love and betrayal... and personally, i still don't fully understand much of it..

so, the king placed the severed head inside his crown? how disturbing... i wonder how it felt to have a "head" on top of your head? lol...

and i knew it was Jupiter Roget all along... but what a surprise the king is also there...

and Coco Rose is still alive...

oh well, the arc's done... next ep will be Christmas episode... oh, Jacqueline makes a comeback... Avril also looks quite pretty... wait, Xmas episode with the Marquis? damn...

and lol at Kujo's "prayer"...

PS. anyone noticed Gosick's MAL rating go up? it was previously 7.96. it's now 7.99.

Was a great episode for me. I like how Victorique kept all of this in the shadow from her dad. Kujo was less annoying as well, and his gibberish prayer was hilarious.

I didn't really care for how they portrayed the Queen as the victim in all of this either. Murder is, of course, going off the deep end for judgment, but she needed some kind of punishment. Then again, how many Kings have mistresses? It's not like divorce is much of an option for them. Oh well.

ryanneo said:

The father was Leviathan, the African Alchemist. An affair against the King is one thing, but the fact that it was an African child made the whole thing worse for her.

So how much more awesome would this episode have been if Cecelia and Sophie weren't making a ruckus throughout the whole play? My God, so annoying..

Overall, everything panned out wonderfully. I didn't expect the Queen to have survived the whole thing, but when an old blonde woman and a younger dark-skinned guy entered the carriage I didn't even need Victorique to tell me who they were. Biggest shocker for me is two Roscoes. I was sure that it was just some double masquerading in a costume or an illusionary trick in that previous episode, but there's actually two of them?!

She solved the mystery, that's good. At least she's allowed to return to the academy now. Pretty interesting how it all went with the look-a-likes and the child of Leviathan.

So there really are two Roscoe's! I already figured as much, but it was still a surprise they actually showed it!

Good to see there's a lighthearted episode coming up. The last episodes were all so serious. Christmas time! =D

Very nice episode and multiple mysteries solved.
So the one that was killing in 1900 wasn't Coco Rose but her made and the woman and her son who traveled together with Victorique and Kujo was Coco Rose.
The king was the one that killed both but this truth was kept silent in order to keep the country save, if you check history you might find some other monarchs who killed but kept it hidden.
And the actor who took Coco Rose's place was killed a well in the end.

Very nice arc indeed i wonder how next arc will look since the end of the anime is closing in.

It was a nice episode but i still don't get everything.
The king was shown killing Coco when he saw the baby and leaving the room (and seriously is there a hat or something as big to contain a bloody head without being suspicious?) so he left the baby there ? Or even if the baby wasn't with the queen (or the maid) at that moment, no one thought of finding the baby and making him disappear ?

Also, why 2 Roscoe ? I feel deceived XD (my inner self probably wanted to believed in his magic xD)

There was some lie and truth in the history that was told.

The history said, the baby was already dead after the birth which was what we don't know if the King knew about it or not that the baby was still alive. But that doesn't change the fact that the King would learn the baby was black.
The history said, there was only the queen(maid) in the room where the King killed her(which mean the King only came in to kill the Queen but not to check on the baby assuming that everyone believe that the baby was already dead). But Victorique interpret it a little different to Roger.

After all, the Queen was one step ahead of the King and it seems that only Victorique knows about it.

Brian Roscoe is known for his reputation in teleportation magic and we all know that the trick behind it is a "secret twin" that is always prevented from socializing w/ the public, well that's an already known fact if you watch magic trick shows like me.
oh and in an ep of Jigoku Shoujo it is showed in there too

anyway, the episode is very good and i love the mystery.

How many goddamn people looked like Coco Rose?
The mystery went well at first, but the part at the end with her surviving kinda ticked me off. Oh well, still a pretty good arc.

And indeed, Jupiter Roget looks like he stepped out of an episode of FMA. The hair, the face shape, everything.

Great episode, ties together many of the fragments from previous episodes.

It seems many didn't like the way Victorique slowly revealed the story.

But i felt that, that was the beauty of it, how she selectively revealed different information to different parties, and not giving anyone information that might jeopardise someone else's position.

The twists at the end of the episode really surprised me; two Roscoes and the queen surviving , i had forgotten about the maid.

And the conversation with the King was a nice touch too, as well as her mother and Roscoe watching over here

I enjoyed this so much that I'm rewatching the ep it straight away!

I didn't think the king deserved a break though. He was a !@#$ing bloody murderer after all, which isn't an excuse just because she was unfaithful (guess decapitation was more popular than divorces back then); and for that, the maid and Nocole died. Pretty much only the innocent people died in the incident...well, except for Leviathan; that bastard had an affair with the king's queen, so I thought he got just what he deserved. ....And speaking of the queen...that whore! I wished she and the king would have died as well.

Interesting episode, the whole play thing was interesting (although I still don't quite know how Victorica figured all this out but whatever lol). I don't really like how Coco gave birth to an ILLEGAL BASTARD CHILD AND IS ALL ;D The guy even said that Coco loved the king too ... plus, there are THREE Cocos?! Er, OK ... so the King killed her in a fit of rage? I suppose that's kind of understandable but not the whole killing then ...? I don't even know what to think anymore ...

Excellent episode. The fact that the queen switched places with the maid felt a bit cheap, though. It's like every goddamned girl out there looks like her.

I still don't understand how Nicole was killed though. Did the king kill her as well? And why? I understand the whole head-switching thing, but that's basically it. And also, how the hell did they manage to make a head explode like that? Don't go giving me any crap like Battler's small bombs shit.

Another thing I don't understand is why the Marquis wants the case solved. From what it looks like, it seems that the king is quite close to Roger. Am I to assume that the Science Academy holds more political influence than the Ministry of Occult? If so, this might be a way for the Marquis to gain influence over the king.

1st... Ian wasnt king's son either... he is baron musgrave's son

2nd... @r3yn & Linalee
the event where the king hide coco's head in his hat is in 1914... which coco had died more than 10 yrs... u think the head will still be bloody?.... <.< (i know i know, that isnt coco's head, but her maid's)

Edited: ooops, my mistake, the head in king's head is the nicole's head, not coco's head... so yeah, it may be bloody... >.<

the head was preserved when coco died in 1900 by the help of roget, which mean the murder in 1914 is roget's idea/plan as well. (preservative, burning head with the help of chemical reaction, etc, who can think of that if not science academy?)

since roget is the one planning all those, it is pretty obvious that ur theory was correct. probably marquis also suspect that roget was behind those, but he didnt knew how they done it, so he need victorique to reveal the truth so that science academy will lose their influence

The Baron and the Ministry of Occult are scheming for power (to be the power behind the throne). One can understand just how reluctant Victoria is to help the Baron achieve this--particularly since her whole existence and wretched childhood was probably part of the Baron's plan to reveal the truth about Coco Rose.

As I recall the Leviathan arc, the king was not particularly nice especially in regards to exploitation of his African colony (shades of Leopold of Belgium and the Heart of Darkness--"the horror, the horror").

Does Coco Rose have an easy ride in this? I don't think so. Her best friend (the maid) is killed by her spouse (in an arranged marriage) in a jealous rage. She has to give up her identity, flee the court, and live in relative poverty and anonymity to raise her child without a father (killed by the minions of her spouse). In the end just about everyone loses something: the king, Coco Rose, the maid, the alchemist, the actress, Cordelia, Victoria, both Brian Roscoes....

Note that with so many people having been killed to keep this quiet Victoria had to tread very very carefully or both she and Kujo would have "disappeared mysteriously".
Please don't feed the trolls!
