I got a feel of realism from this. Akira has a charming look from this first episode and there are windows of moments that really show her personality. The setting is what I had expected and I think works out well for this anime in general. I also like the OP song, very colorful and flows smoothly.

It protrays the working life style of Akira along with Masami. The storytelling is lighthearted but well done as I'm really interested in seeing how Akira and Masami's relationship will develop in the adaptation.

This seems to be exactly what manga reader told me it would be.

An incredibly sweet romance coated within a problematic reality but it doesn't seem to dwell on the dramatic aspect of it but rather the ups and downs of being in love and what it does to the characters and their daily life. I heard that the manga is really heartwarming and has avoided anything that would let it degrade in quality so far so my hopes are up a for a sweet but well grounded romance/SoL show.

And the price for the longest necks of the season goes to!...
All jokes adide though, it looks like this anime will tackle alot of things that np other anime have done before (not that i know of at least) like, injuries, divoreces anorexia and beeing in love woth someone 3 times your age! We’ll see of it turn out ok, from the looks of it, it looks like a really good show this far. Hoping it stays up there!

Lets cheer for Giraffe-chan togheter this season!

Pretty good first episode. Art and animation looks lovely. It was nice of Akira to help out Masami's son. I wonder how she got that injury. I'll be interested to see how Akira and Masami's relationship will develop. Masami is quite nice. Looking forward to see more.

The girl is fucking Batman. Why is everyone so "stretched" ? lol

But now seriously, the visuals are pretty damn good, not to mention there is a tanned girl in this series ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) OP good, ED even better, and i even saw honeyworks in there. Looking for more of this.

Also this is only now, that it is out so soon or it will be like that through the whole season ?

Main character - Akira is little odd, but I like her.
It seems to me this show more focus on their regrets and problems than romance.

As a manga reader I'm pleased very much with how they handled the adaption if you ask me. Because all I asked for its an melancholic, consistent, and heartwarming product and that's what I got in this. Which works so well as well as the characters in here feel rather normal compared to it.

The later parts of the manga are even better personally but for what is done as the introduction it was done well.

I really liked this episode. However, I don't know wether the approach of the show is too light-hearted or not. In my opinion, the age Gap issue is best addressed with maturity, that doesn't that light-heartedness can't be there along with maturity but we'll see.

I like Kondou and I can see why Akira likes him. The art is way better than most shows.

This might sound stupid, but is this released to tackle the low birth rate and increasing age gap in Japan? Just a guess?

Other than that, I am pleased, the art looks better watching the first episode in comparison to the trailer.

I wasn't really sure what to expect, and I was a little leery about the age gap thing, but so far this is looking very good, definitely the strongest premiere I've seen so far this season. It looks fantastic, has an absolutely brilliant OP and ED and the general execution of everything is also very impressive.

Definitely excited for the new episodes of this every week now.

I find the art was something amazing to watch. Character designs kinda gives me old anime vibes(same for manga too) which feels like blended with incredible modern background art overall feel amazing for me. The soundtrack was really fits well with calm atmosphere.

But, btw the pacing definitely felt something very strange to me..

Wow, for me this was fantastic
I was honestly a bit sceptical, especially because of the age gap but for me it honestly made feel a bit realistic, especially with the way they presented it.
They used moments that could be called kind of cliché but because of the characters it instead made these moments really funny to me, the visuals were really nice and their facial structures kind of reminded me of old anime which i really liked.
The OST was also great and fitted perfectly to what was currently going on.
When it comes to the characters then it was honestly my favourite part, usually these new romances come with generic characters but they felt so refreshing and every moment in this anime felt so realistic because of it and therefore all the moments felt different from the standard clichés
Solid 8/10 first episode for me

Oh wow, that was so good! I love all the characters and this does a really good job of making Kondo lovable. I was falling for him myself during that! I also really love how this episode did a lot of showing and not telling with the ankle scarring and the cigarette packet - I hope it keeps that up.

I like Kondou and I can see why Akira likes him. The art is way better than most shows.

As a manga reader, I can tell you that we have both approaches here, but at this point, we only have the vision of Akira, a teenager, which implies a light-hearted point of view. Later, the manga shows us the vision of Kondou, more mature (because he will only know about this romance later). Thus, the manga proceeds by balancing these two different viewpoints.

AIMER IS LIFE.

Romance story between high school girl and middle-aged man is a new one.

Also, the development that I want to look for is because Tachibana is the few-words persona and how will she approach toward Kondo-san.

Tbh everything was near perfect, the only thing that I don't want to happen is the owner falling in love with her. He seems like a good guy and everything but it'd be cool if the anime continued being realistic in the sense that she struggles with her feelings without them ever getting together.

I know it sounds weird but tbh this is what I want from this anime, and is not expecting.

Wow. Akira is literally a goddess. Gorgeous! *__*
I really like everyone's personalities in this as well...there's a certain element of realism to the way the characters interact- especially Kondo and Akira.

I spent a good portion of the episode trying to figure out what exactly Kondo thought of Akira, if he spared her a thought at all outside of her simply being a young employee.
Up until the end of the episode, I just presumed her feelings were entirely unrequited...although that might not be the case.

The whole meeting flashback was beautiful too.

Definitely liking this series so far. We don't get many romance anime like this one, so it's a welcome change!

Beautiful first episode. Even though I'm not sold on the characters yet, I am sure I will come to like them. I really hope this show keeps going down the more "realistic" route and doesn't become some person's wish-fulfillment fantasy. Let's just see how this goes.

The ED was majestic, my favorite ED song by far this season.

I'm astonished by the beauty of this opening episode!

Stopped reading the manga at some point (need to come back tho), but from what I recall, the atmosphere is reproduced amazingly. All the stunning scenery, gentle colours, subtle details... character designs are great too. We're yet to see Violet Evergarden, but I think Koi wa Ameagari may already be a contender for one of the most beautiful titles of the year.

This is the mix of tender first love with a bit of sadness, and I feel it will be a great ride. *crosses her fingers*

Interesting theme, interesting start. So they are 28 years apart.. (when he turns 50 she would be only 22 years old). Well, it given the love knows no bounds for sure but she can be his daughter as well so it would be interesting to watch the hurdles of their relationship and their progress. I can pretty much guess that their friends, colleagues and relatives won't be happy with this, not to mention her family and such (they would be roughly the same age as him actually). Still, I kinda want to see them together as they are going against the tabu in the society.

This really has some potential to have some impact later and visually, Wit did some great work here.

So far so good!

I really love the art style of the anime, the music, and also Tachibana herself. I initially thought she was the quiet, has no friends, has trouble socializing type of girl but I'm glad I'm wrong because she's a lot more interesting now.

Also really like the atmosphere of this anime. It's so chill, mature, and realistic but it had a few funny moments in there which I really did appreciate. Looking forward to the next ep!

Honestly, I didn't really know what I expected of this. I'm always a little scared of age gap stories because it's easy to resort to the problematic-but-hot narratives. I don't think this will be the case at all here. Someone up there said the way Akira is in love feels very realistic and my god, this couldn't be more right. It feels really... real. lol. I love how clueless he is, because that's how you're supposed to feel, I guess, when you're a middle-aged man and you have a hs girl glaring at you constantly? You're not supposed to immediately go to the oh-she-is-all-over-me scenario. I love how he saw himself in that blond guy who's trying to get Akira's number, but in an innocent way, like oh, yeah, I used to be that enthusiastic. This was a really great way to kick off the show and I already feel like I know the characters and how the story will play out, even though I have no idea what will happen or how, which is like, the perfect s01e01 if you ask me. I won't even go into detail about the animation and design because if feels repetitive. This is obviously well made and well thought as fuck. 10/10
