I thought this episode was fire. The fact Taiki is about to enter a tournament and Chinatsu is about to enter an important game that will determine both of their future this year is crazy. Personally, a prediction is that one of them will fail and the other will succeed but I hope both of them win.

Imagining someone as seemingly perpetually calm like Chinatsu getting even mildly angry is lowkey scary.

Taiki recognizing his feelings while knowing it might not be for the greater good to share them is kinda novel if not a bit bittersweet

Chinatsu keeping tabs on Taiki's events is cute. As was the two practicing their cover story on the way home. Its not worth it getting angry at other's teams assessment of you and your friends. Just pay them back in the match proper. Taiki's match though really was impressive. Hina's as daring as ever. Can't wait to see how their respective matches turn out.

Taiki is becoming more and more of a better opponent for Haryuu, which is exactly what he needs to level up for the upcoming qualifiers. I can't wait to see Chinatsu play and watch her defeat those girls who have been badmouthing her, self-righteously confident in their own abilities. Watching them lose will be very satisfying!

And jealousy, huh? I doubt he was talking about the fried chicken! Taiki will definitely be up all night thinking about this, especially after Kyou planted the idea of asking Chinatsu out on a date.

Way too cute. Everyone is very cute and hardworking. Chinatsu gonna show the girls how to play Basketball. That's my girl. Also, Taiki is putting in a lot of work as well and he also managed to win a single set against Haryuu senpai.

This episode was back on track focusing on the sports, with some interactions of flirting, this flow feels better than all that focus on drama away from the sports.

When she said "I was jealous ...", he should have said "Well then have two pieces, and you can brag about that later when you see her"

Just Kidding 😂
Note: I don’t lazily watch 3-5 episodes, biasedly compare to other anime, or unfairly judge by surface level similarities. With every anime I start, I watch the entire series, both Japanese Sub & English Dub, then judge each anime based on what they present, to give an honest and fair rating.

What can I say, this anime just continues to be wholesome. Had to wait an extra week for this episode to come out, for some reason, I really don't know what happened, but I'm not liking the idea of being 1 week off. And I missed watching this anime last week. I needed my weekly dose of Blue Blox.

Kyou making the real question: is Taiki asking Chinatsu out if they both get to the finals? But honestly, if I were in Taiki's shoes, I would have made the same choice, of delaying that, because it's true, if she rejects him, it's going to be weird not only for Taiki, but also for her, to continue living together. But I really like Taiki's way of thinking!

Talking about Chinatsu, that girl is amazing, like the "hate" from the other team only made her more determined to win, and she didn't take it as hate, but instead a different perspective of what's happening. The truth will only come out when they play against each other.

Taiki is almost winning against Haryuu, or at least this has been the closest he has been, but the match needed to be terminated before they could decide a winner, so I suppose this is a "prologue" for what's to come in the tournament: Taiki vs Haryuu. I really wonder who's going to win, but if I remember correctly, Taiki doesn't need to win the single tournament to advance to the finals, so I suppose anything can happen.

The plot is moving quickly actually, and I'm glad, I was worried that these tournaments would take much longer to appear, but I suppose we are already ending the 1st cour knowing if Chinatsu and Taiki are going to the finals or not.

Also, Chinatsu being jealous of Hina there at the end, ohhhhh, it was cute.

The mouths are noticeably delayed when there is character dialogue.. Very concerning production-wise.

I hope they step it up in some important episodes.

They both remembered the other's tournament dates. Their interaction going home from school seemed like a good way to get their thoughts out. After last time, Hina not being passive and takes Taiki's karaage in front of everyone, giving the impression they are a couple. Not wanting to be shown up, Chinatsu asks Taiki for one too, mentioning she is jealous...

Hina was so cute arguing about the protein content from fried chicken <3 (I'm a nutritionist). Even when we all know that childhood friends seldom win, she's still my best girl.

Nice sports-centered episode this time. I'm liking the balance in this anime.

Bro, a lot of things in one episode, Chinatsu making it through the qualifiers, Taiki beating Haryu, Hina going on the "offensive" for Taiki against Chinatsu, Chinatsu feeling jealous, Taiki analyzing the chances of going to nationals, etc...

Nah, very good episode...

Taiki shows more growth as a person with each episode, even though he fantasizes about his future and possible romance with Chinatsu, I like him because he can see his ambitions as a way to evolve and move forward, Chinatsu is just the mirror he takes as a reference. And Chinatsu is the kind of person who, even when provoked, remains quiet and expresses herself only on the basketball court, showing her best, I simply love these characters. Great episode as always!

I'm not impressed by the visuals, with the occasional off-model character or stiff movements, but DANG the little emotional beats are just way too relatable. It feels like every episode has so much story packed into it.

Chinatsu keeps proving how determined she is to achieve her goal. When she said, "I will care, and I will win," you could tell she wasn’t messing around. Also, her getting envious of Hina was unexpected and that’s definitely a w for Taiki. Even if she hasn’t realized it yet, she definitely feels something.

is it just me or did the animation quality fall off a bit in this ep?

Yes, I feel that too. But I try to still enjoy it. However, it is still very unfortunate if the quality of the animation decreases

Taiki called Chinatsu "Chi" but neither of them noticed D:
Also, did they just foreshadow a potential beach episode?

Another great episode. Glad to see Taiki finally winning a set against Haryuu.
Last scene with Chinatsu feeling jealous of Hina was lovely, by the way.

Instead of the strong, silent type, Chinatsu senpai is the Silent, Angry type! Glad to see her team is doing well.

Hmm is it just me or does the convenience store Karaage look delicious? Now I'm hungry.

So cute!! I love them so much. Poor Chinatsu, the other girls are just jealous of her and how big of a cutie she is. Hopefully Taiki will ask her out, esp now that he was able to beat Haryuu in a match! Woohoo

Can everyone shut up about the animation? Why do y'all expect the animation to be perfect every single time??

In just a few episodes Taiki has grown from boy to man. Taiki at the start would've see Chinatsu walking home and just completely avoided her. But now he's like "GIMME YOUR DAMN BAGS, BITCH"

"I was spying on you eavesdropping" was actually such a good line. And speaking about the subject of the said eavesdropping, Nagisa, well it's understandable to not want have a rival. team talk down on one of your own teammates. However, she should see the plus side of it. Said rival team is probably going to be underestimating Chinatsu now.

And yo Taiki actually putting up a close fight against Haryuu was quite sudden. He actually levelled up pretty fast, instead of taking all season. Heck dude might even beat Haryuu in the upcoming tournament. Excited to see how that unfolds.

The whole fried chicken scene was a vibe. Idc if the romance goes anywhere anymore. Just give me some good sports action with some good character dynamics, and moments like these.

The animation has been taking a slight dip with recent episodes, not egregious or terrible by any means but even this anime has shown some drop levels after its start. Some nice little moments here, I did like the 'Chinatsu spying at Taiki eavesdropping' moment there, and overall, it gave some much needed focus to Chinatsu after the anime has fairly been distant with her character so far compared to the likes of Taiki or even Hina from the previous episode. Ultimately, you want her to not just be a pretty face but also provide some depth to who she is, her motivations and how much more she desires to grow and evolve as a player. Taiki himself is proving to develop as well as a player with being able to put up a respectable showing against Haryu and take a game off him, but it shouldn't make him cocky or too comfortable because of that though. Wasn't the most memorable or exciting episode but enough pleasant moments were there to make it solid enough for the time being.

Taiki clearly still lacking in his skills from badminton practice, bro needs to work a lot harder with the prefecturals coming up. The perchance of meeting Chinatsu on the way back carrying a lot of bags, he knows how to work hard to win her affection. Even Chinatsu is working hard to achieve her basketball dream as well.

Taiki always losing to Haryu doesn't make things any better, as much as Chinatsu has had her fair share of naysayers, and the only way to prove the doubters wrong is to show it on the match floor, as is with Taiki finally winning a match against Haryu. But when Kyou reminds him about his life with Chinatsu, Taiki has slowly learnt to grow over it, but that he can't always shake off his feelings about her, about reaching Nationals.

The sharing of the fried karaage definitely lit a fire within Chinatsu seeing Hina's gesture towards Taiki, the lobs of love ever so slightly weaving.

It's tournament time for Chinatsu. Her team does well, but an upcoming opponent isn't impressed with Chinatsu. Taiki is also practicing for his tournament, and actually beat Haryu in a game. Taiki talked about dating Chinatsu with Kyou, but when encountering her, Hina, and others outside a convenience store, he felt a little embarassed. Hina took a piece of chicken, and Taiki was a bit upset. After that, Chinatsu asked for a piece, and she said she was a bit jealous of Hina. About the chicken or about Taiki? This is getting very interesting.

Another thing to mention is that it's already June. 3 months after Chinatsu moved in with Taiki's family. They were already in 1st and 2nd year, so now they're in 2nd and 3rd year. Chinatsu graduates in less than a year. There isn't a lot of time.
