Second ep still not convincing.
A lot of "gags" but I didn't giggle once. I don't like the hair in the face of mc and the pony's voice is irritating. There's no scene with real emotional tension or stakes, but they throw in a lot of flat comedy to downplay even normally serious scenes, so there's no investment to be had on my part.
It was quite repetitive, so much it was ironic.
The pegboard says you can't reuse animations, yet the power activation sequence was literally copy pasted, and the plot was in a loop: she uses her power, faints, dude picks her up and blushes at her unconscious face, she sleeps for three days and eats like a carthorse when she wakes up, while dude serves the food in a wifey apron.
The only thing I like is the Italian village aesthetic of the fortress city.
If I manage, I will watch next ep too for the 3 ep rule, but I don't expect much.
Also the she/he? dragon with long lashes in the OP is supposed to be the final boss? I doubt the story is ever gonna turn serious or dark for real.
@ichin I agree with you about her hair. I was a bit dissapointed her face wasn't visble most of episode, even thougt they saved their time in animation process this way.

I think by her not knowing enough about isekai is a call out to the anime industry. I guess in a way its bringing attention to animators/drawers..etc only focus on one genre and don't keep up or work in other genres that are equally as important

Maybe the stereotype of women being portrayed as weak and emotional is also referenced when Luke refuses to let Natsuko join the 9 soldiers, which does tend to happen in anime a lot. I think gatekeeping or not letting others join might be a common thing?

The fox is her previous boss, I'm wondering about the significance of that.

I don't think y'all are thinking deeply about what's going on and instead only looking at it on a surface level.

OP was very nice.

Mark my words, I'll be one of the few people who will truly enjoy this anime in 2025.

The Itano Circus tribute when we fought the voids was a fitting addition to this anime. This is the sleeper hit of the season.

Lol,it wasn't a tribute
The man itano himself made an appearance on zenshu and did the Storyboard for the Itano circus

I get the feeling there's possibly quite a few more references or allegories I might be missing, given that the climax to both episodes so far is a past animation reference.

Natsuko Hirose is astoundingly beautiful. It's unreal. But the series has yet to convince me with a good plot or lovable characters.

It's been a minute since I watched the first two episodes and honestly I can't remember any meaningful difference between the two. They were kinda forgettable

I was expecting a lot more, it was disappointing, especially when I noticed those recycled scenes.

So we got an old school Isekai where you want to get back to the real world ( Digimon style).
Well it already has the recycled scenes element like digimon ( I understand the reason) it's supposed to be an original anime but I can't see an impressive budget or effort in the art or the story but I hope that it can improve because I do like the idea of the story

Great 2nd EP.

But hey, can anyone confirm whether 12th EP storyboard for this already done for the current moment? Maybe through some leak, tweet, anything?
This show has fantastic premise and begining so far, but for only 12 EP long? I kinda doubt the story progression would be proper. Unless the storyboards until final EP is done, which mean they at least actually know what they're doing for the rest of the show. This is an original after all....

Otherwise, we'd ended up with another Wonder Egg Priority situation.... (Pls remember, for the first few EPs, anime communities sung praises for WEP as the AOTS for that season. And then it flops marvelously by the mid until the end, due to a lot of production problems)

Was there any differences when Natsuko used her skill, or was it frame-perfectly the same just as in episode 1?

Can't blame Luke for falling for Natsuko. She's beautiful and cute. Those eyes are Gojo level (when it comes to attractiveness).

So, this time Natsuko drew homing missiles. And she can't repeat it. Meaning, she'll have to save nuke as an ace :D

this episode is a little more of the same from the first, with Natsuko warning about an attack and saving the day with her animator power...
funny that she can't use stock footage, but the whole transformation is stock footage, lol (I don't mind)

we have more interaction with the characters and she trying to go back to her world, what is nice (feel like almost none isekai does this bit anymore)

one thing I appreaciate is how she don't restrain herself of talking about the real world, or the things she knows about the story and characters (she even mention character sheet, lol)... it's fun... most isekai and otome game animes seems to take avoiding this as an unwritten rule for no reason.. it's like a taboo

one thing I wonder if they will talk about on future is, how the hell did the town survived this attack on the og movie? Like, this is a few days after the previous attack, and Luke was probably still depressed over the cartoon unicorn death... here he is in perfect condition to fight, they are well prepared knowing about the attack, and still couldn't do anything without Natsuko's power... I mean, this city can't fall, right? They have the last crystal thing the void monsters need to destroy to end the world... but how they survive? what if Luke was supposed to unlock some op skill to win or something like that?
this could lead to the idea of Natsuko interference, changing the course of the story, ultimately being harmful... like, despite all the bad things, the movie probably had a good ending, right?

Don't poke the girl in the butt with the horn XD really sticking that horn everywhere.

She really doesn't mind spilling all the stuff from the other world that nobody of this world would really care about. Character sheets, sales, keychains, so many bits to fly over their heads. Suppose you can't blame her for not trying to go back where she came from

Food is her love, fair. Food has its appeal. She even saved the harvest.

See the pattern forming here tho. Only in times of crisis can you draw a plot device to change story progression. This time with a boat load of.. I don't know what.

So basically that ability is kind of speedrunning device for her animation skills lol, the chapters/panels that usually takes more than a day will get it done instantly with that ability. The only downside is, it will drain her stamina depending on what kind of drawing she will make.

So far so bueno! I liked how fluid and sleek their animation with this one.

Anime fans are so fickle. The fact this has a 7.31 on MAL is insane. This show is great, animation is top tier. People are salty that the show isn't what they were expecting it to be so they're neg-reviewing it rather than taking it for what it is.

The interesting part to me regarding this episode will be what the effects of her changing the story will be. One can assume it will take a somewhat dark turn if she doesn't end up knowing what will come next, and could lead to members of the Soldiers dying. Will be interesting to see what comes next, but I'm liking this show a lot so far!
@Zak-_- If a MAL rating ever upsets you, just remember that anyone can rate them, and chances are a lot of people gave it a 1 while not watching a single second of the show.
Don't listen to people when they tell you that the anime that you want to see doesn't exist, and to quit asking, and quit searching. I found my dream anime, and yours could be out there too. Speaking of which, watch Record Of Grancrest War, you're missing out.

I thrive on fantasy anime, and anime with all adult casts!

Well it's good to see that this wasn't a one-hit-wonder, and that this 2nd episode had blessed us with the same amount of eye candy as before. The production so far is definitely more than solid- and we get quite the bangers for the OP and ED as well. Not bad bro.

Natsuko is going to have her magical-girl-type powering-up sequence every time she goes into drawing mode now isn't she? But that's no problem at all because what a beautiful sequence it is. As to what she drew this time, got no f*cking clue. Whatever it was though, it was quite satisfying seeing it clear the skies of all those pesky giant flying bugs. Now while everyone's going to look forward to said sequences, I think my personal favourite part of these episodes is going to just be Natsuko eating the hearty meals that Luke cooks for her.

Natsuko's face being almost constantly hidden by all her hair is a bit weird, and annoying even. But it just makes you all the more appreciative when you DO get to see her face; kind of like whenever Gojo removes his mask. It's easy to see how Luke is catching himself being mesmerized by her. Her actual character though? Eh, still has to win me over personally. Wouldn't hurt if she acted just a little less like a kid.

Ok but the real question now is: did that unicorn kid actually put his horn up Natsuko's ass??
