| At least right now I wouldn’t call it a harem. The Mc just talks with mostly females but there are still some other male characters. All the female mc’s at least right now have people they love none of which are the mc |

it's not, but I've read every chapter after the anime ends, and at no point does it point or lead towards any other girl chasing him

However, before you dive in, if you don't like harems because of the tropes and clichés associated with those, consider if you'd like an anime that both subverts but also leans into those. Because makeine might be an anti-harem whose comedy is often derived from making fun of harem stereotypes, but it is also very much a love letter to the genre. |

| @tragedydesu I say give it a go. In this case just watching the first episode is already a good litmus test - if you don't like that one you won't like the rest either, no need to spend more time on it than that. Fwiw, i'm also not a big harem fan, although for slightly different reasons, and have found makeine to be hysterical. None of the usual frustration i'd get with harems and every episode has made me laugh out loud at least a few times. |

| @tragedydesu If you hate a bunch of girls fighting over the MC then this series isn't gonna be offputting to you at all, the whole gimmick is the 3 main girls got dumped but are still hung up on the romantic crushes, the MC kind of just happens to be there on the side and casually befriends them but its kept platonic. Like frankly the series feels more tailor-made for people who are frustrated by love triangle tropes cause its mostly poking fun at how awkward a lot of series are about it. The "suspense" over the romance with the MC feels like its more whether his relationship with the main girl will actually go that direction or if they will just be best buds. Like completely honest here as someone that sort of echoes what your saying about why you don't like harem/triangle stuff, this show is cathartic more than anything its pretty self aware and got some damn good jokes especially love how childhood friends lose alot. |

| Nah I don’t think it’s harem but the mc is surrounded by girls interested in some other guy, I would rather say it’s opposite of harem in some aspects. |

| Not a harem, it's a subversion for rom-com genre. Characters represent tropes for losing girls (like how characters in Konosuba are tropes for isekai). Blue hair, childhood friend, gremlin, types that don't win. And has love triangles, but they have 1 winner. The winner MC are also tropes for rom-com MCs, like glasses, nerdy, dense with a childhood friend that they won't pick. Kazuhiko is watching a bunch of generic rom-coms just after their end game. He's there to be a support character, but acts as POV for the series. |
