It's back after a year break only, with an hour premiere no less, and we start off with the flashback that started it all from what we've been lead to believe, the basketball scene... or so you thought, because a minute in and STRAIGHT to the action, with this Alucard looking dude, and KILLS XIAOSHI???? Brutal start, to say the least. Back to the past in order to save the dude though, and everything seems as fine and dandy as they used to before the mess of last season. It is nice to see the gang just do some normal antics and not be in a photo already six minutes into an episode. Instead, we're at an anime con.... LOL. Landlady as badass as ever and helps out a poor girl who's getting a photo taken of her panties... great. Which ofc, has to lead to Landlady losing her bag thing and mixing it up with the other girl's bag, which leads to a whole journey to find it, and the girl ofc. Wouldn't be a new Link Click character though, if we didn't get their backstory. For a second there, they really had me thinking that this girl would have a happy backstory... but this is Link Clicl after all, that isn't possible. At least they find the girl in time to give for her to give it to author to sign, and all is well at last, and we get to the startup of the photography studio. This being dubbed the 'Bridon Arc", something had to lead to us getting to this Bridon, and the dude and his girlfriend's "photos" of Bridon is what lead to it. We meet this girlfriend of the dude, and find out, surprise surprise, she's a scam, and BREAKS UP WITH DUDE ON THE SPOT LMAOOO. Though ofc, this girl isn't just a scam, this girl a whole ass liar, and in NORMAL LINK CLICK FASHION AGAIN, somebody has to get beat up and kidnapped. These two man, I outta tell you, they can't go a day without getting into some trouble. As usual, one of the two come save the other, and go straight to the police to tell everything... but not scot-free. They did, but poor girl did NOT, as she got STABBED and killed. Tbh, anything is better than the abuse she was getting from those pricks. It's a Link Click death, so you know it hits hard. But yeah, this was the mission that started it all then eh. Was sweet to see how it all started. And with that, I can't wait to see where we go from here and to Bridon and such to take down the dude and everyone else who was behind Xiaoshi's death back in the present. But that post credit-scene... that's how it all ties to Bridon... Xiaoshi's DAD IS IN BRIDON??? Couldn't be more excited for the next ep. |

Hells yeah, another crazy roller coaster season of Link Click here we come! By the way, Cheng Xiaoshi is very handsy with holding Lu Guang's hand, lol. Love these trio though, such a great chemistry. Of course, now we see how Lu Guang always just have this demeanor from the beginning. He knows what this whole reset is all about, this time jump to the past. I'll be curious to see where this season goes, but there are a lot of new faces in the OP and ED, both which are good but aren't as catchy bangers as the previous two seasons. The art, animation, and voice acting are all still top notch though! |

I'm laughing through my tears. I've missed them all so much, and we're finally being told everything from the beginning! Director Lee exceeds my expectations, already showing in the first five minutes that the story is much more complex than the first two seasons would suggest. Glad we can finally get a better understanding of the backstory! |

Like some changes made, and it was a great Link Click story, but it also it felt like 3 and half unrelated episodes from S1 being added together. I know the reason to a certain extent and I'm so much happier they gave these 3 stories all at once instead having to wait 3 weeks for each to finish before the real start of the story, but they still feel odd together. |

REALLY AMAZING START!!! I'm already enjoying this a lot more than season 2, the start of this was crazy wow. I'm guessing the red hair guy was mad at them for changing what happened in the season 2 finale? If Lu Guang's mission is successful this arc, then red hair guy will get even more pissed... The OP and ED are great as usual for this series. I really like the OP. Edit: Also Lu Guang talking to Cheng Xiaoshi through the phone on the date was a nice test run of their future use of their powers karemi_ said: I don't think so but maybe he was just using his knowledge of future events, since he's in the past and masked it as part of his power?Has it ever been stated that Lu Guang can see the future? WOW, what a way to open things up again. So Vivian didn't die? I wasn't clear on that. Poor woman, she is really brave. I'm glad to see how hyped the fandom is, I was nearly crying.
@StateofOhayo Vivian did die in this episode. On the TV news report it showed "Deceased" over her photo, iirc the Chinese was "死亡", and that's why Cheng Xiaoshi expresses regret over getting involved, and Lu Guang consoles him. There were quite a few Chinese texts on-screen in this first episode that weren't subtitled yet on CR that I'm hoping can be added in the future. Nothing that makes it impossible to follow along otherwise but definitely makes it easier to! |

the lore thickens... lu guang's hair was already white in that fight plus the dude said they had to be punished for messing with the past, so that probably wasn't even the first timeline? hmm rewinding time just for someone's fate to stay the same reminds me of a certain magical girl show. |

Let's see if I got this right. - Xiaoshi's parents had both Xiaoshi and Lu Guang powers. For some reason they "disappeared", with the antagonist/villains searching from them, apparently to kill them and get right of their power that can change time. - Before disappearing they passed their powers to Xiaoshi. - Xiaoshi meet Lu Guang on that baskball ring, they became friends. I don't know why Lu Guang always looked so solitary but it's not important at the moment. - Occasionally Xiaoshi used his powers as their side job, they got tracked, someone went to kill them. - Xiaoshi was shot dead, before dying he passed both powers to Lu Guang, so powers are transferable at will. - Lu Guang went back in time, this is probably the time line of the first season, the same of this first episode of season 3. - At some point Lu Guang split the powers between he and Xiaoshi. - Series happened, first season, second season... etc. This first episode served to tell is already these important information, that finally will be crucial for the events that will happen in Season 3. We'll probably see what happened with Xiaoshi's parent and how they got the villains to got kill them. The great dilemma, I believe, is Lu Guang making a decision of changing the past. Remember, he didn't got back in time because he planned, it happened in the moment. He is probably suffering all this time with the realization that he committed a great "sin", he reverted Xiaoshi back from death. He probably feels this is wrong, that's why he was so insistent about not trying to change the past. He will probably need to make a decision, and it'll be harder because changing the past, preventing all these bad things involving power to happen, will mean that some people that died will live, some people that lived will die, and most important of all, be separated from Xiaoshi. If he really changes the past his meeting with Xiaoshi on that basketball court will not happen... (but I predict they'll meet somewhere else in the end). EDIT: Reminder, I still believe! |

@PaninaManina I believe you got it right for the most part of it and you did a good job putting it together. About some of the details: Lu Guang went back in time, this is probably the time line of the first season, the same of this first episode of season 3. We must be watching several travels of Lu Guang. The first one and then several more. He keeps checking his watch, implying that he tries to keep track of when to stop his travel, because in the travels before he did. He reacts to the clues while hunting down the manga fan as if he has done the exact thing before. He asks Xiaochi if he is sure he doesn't remember anything as if he thinks he must have a kind of Deja-vu now because it happened before. I think I need to rewatch this for certain details - the wristwatch seems to be an important clue and I didn't pay enough attention. Lu Guang also seems to have a detailed notebook and it's thick with time stamps - I don't think it's reasonable he wrote that down from a memory of years ago and it instead is meant to imply it's the collected notes from several travels. Before disappearing they passed their powers to Xiaoshi. I think in the original timeline, Xiaoshi also didn't have any power until the time Lu Guang moved in, because he would have reacted differently to Lu Guang. We also don't have the faintest idea how Lu Guang got his observer power. What happened now with the picture? Was the picture planted by the villains and the one on the phone sensed it or did the dad's power become active and transferred to Xiaoshi? |

@Mazoy I' wouldn't give any more opinions now. What I want to know most is, when is the next episode? When the series starts for real then I'll rewatch this episode to search for more clues, but no, I don't think in this episode we saw a Lu Guang that already lived more timelines, I think he keeps looking at his watch because it shows "time", and this makes he feels guilty for doing something that he shouldn't. About how he got the information, he just looked at the photo and noticed the girl was a fan of that artist, that was all he needed to know to find her. |

So many Easter egg posters at the animation conference. I see Fairies Album (gets the most references, which makes sense given the studio), Herbivorous Dragon, The Girl Upstairs, To Be Hero X, Psychic Princess (I think), Day in the Life of Immortal King, Mom, I'm sorry. I'm sure there are way more. |

ayyy hour long episode to start off the series! I feel like this series will be more focused on Lu Guang since he is the who began this whole thing by travelling back in time in order to save everyone. Apparently this is a prequel and happens a year before season 1, but it doesn't feel like one to me. Ofc we got the classic Link Click action where someone has to die and then it hangs the a cliffhanger on Mt Everest, usual stuff which I love about the show. I was a little confused at the start when Lu Guang used Cheng Xiaoshi's power to go back in time, but then I remembered that his powers could be passed on to Lu Guang so it makes sense. It's also crazy to think about how Lu Guang has watched Cheng Xiaoshi and his other friends die multiple times, which was mentioned at the end of season 2, and we are watching one of the many timelines he is in since he travels back in time. Reminds me a lot of Steins:gate where Okabe tries to find a timeline where Kurisu and Mayuri both don't die. |

No Lu Guang is not omniscient. He only knows what is happening within the context of a photo for the next 12 hours. So his powers has a certain limit. Also, keep in mind that history can change as was shown in the S1 the basketball episode where they win the basketball game. The thing is you aren't supposed to change a death node which has consequences. So what that means is that in previous timelines, the killer could be someone else and not Li Tianchen (in Ep 1 of Bridon, we are shown the killer to be Vein). Since CXS hasn't died in the current timeline, it means that history has changed and the events of S2 are different from previous timelines (this is just my theory so I can be wrong.) |
