oh, boi...now leave everything and go read 20th century boys and billy bat..both are made by naoki urasawa and have unique themes and psychological aspects.

Although from what i have heard this one is also great, it's a WMT, so cant really go wrong, and considering that you are watching akage, you'll like it too.
The anime I expect most people to think I was younger for is Naruto, since it has uhm.. not the best reputation anymore. :') I'm still in love with the anime though, and started watching it at around 12.
