Damn, they really declared war. This is one of those episodes where two factions properly face off against each other without ambushes or trickery. It's jus a straight off face off like one of the previous posters advertised.

Suo lives up to his reptuation. We got to see his badass side and making the fight looks so easy for him. It was a popcorn show for Haruka and his gang, like a movie played in real time. Hell, I'm even impressed.

It's time for the tournament arc to commence!

Chouji Tomiyama, the leader of the Shishitoren, declared his intent to claim Furin High, along with Umemiya, who stormed into the school. The long-awaited showdown between the Bofurin and the Shishitoren, a battle for dominance, was finally about to begin. Leading his gang through a bustling nightlife district, Tomiyama guided them until Sakura and his friends found themselves at the abandoned movie theater known as Ori, the headquarters of the Shishitoren. In this environment, reminiscent of a cage and surrounded by Shishitoren members, the first match between powerhouses Kyoutarou Sugishita and Arima Yukinari began.

Nirei explained that Arima Yukinari is a powerhouse capable of breaking several ribs with a single punch, which worried him. However, both Suou and Umemiya reassured him, stating that matching those two up would be unfair. This was proven true when Sugishita managed to take down Yukinari with just one punch, leaving Tomiyama excited and praising their strength. After some banter between the two groups, the next matchup between Suou and Minoru Kanuma began. Suou provoked Kanuma, causing him to lose his temper. Suou deftly dodged his attack and then posed the question of whether Kanuma wanted to climb the stairs to adulthood with him.

What a way to kick off the tournament arc. These fights are going to be absolutely wild, no doubt about it.

I'm noticing how they're using something that looks like live2d to animate the crowd, it's cool.
Choji literally has those Mikey eyes lol
The soundtrack was really good during Suo's fight. Or more like a beating.

Choji is similar to Mikey, yes, but X from Beyblade X is even more familiar, X has the thirst to fight strong opponent all the time regardless of the current circumstance, just like Choji, while Mikey most of the times just want to chill out and avoid starting a fight.

I was hoping that it'd start with a ohko and who better to do that than Sugishita, silenced the crowd. Also I was expecting Suou to be a martial artist and yep the guy was menacing. Great stuff. Really hyped for Jou vs Sakura.

Definitely one of the coolest settings for a tournament arc. At least they’re somewhat being realistic with having the kids go to an abandoned theater to fight instead of doing it in the open like Tokyo Revengers would do lol.

I thought things would be a little more of a struggle, but so far Bufurin beating Shishitoren ass. Looking like Umemiya v Chouji is going to be the real draw here because I think Bufurin’s every day fighters are way better than Shishitoren. Makes sense when you consider Umemiya treats everyone like family whereas the Shishitoren foot soldiers get treated like expendable garbage.

Sugishita v Arima was cool and all, but Suou’s fight was the real highlight of the episode. Animation and direction were awesome. It was like Suou was just toying with Kanuma, intentionally trying to show him the skill gap and what it means to be an “adult” Shishitoren have been reigning with terror for so long, so seeing them get a taste of their own medicine is satisfying.

Hype for next episode. I hope Sakura gets a strong opponent.

The fight animation was so nice and crisp.
Sugishita's OHKO was expected, but Suou's complete disgrace of his opponent was the highlight of this episode.

I was looking forward to this scene where Suou absolutely traumatized that man. So hyped to see him when he is like this. Dude trounced him like he was a child 😭

Never thought that a fight would take place in a abandoned theater of all places. So far Bofurin is leading 2-0 with Umemiya beating his opponent with one hit and Suou toying with his opponent with the fear of being kicked out of Shishitoren.

It's insane how hype this episode was, I waited a whole week and now we have to wait longer for Sakura's fight. It was really badass how 'eye-patch-kun' humiliated that guy.

I think Shishitoren was the type of school
Sakura was expecting when he first enrolled at Bofurin. Instead he got adopted by a bunch of wholesome delinquents, which he wasn't expecting at all. Whether he wants it or not, these guys have his back now.
I can only imagine what would have happened if he had enrolled at Shishitoren instead.

I love that Sakura's constant mindset is that he's always going to give every fight his all, but the second he gets complimented he's completely flustered and (I_//), it's really adorable

I thought they'd cram most or even all 5 1v1s in one episode, glad they're fleshing them out to show off each character more. Furin Baji is def badass, it's cool that even the MC respects him (now, is it mutual?).

My first impression of Suo was Soft Boy who Likes Tea, but daaamn he's an awesome fighter. I love his combat style, the open-hand martial arts stand out amid the hard punches, tackles, etc. Along with his aesthetic, I'm curious about his backstory now, esp since not even Ume knows much about him! I like how even Sakura knows to ask about Suo and not his opponent. Furin Takemichi was funny throughout the ep too, tho he's only tolerable cuz he's not the MC, nor is he fighting a 1v1 that he'd inexplicably win.

Choji is totally Wind Breaker's version of Mikey, and it's interesting to see that type of character as an early opponent. :D

When Suou was schooling Kanuma and he told him what he lacked I thought he was going to say empathy which he eventually did but first he said imagination. I'm not sure if Kanuma simply disappears or eventually resurfaces as a Bofurin but the Shishitoren need to do a better job of developing their members otherwise this will keep happening.

On that note I'm looking forward to Sakura's fight since he'll be going up against the 2nd in command (I think) and then the leaders' fight.

What a great way to start off the tournament arc. Back to back crazy fights and even if they are one sided we kind of knew it would be until it gets to the bigger bosses fights. Suou and Sugishita’s fights were over in two seconds and even though the second fight lasted longer we knew from the get go his was going to dominate his opponent. Looking forward to these next couple of fights. Definitely Sakura’s fight 👀👀👀

The big fight card between Bofurin and Shishitoren has begun!! The Bofurin boys arriving at Shishitoren headquarters, which is an old movie theater. I like the look of their place especially with all the seating accommodations, the balcony seats would be a great view. Choji attitude as the Bofurin boys walked up was very unsettling, the general laidback attitude he has definitely shows how unhinged he is. The moments when Choji would scold his own men were ice cold, him and Jou are ruthless at the top. Starting things off with Sugishita defeating his opponent in one hit! Slammed that dudes face into the theater floor and he didn't get back up. Sugishita ate the punch thrown and him and sent it back ten fold, over without a second look. An easy first victory for Bofurin which was followed by maybe an even easier win. Suo with his mysterious eye patch going next, dog walking his opponent like it was nothing. Completely parrying any strike thrown his way, Sou was far superior in every way. Not even worth putting in effort for Sou to win.

That wasn’t even a fight for Suou, that was him just taking that poor to kid school. Just lethal.

When Choji asserted his authority on those who guys and gave them that death stare; I was like “Mikey is that you?” 😂

Vale a pena considerar.

Phenomenal stuff. They keep sprinkling these insert songs into the show and it fits the series so well. Really curious how next week's fights will turn out. So far, it looks like Shishitoren are gonna get completely wiped unless they have something up their sleeve. Togame Jo is looking locked in, so Sakura might have the hardest fight of them all.

Truly awful. I was hyped when they contrived a tournament out of a gang war, but this was terrible. Clowning scrubs isn't a feat. Doming an NPC isn't hype.

Was this supposed to be subversive?

Glad the obviously misguided gang is getting absolutely pushed. At least have cool fights between the banal proselytizing.

I was really looking forward to Suo's fight and boy did they deliver! The look on his face when he got serious was amazing and I loved the choreography!

Nirei's reasoning for coming along was alright I guess, I wonder what (more) he'll learn from this though.

I don't expect the next couple of fights to be over this soon, can't wait to see how Sakura will go about it!

@Lurik259 I guess in the next episode Sakura and his senpai (I keep forgetting his name) are going to lose. So the last game between the two bosses will have higher stakes. If Sakura loses against the second in command, it will make things more interesting for his character development.
