| In another rare occasion, Sumi is back again! I think this episode serves as a much happier episode compared to the previous two where it was all gloomy. Kazuya got to enjoy yet another..random date with Sumi. I will say this though, she did a decent job at lifting the mood and helped Kazuya mentally. Plus, it seems she is much more confident than first appeared. |

| Man, I'm glad they took the time to further develop Sumi's character this episode. To find a way to comfort Chizuru after losing Sayuri, Kazuya reaches out to Sumi as her Rental Girlfriend, and shares the situation with her. Sumi, attentive to his words, endeavors to guide Kazuya to a meaningful gesture. Sumi then declares that she also wants to help Chizuru in this unfortunate situation she's in. Surprisingly, before the date end, Sumi takes Kazuya to the beach. Kazuya starts panicking as the rent session is almost ending, but she insists, using her voice to explain that she wants to do it for Chizuru and as his friend. Sumi's gestures and expressions are undeniably adorable. Considering how this episode unfolded, she appears to be one of the most suitable people for Kazuya to confide in. However, the choice of heading to the beach seems a bit random. Sumi is certainly growing bolder, and it's heartening to witness her communicate so clearly with Kazuya. It seems like her determination is shining through. Despite not spending much time at the beach, the purpose of their visit to Fujisawa remains a mystery to me. I didn't anticipate Sumi's brief moment of shouting, which turned out to be quite short-lived. Nevertheless, she did speak up a bit in this episode. Ultimately, she proved to be the perfect person to support Kazuya. It's also reassuring to see Kazuya finally deciding to uplift Chizuru. Kazuya's boss made me laugh so much "I've got dibs on Ruka" LMAO. Also seems we've gone back to the normal ED. Hopefully, their date will go smoothly, and Chizuru will realize that she can lean on others for support, including Kazuya. |

| Sumi's as accident prone as ever i see. As cute as ever though especially when she's determined. Nice return of Mami even as just the narrator. An less honourable person would have wanted to stay behind Sumi as she took those stairs. The message at the beach that Sumi written really showed well the kind of person she was. Given whats happened Chizuru would defo be hurting a lot so i defo want to see kaz be able to cheer her up and get her through this trial. |

Happy wife, happy life lmao A little bit of a tonal whiplash coming from how sad episode 9 was to the light hearted first half of the episode, but it was good that Kazuya got his mind off of things if only for a little bit. Sumi was really great in this episode. Even though she can’t talk that much, she expressed so much through her actions. Seeing how determined she was to cheer up Kazuya and give him the strength he needs to help Chizuru was really cute. That finger game on the train was beyond adorable 😭 Kazuya picking up extra shifts and going the extra mile to get an advanced pay-check to help out Chizuru is very commendable. Mad respect to him. Still might be a degenerate, but he’s trying to be better and that’s all we can ask for. Kinda feel bad for Ruka seeing Kazuya work so hard for another girl and not even acknowledge her when she’s leaving work etc. but she did get an amusement park date in return so I guess it’s even? Lol Mami narrator but not in the episode :/ .. pain. Excited to see how the date goes next week. It’ll understandably probably be a little awkward at first, but I think Kazuya will pull it off. |

| Sumi episode! Always serves to lift our spirits a bit, can't really go wrong with a Sumi focused episode. Them playing chopsticks on the train really takes me back to my childhood. Guess we'll get another date with Chizuru next week, hope it goes well. |

| Kazuya rocked that “fish” shirt this episode, makes me think Phish is called Fish in their universe and Kazuya is a Phish fan lol. But man, you really can’t go wrong with a Sumi episode, when depressed just call up Sumi lol, something as simple as having fun was enough to bring Kazuya to his senses and it’s thanks to Sumi, the date as a whole was super sweet, I especially loved that last scene when they were by the water, the background was very nice and just a great end to the Sumi date. Biggest downside tho, I heard that Sumi apparently doesn’t appear for a long time after this, if Season 4 happens I hope they add some anime original content for her or something if this is true. And Mami finally appeared this episode, very briefly tho, she just did the explanation for the finger game Kazuya and Sumi played, if this is her only appearance this whole season I’m gonna be both sad and very amused lol, I miss her and her shit stirring methods. And after Kazuya got an advance on his pay, he has now rented Mizuhara for a whole day, it feels like it could be the finale but we got 2 episodes left still, hell yeah. |
| It’s episodes like these which remind me that sumi is my favourite. She’s the one of the only normal girls in this show. Even if she is a rental girlfriend at least she’s doing it to better herself with communication. Ruka is annoying af and likes to announce she’s kazuya’s girlfriend every 5 seconds. Mami is literally satan. Chizuru is boring and holds back her feelings almost all the time. Imo at least yaemori and sumi are the only kinda normal girls in the show and that’s why I like them. That’s my opinion at least. |
| I didn't like this episode. Sumi is boring, maybe a little less in this episode as she spoke words, but still boring. Ruka was funny and likeable in this episode, while Kazuya is back to stupid mode from season 1... renting Chizuru again? spending so much money again? He should already quit it and start acting as normal person and not paying for her time in season 3! Just ring on her doors or call... And stop calling her Mizuhara even in own thoughts! Ichinose or Chizuru already! This episode ruined the potential of the season.. the part with Sumi could be cut to 5 minutes. |

| Eh, while I thought Kazuya was renting Chizuru in the previous episode for this episode instead he rented Sumi but is now going to rent Chizuru for an entire day and took an advance on his pay.... Dude, if you have to pay Chizuru to spend time with you and try to make her happy while going into debt.... yeah not a real friend IMO. But in defense for Chizuru, she didn't ask for any of this, Kazuya doing it on his own. Meanwhile he still has Ruka and even Sumi offered to spend time with him as friends when he only booked her for an hour. |

Kazuya seeking advice from Sumi about what he should do regarding Chizuru. Sumi isn't the most talkative person so its puzzling why Kazuya would ask her for advice, then again she's probably the only one he knows whom could give him unbiased advice. Kazuya is at a standstill about what he should do to comfort Chizuru. She's put on this brave face but we all know she's hurting inside. Sumi even without saying much of anything still gives Kazuya great motivation to help Chizuru. They go to a fun looking beach and that giant tower overlooking. Sumi garnering all the attention from every guy up there even the ones whom came there with girlfriends. Sumi is irresistibly cute, Kazuya seeing how everyone has their eyes on her. The two of them just having wholesome fun at the beach cutting loose. Sumi could see that Kazuya was struggling and she wanted him to have fun instead for a while. Sumi messages in the beach were spot on, Kazuya should do everything he can to support Chizuru. She's done so much for him its time to return the favor and him be the pillar of support this time.

| Boring episode. Ruka needs to dump MC. Mami needs to come back and make his life hell. MC's solution to Chizuru feeling sad: book her for a whole day and dump money in her lap. What a chump. Thyriad-oPPailov said: why are you summarizing the episode? say something if you liked it or not? Quite common on MAL, I've noticed. MC is a loser forever and ever. If he's gonna spend this much, he should at least hit up the red light district (as his boss said) and get some real action. Dude has spent a fortune by now. |

| Absolute peak episode, well at least most of it. For my fellow Sumi lovers, this is the type of episode we look forward to every season. At least to me Sumi is the best girl by a long shot and I wish we had more episodes with her like this, unlike the whole mess going on with everyone else she always just wants the best for Kazuya and really just wants to be his actual friend or maybe even more. It's always so sweet seeing how she is around him and in general, yet sadly he's too zoned in on Chizuru to notice. Plus when he does finally just have fun with Sumi I feel like she just opens up a whole new side of him you see none of the others do, like when he was laughing and just having fun in this new episode. LIKE JUST GO FOR SUMI PLEASE SHE LIKES AND CARES ABOUT YOU......... I think I've heard Sumi basically just disappears now in the manga and that makes me really upset, she's easily one of my top characters of all time and it's such a shame she's kinda just thrown off, I get it's about Chizuru but still.. for my fellow Sumi lovers again absolute peak episode, and well, time to go back to probably cringy Chizuru x Kazuya time next episode. |

Legit question: if rental girlfriends are allowed to "continue with their date as friends" after the time goes out, what's stopping them to take their clients to a motel and prostitute? They would be using the rental girlfriend job to get costumers and earn lots of extra money by prostitution, wasn't that against the rules? But if they did they just wouldn't tell and everything would be fine, right? This mangaka can't even follow his own damn rules. Also, how can Kazuya so fkng dumb to rent Sumi for just an hour??? That was cheap as hell for him to do, and it also shouldn't be allowed LMAO It should be like a 3 or 4 hours date minimum. Oh, also, we know they both are friends, what's wrong with just asking her to meet up to talk? He does that with Chizuru all the time and doesn't have to pay her, just a couple episodes back Sumi herself spent all afternoon helping him with the flyers for free just because she is his friend and wants to help, so why just wanting to have a normal conversation with her have to be so different? He was just asking about emotional stuff fog God's sake! This mangaka just can't write his characters having normal interactions, at the end of this episode Kazuya wants to be a real man yet he still doesn't have the guts to invite Chizuru on a real friend-date asking her face to face so he ended up renting her again, why does everything have to be job-related??? I mean, of course I know that's the "point" of this series, I understand, but stuff like this is just straight up absurd. All these questions are born from how shit this story really is, so dumb, it almost root my brain, I swear. Still, this was a peak episode tho, all Sumi episodes and moments are peak, after all, she is the only good thing in this shit trash-ass series. PD: Sorry for such a long and dumb comment, but I just had to say all that, I feel kinda relieved now lol |

| It was nice to watch a Sumi-centered episode for once. Rie Takahashi makes a wonderful voice acting for someone who barely speaks, in contrast to Ai Hoshino or Megumin from Konosuba. That's what I call a versatile VA. |

| Kazuya turning to Sumi for help, though she feels that she has a part to play in Mizuhara's movie, that the result was Granny Sayuri eventually passing of old age. And even with little worlds, Sumi has an idea: to being Kazuya to Fujisawa, Shonan for a spontaneous trip...to the beach. But why the beach, and although Kazuya has only booked her for an hour, it feels as if she booked him for the entire day, as friends to wash away worries on the ocean. Especially that Sumi is still kinda mute, but every interaction with her is like a jewel. Once they reach there, they go not to the beach, but the Enoshima Sea Candle observation deck, going up stairs for days. Indeed, Sumi is quite the looker, and they had a good time together, aside from the occasional sea breeze blowing Sumi's dress for the panty shot. Even splashing on the ocean helps Kazuya rejuvenate a part of his youth, and Sumi, apart from her rental girlfriend job, does a substantial amount of support for Kazuya. Sumi strikes the Best Girl tag once again. Kazuya really trying hard for Mizuhara, he's really trying hard for her innit. At least the spirit's there, so go forth for the 10-hour cheer up planned date for her. |

| I was thinking about picking this up again after dropping it on the first episode because it just looked like more of the same. Has anything improved, has Kazuya had any real character progression (not the faux progression the stans bleat on about) |
